The car was purchased by its previous owner in 2017 and placed in storage until it was purchased in 2023 by the seller, who subsequently modified it with inspiration from the baquet racers that contested Argentinian rallies in the 1920s and ’30s. Work included shortening of the frame by 24” and the fabrication of riveted open bodywork rearward of the cowl. Power is provided by a 250ci inline-eight that breathes through a Stromberg UUR-2 updraft carburetor and is paired with a three-speed manual transmission with freewheeling. Finished in red, the car also features mechanically actuated four-wheel drum brakes, tubular shock absorbers, 19” painted wire wheels, an aluminum fuel cell, an aluminum radiator with an electric cooling fan, LED lighting, and Kirkey aluminum bucket seats trimmed in black upholstery. This custom-bodied Studebaker baquet is now offered with an owner’s manual, parts manuals, documents and correspondence dating back to 1978, photos from the build under current ownership, and an Ohio title in the seller’s name that lists the car as a 1931 Unknown Studebaker.

Originally carrying four-door sedan coachwork over a 124” wheelbase, the frame was shortened by 24” during the build performed by the seller. Bodywork from the cowl forward was retained, while baquet-style rear bodywork was fabricated by the seller using low-cut riveted side panels and a tapered tail ending in V-shaped louvers. According to the seller, the bodywork and red paint were designed to portray the appearance of older work with associated wear. Features include a body-color radiator shell around a black-painted grille, dual Brooklands-style windscreens, dual side mirrors, LED headlights and taillights, and a twist-off fuel filler cover that replicates a Monza-style cap.

Red-painted wire wheels are wrapped in 6.50-19 Firestone wide-whitewall tires. Stopping is handled by mechanically actuated four-wheel drum brakes, which were disassembled and cleaned during the build.

The cockpit houses a pair of Kirkey fixed-back aluminum bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl. The driver’s seat is adjustable, while the passenger seat is in a fixed position. Additional features include Crow latch-and-link lap belts, a perforated rear bulkhead panel, an engine-turned dashboard panel, and an electrical cut-off switch.

The four-spoke steering wheel sits on a quick-release hub ahead of Stewart-Warner gauges monitoring oil pressure and coolant temperature, while toggle-style switchgear is situated to the driver’s right. The car is not equipped with an odometer, and chassis mileage is unknown. The seller states that approximately 300 miles have been added since the build.

The 250ci inline-eight features a nine-main-bearing crankshaft, side valves, and a Stromberg UUR-2 updraft carburetor and was factory rated at 101 horsepower. Work during the build under current ownership is said to have included rebuilds of the carburetor, water pump, and generator as well as the addition of an updated fuse box and wiring, a positive-ground electrical system with an Optima six-volt battery, updated fluid lines, an electric fuel pump, a fuel pressure regulator, an aluminum radiator with an electric cooling fan, and an aluminum fuel cell.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission with free-wheeling and positive gear control that allowed shifting between second and third gears without the use of the clutch. The transmission and rear end were disassembled and cleaned during the seller’s build, which also included shortening of the driveshaft. Tubular shock absorbers were added in lieu of the original lever-arm shocks.

Images of the car prior to and during the build are included in the photo gallery below. Included in the sale are a Commander owner’s manual, parts catalogues, and other marque-related literature as well as a previous bill of sale from 1978, various documents from previous ownership, photos from the early 1980s, and a set of four tire tubes.

A removed chassis tag is stamped with the number 8034572, which is used as the car’s identification number on the title. The title is marked with a Non-Actual Warning: Odometer Discrepancy mileage notation.

St. James raced the car using the red-and-silver  Motorcraft #7 livery and achieved a podium finish. The car was restored at some point and has participated in multiple Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festivals. In 2019, the dry-sump small-block V8 was built to displaced 338.42ci by Gary Meier at Torque Power Engines with a Bryant Racing crankshaft, a solid-roller camshaft, Ross pistons with 11cc domes, Carrillo connecting rods, chromoly pushrods, Del West titanium valves, and stainless-steel Crower rocker arms. It is topped by a Ford Motorsport intake manifold and a Holley carburetor, and the engine is linked to a Jerico four-speed manual transmission and a 9″ rear end with a 4.30 locking differential. The widebody fiberglass bodywork is mounted over a tube chassis, and the car rides on 16″ Real Racing alloy wheels and is further equipped with QA1 front coilovers, Wilwood disc brakes, and a side-exit exhaust system. The interior houses a roll cage, a fire-suppression system, a racing seat, a multi-point harness, a quick-release steering wheel, and a Hurst shifter. Purchased by the seller in 2020, this Mercury Capri race car is now offered in California with spare parts and a bill of sale.

The fiberglass bodywork is mounted over a tubular chassis and is finished in red and silver with multicolor racing livery as raced by St. James in the 1982 Kelly American Challenge. Features include a front air dam, an external battery-cutoff switch, dual side-exit exhausts, flared fenders, tow hooks, and a cowl-induction hood secured by Dzus fasteners and flush-mount hood pins. The side windows have been removed, and the car has polycarbonate front and rear windows along with headlight blanks.

The 16″ Real Racing wheels are mounted with Goodyear Eagle racing slicks measuring 25.0×13.0 up front and 27.0×14.0 at the rear. The car is equipped with front QA1 coilovers up front, adjustable rear Koni shocks, and ventilated disc brakes with Wilwood calipers and cooling ducts.

The stripped cabin is protected by a roll cage with side bars, and it houses a single racing seat with a Crow Enterprizes harness. Other equipment includes a Hurst shifter, an AutoMeter Pro-Lite shift light, a five-panel rearview mirror, a window net, and a fire-suppression system.

The four-spoke steering wheel is mounted to a quick-release hub, and AutoMeter and Moroso instrumentation consists of an 11k-rpm tachometer and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, coolant temperature, fuel level, and voltage. The mechanical five-digit hour meter shows 78 hours of runtime, though total mileage is unknown.

It is topped by a Ford Motorsport intake manifold and a Holley carburetor, and AN fittings were also used along with MSD ignition. The oil and fluids were changed in early 2026.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Jerico four-speed manual dog box transmission and a 9″ rear end with a locking differential and 4.30 gears. A spare 3.90 pumpkin and a Jerico four-speed gearbox are also included.

The car does not have a traditional VIN or a title, as it is intended for racing.

Powered by a 3.6-liter flat-six that drives all four wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential, the car is equipped with 18″ hollow-spoke “Technology” wheels, boosted disc brakes with ABS, a power-operated sunroof, Tore Bergvill HID headlights, cruise control, air conditioning, a Sony receiver with Bluetooth connectivity, and a custom aftermarket audio system. This 993 C4S is offered by the seller, a BaT Local Partner, with service records, a spare set of wheels, a spare DME relay, a car cover, a Carfax report, and a clean Minnesota title in the owner’s name.

The 993 C4S features wider rear bodywork in comparison with the standard Carrera as well as a front air dam derived from the contemporary Turbo. This example was finished from the factory in Arena Red Metallic and has been refinished. Exterior details include Tore Bergvill HID headlights with washers, clear corner-marker lenses, a Gert’s front protection bar, brake cooling ducts, heated power-adjustable mirrors, a power-operated sunroof, black rear bumperettes, a speed-activated rear spoiler, a rear wiper delete, and dual wide oval exhaust tips. A March 2020 entry on the Carfax report lists “minor damage” to the front, rear, and right rear of the car, and subsequent bodywork documentation is provided in the gallery below. The owner notes that paint protection film has been added to portions of the exterior, and that a ceramic coating has been applied.

The 18″ hollow-spoke “Technology” wheels are mounted with Bridgestone Potenza tires. The car features an Automatic Brake Differential (ABD), and the 993 was the first 911 to feature multi-link rear suspension. The owner states that a boosted brake system with ABS and larger discs is equipped along with larger Turbo torsion bars. Past work involved replacing the rack-and-pinion steering assembly in 2017, the rear CV axle shafts in 2018, and the rear lower track rods in 2019. The brake fluid was changed in 2022, and replacement front Bilstein B6 Performance struts were installed in May 2023. A spare set of wheels are included in the sale.

The 12-way and eight-way power-adjustable front seats for the driver and front passenger, respectively, are upholstered in Cashmere Beige leather and complemented by a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpeting. Carrera 4S-branded floor mats line the footwells, and amenities include cruise control and air conditioning. The Bluetooth-capable Sony DSP receiver is linked to a JL Audio 750-watt, 6-channel stereo amplifier located under the passenger seat, Rockford Fosgate two-way front speakers, ADS rear speaker plates, two 8″ Polk subwoofers in removable enclosures, and two Focal subwoofers.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, a 180-mph speedometer, a Quarz analog clock, and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 126k miles, approximately 32k of which were added under current ownership. The horn basket has been replaced.

The air-cooled 3.6L flat-six features a VarioRam intake system and was factory-rated at 282 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. The lower valve cover gaskets were replaced in 2017, the drive belts were replaced in 2024, and the oil was changed in 2026. The secondary air injection (SAI) valve has been replaced during current ownership as well.

Power is sent to all four wheels via a six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential. The owner notes that a Motorsound package is equipped.

Decoding the option sticker reveals the following information:

  • L84S – Arena Red Metallic paint
  • LC – Cashmere Beige partial leather with black cabin accents

After being acquired as a non-running project by noted Porsche racer, engine builder, and author Duane Spencer in the mid-1980s, the car was recommissioned and used in numerous vintage races throughout the late 1980s. It was refurbished for road use and repainted red following its final full race at Riverside in July 1988. Previously featured on BaT in August 2009, the car was acquired by the current owner in 2020, and subsequent work involved fitting the replacement flat-four with 86mm pistons and cylinders and replacing the push rod tubes, spark plugs, and engine gaskets. Equipment includes a louvered engine lid, 15″ Rudge wheels, a black soft top, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. This 356B Roadster is now offered in Phoenix, Arizona on consignment by the selling dealer with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, hand-written notes from Duane Spencer, a tool kit, and a clean Oregon title.

The T5 body was introduced for the 1960 model year with revised front-end styling, including raised bumpers and headlights along with a redesigned front trunk lid handle. This Drauz-built example came finished from the factory in Heron Grey and was fitted with replacement rear quarter panels from a donor coupe in the mid-1980s. Replacement doors were installed and the car was repainted red in the early 1990s, and additional equipment includes a black soft top, a louvered decklid, and a removable windshield frame.

The chrome 15″ Rudge wheels are mounted with 165SR15 Michelin XZX tires. The car was factory equipped with drum brakes at each corner, and 911-specification rear suspension was installed many years ago.

The front bucket seats and rear jump seats were reupholstered in tan vinyl and beige squareweave carpets were installed when the car was returned to street use. The shift shaft seal and boot were replaced in April 2026.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames green-letter VDO instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline as well as a combination gauge for oil temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 42k miles, approximately 2,300 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The replacement flat-four was sourced from a 1965 356C and features SC-specification cylinder heads and a custom camshaft. AA Performance 86mm pistons and cylinders with 8.8:1 compression were installed by Patrick Motorsports of Phoenix in 2020, and the push rod tubes, spark plugs, and engine gaskets were replaced at that time. The ignition points and condenser were replaced in 2026 and the carburetors were cleaned and adjusted.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a five-speed 901 manual transaxle.

The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity shows a build date of January 31, 1961 and displays factory colors, equipment, and serial numbers.

It has been modified with a European-market S50B32 3.2-liter inline-six paired with an E36 M3 ZF five-speed manual transmission. Additional modifications include a 3.25:1 OS Giken limited-slip differential, Kosei K1 Racing wheels, a Wilwood big-brake system, Bilstein suspension, and a Mark D’Sylva–tuned engine management system, along with a custom roll cage, race seats, and a M-style livery. The car competed in the Targa Newfoundland Rally in 2011, and it was recently acquired by the selling dealer. This E30 M3 is now offered by P1 Motor Cars —a BaT Local Partner—with a clean Washington title.

Finished in Alpine White (218), the body features the M3’s widened fenders, rear spoiler, electric sunroof, painted mirror caps, fog lights, and twin exhaust outlets. The seller states that the car has received paintwork and partial vinyl wrap over the years. Additional modifications include HID headlights utilizing E46 projectors and Hella ballasts. Cosmetic imperfections include paint flaking on the front bumper, cracking and fading of the M-color vinyl wrap, rust at the lower left windshield cowl, and corrosion beneath the rear spoiler mounting screws.

Kosei K1 Racing 15×8 wheels are mounted with 225/45 Toyo tires, which the seller notes are older and require replacement. The suspension has been upgraded with Bilstein custom-valved dampers and Ireland Engineering urethane subframe bushings along with aftermarket sway bars. Braking is handled by Massive Brakes Rally components featuring Wilwood six-piston radial-mount front calipers, 300×32mm slotted rotors, Wilwood H-compound pads, a Tilton Series 600 pedal assembly, Tilton Series 75 master cylinders, a VAC Motorsports firewall mounting plate, and Goodridge stainless-steel brake lines. The selling dealer states that the brake fluid was recently replaced.

The cabin has been converted for competition use with Sparco Evo 2 bucket seats, G-Force five-point harnesses, an O’Brien Motorsports roll cage incorporating A-pillar gussets, X-brace door bars, and differential reinforcement, a custom aluminum passenger footrest, VAC Motorsports seat mounts and aluminum passenger floor panel, and a Speedier Systems switch and relay panel. The fire-suppression system is missing its bottle, and the harnesses are date-expired.

A three-spoke steering wheel fronts a custom instrument panel featuring a Speedhut programmable speedometer , a VDO X-Treme Pro Eliminator memory tachometer with programmable shift light, and VDO gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The shifter features a UUC double-sheer selector rod and Evo 3 short shifter. The inset digital odometer display indicates 6k kilometers (~3,800 miles). The factory odometer has been removed, and total chassis mileage is unknown.

The European-market S50B32 3.2-liter inline-six is equipped with a Mark D’Sylva–tuned ECU, AKG Group N engine mounts, a Fluidyne aluminum radiator, a Mishimoto electric cooling fan, a Setrab oil cooler, a Walbro 255-lph fuel pump, and a custom exhaust. The seller states that coolant service was recently performed by the previous owner.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through an E36 M3 ZF five-speed manual transmission equipped with UUC Stage 2 lightened 8.5-pound flywheel, E34 M5 clutch, and E30 M3 driveshaft. A 3.25:1 OS Giken limited-slip differential with a finned rear cover is fitted, and the selling dealer notes that the differential exhibits gear whine. Transmission and differential fluids were reportedly serviced by the previous owner.

The car has participated in the Targa Newfoundland tarmac rally, additional photos of which are displayed at the end of the gallery.

The Carfax report indicates no damage or accidents.
