| Alright, we’ve been tweaking and improving 18STRONG+ the last two weeks, so now let’s get back after it. Soooo… There are some things I could get away with at 25 that I definitely can’t get away with anymore. Train hard every day. Skip the warm-up. Stay up too late. Eat whatever I wanted. Wake up the next morning and do it all over again. At 25, your body covers up a lot of bad decisions. At 45, 50, 60? Not so much. And I think this is where a lot of guys get frustrated. They try to train how they could when they were younger… Their body starts fighting back… And they assume: “I guess I’m just getting old.” No. You just need to train differently. That might mean taking 10 minutes to actually warm up (what a novel idea). It might mean 3 really good sets instead of 6 mediocre ones. It might mean giving yourself another day to recover before you hit it hard again. And it DEFINITELY means paying more attention to sleep, nutrition and what you do between workouts. None of that means you need to take it easy. In fact, it’s the opposite. You train smarter so that you can continue to train hard. Because the goal isn’t to see how much punishment your body can handle – leave that to David Goggins. The goal is to keep getting stronger, moving better, producing power and doing the things you want to do for a long time. So no… You probably shouldn’t train like a 25-yr-old anymore. But there’s another side to this. And I actually think it’s an even bigger problem for golfers over 40. I’ll hit you with that one tomorrow. GET IT BACK, Jeff P.S. If you’re looking for a program build specifically for us 40+ golfers who don’t want to train like we are in our 20s, join us inside 18STRONG+. |
They know they should move more.
They know they should probably get stronger.
They know sitting all day isn’t doing them any favors.
Nothing earth shattering there, right?
BUT, every once in a while, something happens that gets their attention.
Their backs gets tight.
They lose some distance.
They see themselves on video and wonder when their swing started looking so stiff.
So, they do something about it.
They stretch for a week.
Maybe they start working out again.
They feel better.
Golf feels better.
And then…
Life gets busy.
And they stop.
A few months later, they’re right back where they started.
That’s the cycle I want you to break.
Because getting your athleticism back isn’t about going all-in for 30 days.
It’s about giving your body a reason to stay athletic.
A little mobility today.
Some strength work tomorrow.
A few movements that get your hips, shoulders and spine doing what they’re supposed to do.
Then doing it again next week.
And the week after that.
And the week after that.
Before you know it, you’ve got a year under your belt.
That’s why we created the EFDs – our Every F-ing Day movements – inside 18STRONG+.
It’s 5-7 minutes of simple movements designed to keep your body moving every day.
Nothing heroic.
Nothing that wrecks you.
Just a daily reminder to your body:
“We’re still doing this.”
Combine that with the strength, power and athletic work inside 18STRONG+, and now we’re not waiting until something goes wrong before we start taking care of ourselves again.
We’re keeping the athlete switched on.
Because there is no 30-day finish line here.
The goal is to be 50, 60, 70+ years old and still walk onto the first tee feeling like you can do something with the golf ball.
That’s Athletic Restoration.
You haven’t lost it.
You just have to keep using it.
GET IT BACK.
Jeff
P.S. If you’re ready to stop starting over, join us inside 18STRONG+.
]]>Your first few swings probably weren’t pretty.
Everything felt a little tight.
Your turn wasn’t quite there.
Your timing was off.
Maybe you even thought, “Man, I feel old today.”
But then something happens.
You hit 10 balls.
Then 20.
You start moving a little better.
The club starts feeling lighter.
Your swing gets faster.
And pretty soon, you don’t feel nearly as stiff as you did when you pulled that first club out of the bag.
Here’s the question:
Where did that movement come from?
You didn’t suddenly get more mobile in 15 minutes.
You didn’t build any muscle.
You didn’t magically become more athletic.
It was already there.
Your body just needed to be reminded how to use it.
That’s an important distinction.
Because a lot of golfers in their 40s, 50s and 60s start believing the story that their athletic days are behind them.
I ain’t buyin’ it.
Sure, we’re not 22 anymore.
But the ability to move, react, rotate, create speed and feel athletic doesn’t just disappear – we were blessed at birth.
We just stop asking our bodies to do those things often enough.
That’s why I want you to try something the next time you play or practice.
Pay attention to your first 5 swings.
Then compare them to how you feel 20 swings later.
If you feel noticeably different, that’s a pretty good sign that the athlete is still in there.
We just need to wake him up more often.
That’s what Athletic Restoration is all about.
And it’s exactly what we’re working on every day inside 18STRONG+.
GET IT BACK.
Jeff
P.S. If you’re tired of spending the first six holes trying to get your body going, come join us inside 18STRONG+.
]]>“I’m just so stiff now.”
Maybe.
But, here’s another possibility…
Your body has simply gotten really good at doing the things you ask it to do every day.
Sit at a desk.
Sit in the car.
Sit on the couch.
Walk around a little.
Repeat.
Then Saturday morning rolls around and suddenly you want your hips to rotate, your shoulders to turn, your feet to react and your body to produce speed.
And your body basically says…
We haven’t done this all week.
That’s one of the reasons I believe so strongly in doing a little bit of movement every single day.
Doesn’t need to be an hour-long workout.
Doesn’t need to be a brutal stretching routine.
Just move your body through positions you don’t normally use.
Here’s something to try today:
Stand up.
Reach both arms overhead as high as you can.
Squat down as comfortably as you can.
Rotate your upper body five times each direction.
Then balance on each leg for 20 seconds.
That’s it.
It might take two minutes.
But you’ve just asked your body to reach, squat, rotate and stabilize.
Four things you’re going to ask it to do on the golf course.
Your body adapts to what you repeatedly ask it to do.
So, if you want to keep moving like an athlete…
You have to keep giving your body opportunities to be athletic.
That’s a huge part of what we’re doing with Athletic Restoration inside 18STRONG+.
We’re not trying to turn you into someone you weren’t.
We’re trying to help you GET IT BACK.
Jeff
P.S. If you’re ready to start getting it back, you can join us inside 18STRONG+ here:
]]>And the answer is pretty simple.
We need this too.
We’re not standing on the sidelines telling you how to get older.
We’re doing it right alongside you.
We want to keep playing golf.
We want to keep hitting it hard.
We want to be able to jump into a pickup game, grab a racket, throw a ball around, or whatever else comes up and know our bodies can handle it.
We want to keep that feeling of being an athlete.
And we know that doesn’t happen by accident.
You have to keep using it.
You have to keep challenging your body to be strong, powerful, mobile, coordinated and athletic.
That’s really where Athletic Restoration came from.
It’s not some fancy new fitness term we came up with.
It’s simply what we want for ourselves…
And what we want for you.
We want to build a Crew of guys who refuse to accept that getting older automatically means becoming less athletic.
Guys who still want to compete.
Still want to play.
Still want to see what they’re capable of.
And that’s what we’re building with 18STRONG+.
We’re going to be doing it right there with you.
If that sounds like a Crew you want to be part of, we’d love to have you.
STAY STRONG,
Jeff
]]>18STRONG+ isn’t for everyone.
And we don’t want it to be.
This probably isn’t for you if you’re looking for a quick fix.
Or the latest golf fitness hack.
Or something you’re going to do for three weeks before moving on to the next thing.
That’s not what we’re building.
We’re building 18STRONG+ for guys who still see themselves as athletes.
Guys who still like to compete.
Who still want to hit the ball hard.
Who still want to see what their bodies are capable of.
Guys who aren’t interested in accepting that getting older automatically means becoming less athletic.
We know we’re getting older.
We’re just not done yet.
There’s still a lot of golf to play.
A lot of things we want to do.
And a lot of life left to live.
That’s the Crew we want to build.
So no…
18STRONG+ isn’t for everyone.
But if you read this and thought…
“Those are my guys.”
Then you probably belong here.
STAY STRONG,
Jeff
P.S. Founder’s Pricing ends tonight. If you’ve decided this is your Crew, today’s the last day to join at the Founder’s rate.
]]>| As I was writing this email, I said to myself, “This is so perfect to send on a Sunday evening when our Crew is relaxing on their couches.” And it’s this… There’s something you should probably know before joining 18STRONG+… We don’t want you to live in the gym. Seriously. Most of us have enough going on already. Work. Family. Kids. Grandkids. Golf. Travel. And everything else life throws at us. The last thing I’m interested in doing is turning fitness into another full-time job. In fact… The whole reason we train is so we can go do everything else. I want you strong enough to play 18 today… And say “yes” when somebody asks if you want to play again tomorrow. I want you athletic enough to get invited into a game you’ve never played before… Pick up whatever they’re using… And figure it out. I want you to be able to travel. Ski. Hike. Play tennis. Throw a football around. Chase your kids or grandkids. Whatever you want to do. Without your body being the reason you say no. That’s why our mission at 18STRONG has always been bigger than lowering your handicap. Play More Golf. Live More Life. That’s what Athletic Restoration ultimately gives you. Not another hobby called “fitness.” Sounds terrible, doesn’t it? Instead, how about we train for one thing: Freedom. The freedom to keep doing the things you love. And the confidence to say yes to things you haven’t done in years. That’s why we’re keeping 18STRONG+ simple. Start with Foundation. Three workouts a week. Do your 7-minute EFDs every day. Then get out of the gym and go use it. That’s the point. STAY STRONG, Jeff P.S. There are only 3 days left to join 18STRONG+ at the Founder’s Price. Join before Wednesday’s deadline and that rate is yours for as long as you remain a member. LOCK IN YOUR FOUNDER’S PRICE → |
You don’t think about how to throw a Frisbee.
You look where you want it to go…
And throw it.
Your body handles the rest.
That’s athleticism.
So, the obvious question is…
How do you get that back?
You don’t practice “being athletic.”
Instead, you train the physical qualities that allow athleticism to show back up.
And for us, that starts with strength.
I’ve said it for years and I still mean it:
Strength is the mother of all athletic qualities.
Get stronger and you create a bigger foundation for everything else.
Power.
Speed.
Balance.
Mobility.
Resilience.
But strength alone isn’t the entire picture.
Think back to the sports you played growing up, or really, just being a kid…
You ran.
Jumped.
Rotated.
Changed direction.
Accelerated.
Decelerated.
Reacted.
Your body was constantly being asked to do different things.
And because you did them all the time…
You became athletic without ever thinking about “becoming athletic.”
Then life changed.
We stopped asking our bodies to do those things.
And those qualities started going dormant.
That’s what we’re going after with Athletic Restoration.
Inside 18STRONG+, we’ll progressively train the qualities your body needs to start expressing that athleticism again.
We’ll get you stronger.
We’ll get you moving.
We’ll work on power.
Speed.
Balance.
Mobility.
Coordination.
Not because we need you to become great at any one of them.
Because we want all of them available when you need them.
That’s the point.
So when you’re standing over a golf ball, you’re not trying to consciously create power…
Or manufacture rotation…
Or force your body into positions.
You’ve trained your body to be athletic.
Now you get to use it.
That’s what we’re building inside 18STRONG+.
And it starts with The Foundation program.
Three workouts a week.
5-7 minute EFDs (Every F-ing Day).
It’s a simple starting point designed to begin waking all of this back up.
Then, we continue to build after that.
]]>My buddy Teddy and I were in the middle of our round and I was struggling.
He knew exactly what I was doing..totally overthinking my swing.
And he gave me an example that pulled me out of my funk.
He said…
Think about throwing a frisbee.
Someone hands you a frisbee and points at your buddy 20 yards away.
What do you do?
You throw it to him.
That’s it.
You don’t stand there thinking…
How far should my backswing go?
Where’s my elbow?
Did I shift my weight correctly?
What’s my wrist doing?
Did I rotate enough?
Where should I finish?
You don’t think about ANY of that.
You look at where you want the Frisbee to go…
And you throw it there.
That’s athleticism.
Your brain knows the outcome you want, and your body figures out how to produce it.
Think about how different that is from the way a lot of us play golf.
We stand over the ball with a checklist of 15 things running through our heads.
Take it straight back here.
Keep this connected.
Don’t sway.
Start the downswing with this.
Clear that.
Finish here.
And somewhere in all of that…
We stop playing golf and start trying to operate our golf swing.
That’s why Athletic Restoration matters.
The strength, mobility, balance, speed and power we’re training aren’t the end goal.
They’re there to give your body back the physical tools it needs to be athletic.
Because when your body can move, react and produce force the way it’s supposed to…
You don’t have to consciously control every little piece of it.
You can look at the shot.
Visualize what you want to do.
And swing.
Just like throwing that frisbee.
Now, I’m not telling you that restoring your athleticism means you’ll never work on your golf swing again.
Of course you will.
But there’s a HUGE difference between working on your swing…
and standing over every golf ball trying to manufacture one.
We want you to get back to PLAYING with the joy of a kid.
Kids don’t think about their swings.
They stand over a shot with the same confidence you have when somebody tosses you a frisbee and says:
“Toss it over there.”
You don’t hope your body can figure it out.
You know it can.
That’s the feeling we’re chasing with 18STRONG+.
That’s Athletic Restoration.
Let’s GET IT BACK.
You can Join 18STRONG+ with us and we’ll do it together.
STAY STRONG,
Jeff
You’ve got until Wednesday to lock in the 18STRONG+ Founder’s Price.

]]>And I told you our mission is Athletic Restoration.
Helping you wake up the strength, mobility, balance, power and athleticism that’s been sitting dormant for years.
But here’s the reality…
None of that matters if you don’t actually do the work.
The perfect program sitting untouched on your phone doesn’t make you stronger.
Watching another mobility video doesn’t make you more mobile.
Knowing what you should do doesn’t change anything.
Action does.
That’s why we’ve made 18STRONG+ intentionally simple.
When you join, we’re not going to dump a massive library of programs in your lap and tell you, “Now, go figure it out.”
We’re going to tell you exactly where to start.
The Foundation.
Three workouts a week.
Plus your EFDs (Every F-ing Day).
That’s your job.
We’ll take care of the programming.
We’ll tell you what’s next.
We’ll continue adding the speed, mobility, strength and other training you need to restore the athlete inside you.
You just have to show up.
And I know life gets busy.
That’s the point.
We’re not trying to turn anybody into a gym rat.
We’re trying to help you build a body that lets you get the most out of the hobbies and the life you already have.
Effortlessly play 18.
Say “yes” when your buddies want to play another 18.
Hit the ball with some pop again.
Pick up a basketball, throw a football, jump in a pickleball game, chase around kids…
…and not have your first thought be whether your body can handle it.
That’s Athletic Restoration.
And that’s what we’re doing together inside 18STRONG+.
If you’re thinking about joining us, remember that our Founder’s Price is only available for 6 more days.
Join during this window and you’ll lock in that price for as long as you remain a member.
But don’t join because the price is going away.
If it’s going to be just another app that sits regrettably unopened on your phone, then this isn’t for you.
Join because you’re ready to start using the athlete that’s still in there.
LET’S GET IT BACK!
STAY STRONG,
Jeff
