It's time. I've always talked about my rants being censored and saying it was a matter of "when" not "if." Well, I've decided to head that off at the pass and take a break right now. No, I'm not being forced out by anyone, not yet at least, but I am starting to feel the pressure and I don't think I want to wait for the FBI or the CIA or any of those other government acronyms to come knocking on my door and take me on a drive somewhere that I don't come back from. If that happens, there won't be a "final episode" I'll just fade into oblivion and that's not the way the Buckster wants to go out. If I can't go out in a blaze of glory, I don't want to go out at all, so let's call this an extended hiatus.

My son Bucky Jr. has got his kick-ass heavy funkin' metal band Bloody Stool just about ready to tour and they've asked me to be their manager. It's a great choice, it's kinda like getting all 4 sharks on Shark Tank to go in on a deal with you because they bring so much to the table, and I intend to take them right to the top and beyond. Elvis Presley had Col. Tom Parker, Led Zeppelin had Peter Grant, the Beatles had Brian Epstein and Bloody Stool has Bucky Haighte. My last piece of business advice for a while friends- don't spread yourself too thin. Focus on what you do best, and right now I need to focus on Bloody Stool and take a break from the podcast. But you haven't heard the last of me. Come see Bloody Stool if you see them in a town near you. I'll be the 6'6" white guys standing behind the merch counter smiling away as his son and his band play their asses off. And bring your earplugs. Nancy Pelosi is the Speaker of the House of Representatives. She grew up in the political realm and she has been in DC for 36 years. She is a raging liberal, but she's an ultra-rich raging liberal. If you are a business owner, everything she does will hurt you. All she wants to do is spend your tax money.

The mainstream media loves her. They never hold her to account or ask her the tough questions, so she gets whatever she wants. And she's 81 years old. She is the reason we need term limits. Her elevator doesn't go to the top floor anymore. It's not her fault, we're all going to get old, but she shouldn't be leading the House of Representatives. She is what's wrong with the Democratic party. She's what's wrong with politics in Washington DC.

Tim Tebow was a very good quarterback in college. He won Florida a National championship, he won the Heisman, but he couldn't cut it in the NFL. He played for the Broncos, the Patriots, and the Eagles and they all cut him, but his ego wouldn't let him believe he couldn't cut it. He tried to play baseball and couldn't cut it. He actually tried to play tight end for the Jaguars but was cut before the season started.

He is a narcissist frame being portrayed to the public in a do-gooder persona. He thinks he's better at everything than he actually is. So why do people still like him? Because he wraps it all in his religion and he pushes that down everyone's throat every time he speaks. Hey Tim- People don't like you as much as you think they do. Don't get into politics unless you really want to find out how insignificant you are. You may have some cult followers, but trust me, they are few and far between.

For anyone who says he was cut from the NFL because he was too religious, get real. If he was a great quarterback, he could come to games dressed as the Pope and no one would care. Get off of your ego-driven high horse and face reality Tim. You're just not that good.

131: Bucky Rants on Joe Biden

Our current president Joe Biden is 78 years old. He was in the U.S. Senate from 1973 to 2009. He was elected at 29 years old. Washington D.C. and politics is all he knows. He's a nice guy, but he's a puppet. And he's presiding over a shit show right now. Here's what's on his plate as of right now:

Covid
Afghanistan pull-out
Border Crisis
Racial Tension
Inflation
China egging on Taiwan

That's just what we know about. He is not communicating well about any of these issues, and he needs to stand up and be a leader. And now we're talking about "Human Infrastructure"? What the hell is that? He is denying that inflation is happening. But the biggest issue is that China is getting ready to take Taiwan back. This could be the biggest, most important issue we are dealing with right now but Joe Biden hasn't addressed this at all. He needs to convince the country that he is working for THEM. That's the most important thing. But the bottom line is that he is 78 years old and he is fragile. He is not firing on all cylinders and this is going to get worse.

130: Bucky Rants on the National Anthem

The NFL and the NBA have started playing 2 national anthems this season- Our traditional nationals anthem written by Francis Scott Key during the Civil war, and "Lift Every Voice and Sing" which is now being called the black national anthem. If you've listened to anything I've ever said or written you know I have no problem with African Americans, but I have a problem with this because it doesn't serve to recognize black people, it only separates us more.

If all the white people are singing the traditional national anthem, and the black people are singing "their national anthem" we are encouraging the idea that we are not all Americans and in this together. This is horrific woke crap designed to show support, but it will do exactly the opposite.

We are all Americans. We are not white Americans, and black Americans and Asian Americans, we are ONE PEOPLE. We are one nation. When we go to war, we do it side by side. When we sing the national anthem we do it side by side, regardless of outside issues and we sing one song together. We need to encourage more actions that will bring us all together, not ones that will further pull us apart.

129: Bucky Rants on Illegal Immigration

If we have no borders, we have no country. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for legal immigration. It's the illegal immigration I have a problem with. Do you know who is the most pissed off about illegal immigration? It's not the Republicans or Trump, it's the immigrants who worked their asses off to become citizens legally. Imagine if you're a doctor, and you did 4 years of college, 3 years of med school, and how many years of residency to get your MD, only to find some asshole who got his degree from Bumfuck Medical U. online after 6 months of studying but the hospital hired him and said "Well, he snuck in, but he is here and he'll work cheap so we'll take him!" That's how they all feel.

This country was built on immigrants and hard work. I praise immigrants, I don't want to stop people from coming into this country legally, but this country was not built on not following the laws and just sneaking across the border to get free health care. We need to lock our borders down and tell people that they need to do this the right way, the legal way if they want to become American citizens. Some might say "but Bucky, it's HARD! There are so many steps to becoming a US citizen legally!" You're damn right there are! That's because the U.S. of A. is the greatest, most free country in the world, but if you want to be a citizen, you'll need to work for it. Why? Because it's worth it.

128: Bucky Rants on COVID

No matter how you slice and dice it, COVID has been a total shit show for well over a year now. There are a lot of things we know about it that we didn't before, but there's so much that we still don't know and the bigger problem is that we don't know who or what the hell to believe anymore! Even today we are hearing the most contradictory facts from both sides and no one is backing down.

I've had COVID and let me tell you what I DO know from experiencing it firsthand- This is not the flu. There's one other thing I know- All we have right now are masks and vaccines. That's it, we have no other defense for this right now. I don't know any better than any doctor, scientist, or politician (strike that, I definitely know better than our current politicians) but I do know that we have masks, the vaccines, and people are not dying from either of those. Some stats say that up to 99% of hospitalized COVID patients right now are unvaccinated. Do I believe that? Hell no, there's no way the percentage is that high…but what if it's really 95? Or 90, or even 85%, that tells me the vaccine may help and I don't see people dying from it. I don't believe in government intervention in just about anything, including vaccination, but I also don't believe in NOT doing something simply because I'm being told I have to. If the government tells me I have to wear pants out in public, I'm not walking around naked just to piss them off.

If you don't want to get the vaccine because "I don't know what's in it, it could hurt me", think about what you're going to tell the doctor when he wants to give you an experimental treatment for your COVID from your hospital bed. Actually, don't think about what you're gonna tell him, think about what you're going to write down on the scratchpad because it's pretty hard to speak when you have a ventilator down your throat keeping you alive.

127: Bucky Rants on 9/11

Do you remember a few weeks ago when I told you I was going to change my podcast format to a rant, and that nothing was off-limits? If you didn't believe me before, maybe you will now.

What happened on 9/11/2000 was a tragedy. It was the last thing that actually brought us all together as a country and it's sad that it took a tragedy of this scope to do that. The tragedy is not what I'm ranting on, it's what brought us to this tragedy and what we've done, or more to the point NOT done about it since then. The Taliban attacked us because they could. The military exists to protect us all but to do that when you go to war, you have to be in it to win it. As powerful as the U.S. military is, the Taliban knew the politicians will never let them really do their job. They exist to kill people and break shit because that's the best way to defend our country. If the politicians won't let the military kill people who want to kill us, and break shit that they need to try to kill us, they are going to keep trying to kill us because they know they can get away with it without repercussions.

We were stuck in Afghanistan for 20 years because no president would let the military break shit over there. We had 2 Republican and 2 Democratic presidents during that time, so this isn't a liberal problem, this is a political problem. Politicians don't have the balls to do what needs to be done, so instead, we kept whittling away at the Taliban while it continued to thrive. We were mowing the lawn and couldn't figure out why the grass kept growing. It was because we needed to burn it to the ground, right down to the roots, but no one had the guts to do that so it just kept on growing. I hope we never have to see another tragedy like 9/11, but if we don't change our tactics against people who want to kill us, I think it's only a matter of time.

126: Bucky Rants on Mike Lindell (The My Pillow Guy)

You may not think you know who Mike Lindell is, but you do. He's the "My Pillow" guy. He dropped out of college because he had a gambling problem. I'm OK with that. He started and failed at a bunch of businesses in the 80's and I respect that. He did a lot of drugs and a lot of drinking in the 90's and 2000's and he's been sober since 2009, and I totally respect that. He credits his sobriety to his religion and while I don't subscribe to that, I respect anything that will help you get onto and stay on the sobriety wagon. He employs over 1600 people and I respect the hell out of that. He has even created "The Lindell Foundation" to help addicts, which I totally respect.

Here's my issue- His political beliefs that he is shoving down everyone's throats are killing his business. I don't care if you're on the left or the right, but by spewing it out to everyone, you're alienating half of your customer base, and I'm sorry, but that's just bad business. That, and he's addicted to fame. He looks like an old, fat, Republican, Christian Eminem and it doesn't look good on him. He believes all of his conspiracy theories because he's surrounded himself with yes men who will only agree with him. If you spend enough money on advertising, lots of people will tell you they like you, but they really just like your money. Go sell the company to Procter & Gamble and retire on an island somewhere so we don't have to watch your ads anymore. Let it go Mike.

125: Bucky Rants on Dr. Anthony Fauci

Dr. Anthony Fauci has been the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984. A political apointee who has been around for 37 years through 7 presidents! What kind of dirt does have on these people to stick around that long? He's the highest paid government employee on record.

He could do a lot better if he would just tell the truth. If he would just tell people that most of the folks who are dying of Covid are dying because they are old or fat or out of shape or all of the above. Even if he didn't have the balls to say that, he should at least say "Look, we don't know a lot about this virus and that keeps changing every day but we do have 2 things- We have masks and we have a vaccine, that's all we have. We don't really know how effective either are, but I want to encourage you to use both." You have to tell the truth, you have to own up to your mistakes, and have to say that you're sorry.

Instead, when I hear him talk, I'm just trying to figure out what his agenda is. I can't listen to what he's saying because I feel the need to extract what's real from what he trying to push. I'm sure he had great intentions when he started his government service many decades ago, but now he needs to take his well-earned and very large government pension and retire to an island somewhere. Preferably one with no TV cameras or CNN coverage.

Andrew and Chris Cuomo grew up in privilege, they won the genetic lottery. The Cuomos are a political dynasty, like the Kennedy's or the Bush's and I've gotta tell you I'm tired of the same old shit. The same old ideas, the good ol' boys network and the grab-asses who think it's still OK to degrade women. It was never OK to degrade women, but when you get called out on it, just admit that you made a mistake and apologize.

That's something you'll never hear either of them do, but we can keep dreaming. They both have enough money to go away, but they just love the spotlight so that will never happen. They can't help themselves, their egos are too big. Start a trend: #NoMoCuomo. He needs to be in jail. We cannot allow the old, rich, white guys of the world continue to get away with this shit. If they can't quit it, we'll quit them. They must be stopped and it starts with us.

Donald Trump was a trust fund baby. He didn't amass millions from nothing, his dear old dead daddy left him millions of dollars in cash and real estate. Maybe he grew it, or maybe he's leveraged to the hilt. I don't know, and I don't care, I just have a hard time respecting someone who says how great they are and how smart they are when they never struggled.

When he got elected President, instead of sitting in the grand poobah chair, he kept picking fights! He just couldn't help himself, siting at the top of the world and all he could do was take swipes at everyone. His ego lost him the 2020 election. He wanted to believe so badly that telling people to wear masks would hurt the economy, that he just completely denied Covid. And what happened? The economy tanked. All he had to do was swallow his pride, tell people "We're all in this together, just wear a mask even if you don't believe in it" but instead he kept swiping at everyone and he lost the election. Everything was an angle. Everything was about him. He can't get out of his own way. He had the layup and all he had to do was not believe that the world revolved around him for 5 minutes…But he couldn't.

121: Progressing or Regressing?

So what direction are you going in? Are you progressing, regressing, or standing still? There are no other options, you must be doing one of the three and you could be doing different ones in different places in your life. Are you living like you're dying? Progressing or regressing?

You should be aware of how you are progressing or regressing in each part of your life. Think about it- Your business, your family, your health, your own life, what direction are you moving in? Assess yourself, your life, your business, and anything else that's important you to and decide what direction you're going in. If you're doing tasks that you hate, that drain you, you need to hire someone else to do that task. If you can't afford to do that, find a way to make that happen because it will make you more money in the long run. There's a difference between being active and actually being effective. Make sure you're being effective and not just shuffling papers from the left side of your desk to the right. You need something, some passion in your life that you can get better at every day. If you don't know what that is, find it. Keep looking until you find it, and when you do reach out to the Buckster and tell me what it is, I want to tell the world.

120: It's OK to Apologize

I'm sorry. It's only two little words but it's sometimes really hard to say. Do you think it makes you seem weak to say it? No, it actually makes you stronger. It takes a strong person or a strong company to admit when they've made a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes, EVERYONE, but it's not about the mistake, it's about how you deal with it.

Admitting that you made a mistake and are willing to take responsibility for it shows that you're confident in who you are. It's raw, vulnerable, real, and focused. Sometimes you have to take the high road, even when you want to run the other person off the damn road! Do the right thing, you'll feel better about it after. We all need to apologize to each other much more often.

119: Don't Get The Tuna

There's no actual tuna in a Subway tuna sandwich. This may not be a big surprise, especially for anyone who has ever ordered a tuna salad sandwich at Subway, but that's not exactly the point of this episode. The point is that a couple of guys sued Subway over this. The Buckster does NOT advocate filing frivolous lawsuits, I actually hope the judge saw that and said "No tuna in a Subway tuna sub? Tell me something I don't know! Case dismissed."

But I digress. The point I'm making is that you should never just take what is put in front of you without question. You need to follow your own path, do your own thing, be your own man/woman. Things may sound new, but they're really not. The only thing that's different when it comes to business is that you have more opportunity to try things in new ways. You still have to always tell the truth and be honest. Always put your client's interests first. Regularly take calculated risks if you want to succeed. Ignore the noise and the pop culture. Focus on your business, your family, yourself, your team, and your career. Nothing has really changed. What's important to you?

What's your real age? Do you work out? Stay in shape? Eat right? Well, the Buckster looks at that a little bit differently. I think of myself as 3 years old, because 3 years ago my life took a dramatic turn and I feel like I started over.

My father dying was my turning point, the beginning of my next chapter. Not because I missed him and found a new appreciation for him, it was because I stopped worrying about how he would react to what I did and the businesses I started. Until he died, I didn't realize how much I held back from things I wanted to do, just because I didn't want to hear his feedback. Since he died, I've become the person I was meant to be, because I'm no longer looking for his approval. It feels good to be 3 years old again. The world is mine for the taking and I'm not looking for anyone's approval for what I do. So who's approval or disapproval is holding you back right now? Is it a parent? Your spouse? Your kids? Don't do it. You've got to live for yourself and don't give a shit what anyone else thinks. Are you ready to be reborn?

115: Critical Haighte Theory

"Critical Race Theory" is being pushed in schools right now in the US and I have a problem with it because you can't dictate outcomes. Critical Haighte Theory agrees with critical race theory in the belief that often the cards are stacked against you, but the difference is that I believe YOU control your own outcome. I'm not trying to lessen the impact of racism 100 years ago or today. It was and still is horrific in many ways and I know that black people in America have had and still have a harder time of it, but if you're really trying to get ahead, everyone has a hard time of it. I'm a white male, so in many ways I had it easier than a black man growing up at the same time, but I was an orphan, I grew up poor, I had plenty of other things working against me and I figured out how to succeed because I worked hard.

I'm not saying that African Americans don't work as hard, I'm saying that MOST PEOPLE don't work as hard, but getting the government is not the solution. More regulation won't fix this, what we need is an open playing field. May the best idea win, the hardest worker win, may the risk-takers win. Critical Haighte theory wants everyone to succeed.

It's all about marketing yourself, no matter where you are in your company. You need to protect your brand, and while I do say not to care about what others say about you, this is different. You have to proactively tell your own story. Be proud of who you are and how you want to be seen. Write your own story every day.

#113: Go Fast…Keep Fasting

"Go fast, take chances" was what I used to say to my daughters when they would drive to school in the morning. I still believe that in some instances, but today is all about going fast and keeping fasting. What you put in your body is just as important as what you do and how you think. Talk to people who fast on a regular basis and they will tell you that it can be transformative. Fasts are a part of a lot of different religions, and while the Buckster is not a religious man (Mrs. Bucky Haighte more than makes up for my lack of faith) when so many religions agree on 1 thing, there may be something to it.

Doctors have talked about the health benefits of this for years. We are always trying to get better, be better, do better, but your ability to do that is limited by your physical body, and if you don't take care of that, you can't do anything. This is a way to set yourself apart. I didn't realize this until after I recorded this episode, but my podcast producer has been eating 1 meal a day regularly for the last 2 years now. Sometimes he has a healthy snack around noon, but outside of that he eats dinner and that's it! The guy's 55 years old and he is the same weight he was in college and says he feels better now than when he was 21. This works. Take it from your Buddha buddy, and the baddest mother-factual on the planet, Bucky Haighte.

Money does not guarantee happiness. Not only that, but it can be a disease. It can be hard to be short on cash, tight on money, but don't take it so far that you are stressing about every penny you spend. We all have financial obligations, but making money should be fun, not life or death. Having money solves some problems, but creates plenty of others. It doesn't make you happy, doesn't make you healthy, and it doesn't guarantee anything. You have to find your own comfort level with money, but it can't be life or death. Live life like you're gonna die every day, do your thing. Money's like keeping score, but it's not your life. Don't make it a disease, make it an opportunity. Make it the facilitator for your life and your lifestyle. Money's a tool, so don't act like a damn fool.

"Birthing people?" Completely "gender-neutral" language in the House? Our government is debating this? We are now majoring in the minors. How woke can you get? This is NOT Making us a better country. "Never refer to a person as he or she, they are offensive slurs." He and she are offensive slurs? How far are we going to go with this? We should now use They, Them, and Hir (pronounced like "here") as gender-neutral pronouns. So in 2021 where we can come up with ANY word we want to describe people, we chose 2 words that have been in our vocabulary forever to represent a group of people and make up a new word that sounds exactly like one of the most common words in the English language? This is the best that our linguists can do?

You don't need to do that. To all the woke politicians and media hacks out there, please stop. Can we focus on more important things? The Buckster promotes loving each other unconditionally. I don't care what you look like, who you love, or how you identify, but we need to focus on more important things no pronouns needed. That's why my pronoun is FU. If you ask me, that's what I'll tell you, and if you want to argue with me about it, I'm gonna tell you that we need to focus on something more important, like all getting along, like driving the country forward, and like not getting bogged down in this semantic bullshit that is taking our focus away from far more important things. Now that we are coming out of this Covid nightmare, some of us are realizing that we've the wall. Ass-kicker, workaholic, driver, mother-factual, whatever you call yourself, we all have a wall. Hitting the wall is NOT losing. Hitting the wall means you've been working it hard but at some point, you've gotta see that wall coming or you're going to slam face-first into it. Can you come back after that happens? Of course you can, but it takes longer and it's harder to do if you let your face hit that wall.

Check yourself before you wreck yourself. You've got to watch for it, you've got to know when it's coming, you've got to come up with a strategy to know when that wall is getting close and figure out how to swerve away from it. That may mean a 9-week sabbatical (if you work for the church!) or it may mean a weekend day or an afternoon off, but whatever it means to you, take it. I'll see you in Vegas next time I take a weekend sabbatical. I'll be the one drinking club soda and taking a running start to throw the dice at the craps table.

100: Don't Take Feeling Good For Granted

So here we are at episode 100 and I'm not screaming to the hills about it because I've got the Covid. Well, I don't know for sure yet if it is Covid but it sure as hell feels like it and believe me, it doesn't feel good. Sometimes it takes getting your ass kicked to realize that you are not immortal. I've spent decades working my ass off and I usually take this time to try to help motivate (moti-H8!) you to do the same, but today is a reflection on what's really important sometimes and that's feeling good.

Working hard feels good sometimes, it's good to achieve and to win, but you also have to stop and appreciate what that success affords you, the life it has given you, and never take your health for granted because in the end, if you don't have that none of the rest matters. Can you feel me player? If you're feeling good, make sure you do what you need to keep that up. If you're not, figure out why and fix that however you can before it's too late. I'm looking forward to my next 100 episodes and spreading more wisdom of the Buckster to the masses. That is unless the Covid gets me, in which case you may never hear from me again and it's been a good run. Remember, there's no U-Hauls behind hearses, so if you see my wife arrive at my funeral in a helicopter you'll know why.

099: Constant Sunshine Creates a Desert

If you live in LA or San Diego or some other "always-sunny" locale, I feel sorry for you because that kind of weather doesn't prepare you for real life. Shit happens and you should not only expect it, and plan for it, you should encourage it. If the sun is shining all the time, and nothing ever bad happens, you will fall into a rut and you will get complacent. For the Buckster, constant sunshine turned me into an alcoholic and a drug addict. Everything was so good that I could do (and overdo) anything I wanted and I DID…But it almost killed me. The rain finally came, it caught up with me, I cleaned up and had to reinvent myself and now I'm clean, sober, and more successful than I ever was on Wall Street.

Things will go to shit, it happens to everyone, but if you are smart and you're ready for it that shit could be the best thing that happens to you. It forces you to think, to pivot, and to figure out what you did wrong so you can make corrections. Enjoy the sunshine when it's shining, but know that it will come and go.

And if you don't support them, they can't do their job well, the business goes under, and then nobody is making a living!

Don't beat yourself up. Sure, you can always do better or work harder, but don't beat yourself up if you're not doing that every minute of every day. Putting your business client's best interest before your own makes an impact. Performing a random act of kindness makes an impact. You have opportunities every day to make an impact, so don't let those opportunities slip by you.

To some salespeople out there, every lead is a nail and they think they are the perfect hammer. Guess what player, YOU'RE NOT! "Close at all costs" is one of the stupidest sales phrases I ever heard. Not everyone will want your product or service. This is just the reality, everyone does not want and/or can't afford every product. So what should you do? Be a fiduciary. A fiduciary is a person who is looking out for the best interest of their client, so instead of just pushing your product onto everyone, try talking to your prospect and figuring out what is in their best interest.

The other thing is this- You don't want every client. Trust me on this. Some clients think THEY are the hammer and you can't get out of the way. If this is the case, don't let them be your client. You have the right to fire your clients in the same way they can fire you. Stop pushing, people can smell desperation.

Replace sports with music. Try it for a day, then for a week, then for a month and see how you like it. T = Time

S = Stress

D = Drive

When you jump into a new venture or a new project, you better be ready for all 4 of these things- Pain, Time, Stress, and Drive. No goal is guaranteed. You're here to implement. Not someday, TODAY. So here's the alternative to my acronym above:

P = Persistence

T = Toughness

S = Sacrifice

D = Determination

Take your pick, you need to frame this however it will drive you forward to be the best, but know you are signing up for PTSD because it's going to be a bitch. If it was easy, everyone would do it. But it's not always about the destination, the journey will teach you and mold you and make you better, whether you succeed or not. This scar will stay with you forever, and it will make you better and stronger. So if you want to be a real mother factual like the Buckster, lean into the PTSD. Be ready for it, and embrace it.

They are not trying to inform you or educate you, all they are trying to do is get you to keep watching.

I need you to be intense. I need you to go to war every day and take no prisoners, but also remember- There's always a story behind the story. How many times have you gone off half-cocked when you thought the shit was really hitting the fan, only to realize you may have overreacted just a teensy-weensy bit. Take it from the Buckster, because I've done that more times than I care to admit, there's always a story behind the story.

Do you know why you do that? It's because you're telling yourself a story instead of letting the story play out on its own. You're seeing something happening and since you're the smartest guy/gal in the room, you're predicting what is going to happen or why it happened, but your brain is gaming out the worst possible scenarios and it usually doesn't happen that way. So next time you get upset about something, anything, you have to wait 24 hours to respond. Take the information in. Take a breath. Think about it. Ponder on it. Reflect on it. Rinse it around in our mouth a few times. Give it 24 to settle or brew. After 24 hours, if you still see it going down badly, do what you've gotta do, player. Fire somebody, rip into them, go raise hell, but most of the time you're going to realize that it's not as bad as you thought it was going to be, and that if you reacted like you wanted to at first, you'd be in a much worse place and kicking yourself now. Take a breath player, there's always a story behind the story.

077: Compound Your Own Interest

Compounding interest is not just about money. It can be applied to business and life as well. The "10,000 hour rule" says that you need to practice something for 10,000 hours to be an expert at it. That's a lot of time, if you put in 40 hours a week, every week, it will still take you 5 years to get 10,000 hours.

The problem with "Go big or go home" is that you'll often go home! The results of compounding interest are incremental, but they are important. That makes it hard, because in the short term, you can't always see your improvements, but you have to stick with it.

Don't think about being consistently great at what you're doing, try to be great at being consistent. Focus on compounding your own interest every single day, one day at a time, for a very long time. Easier said than done, but this is a winning formula. Take it from the Buckster.

1. If you die tomorrow, will you regret what you did/didn't do today?
2. What's on the table for your life inventory?
3. What's your bucket list? What haven't you done yet that you want to do before you die?
