]]>Meghan and David dreamed of the perfect, intimate family wedding day in Knoxville and knew the Stables at Hunter Valley Farm was perfect. They had a spring wedding with perfect weather. Meghan was stunning. David was all smiles. And everything was perfect. Or … was it?
The truth behind wedding planning is that sometimes everything isn’t PERFECT. Meghan had to get a new wedding dress a week before her wedding! Thankfully, she found a dress that she loved even more that fit her perfectly. And then on the wedding day, David’s wedding ring did not make it to the venue.
Despite these set backs, Meghan handled everything in a stride. There was laughter, happy tears, and tons of happiness as Meghan and David became husband and wife.
The reception literally rocked with Stephen Goff and the Royals, a Knoxville live band. The dance floor stayed packed!
We could not be more thankful to have been Meghan and David’s Knoxville wedding photographers. They felt like old friends from the very first time we met them at their Knoxville engagement session.
Meghan and David: Cheers to a lifetime of happiness! Thank you so much for trusting us with your wedding day memories!

]]>We always love a beautiful wedding at Dara’s Garden in Knoxville, and Ashlynn and Tyler’s wedding did not disappoint! Of course, you know what they say: April showers bring May flowers. Well … there was definitely rain. But hey, it’s supposed to be good luck on a wedding day, right? Ashlynn and Tyler didn’t blink an eye! In fact, they pretty much just looked at each other all day, and that’s exactly what we love about working with our brides and grooms!
Peggy Love with Plan it with Love did an amazing job of coordinating us around the weather, and special thank you to Jim Ogle with Ogle Entertainment Light and Design for playing weather man – the ceremony ended just before the rain poured from the skies, and then he kept the reception rocking through the night!

]]>Peyton and Billy’s East Tennessee wedding day at Howe Farms near Chattanooga, TN, is actually today! So, we wanted to reminisce all the fun we had during their spring engagement session just a few weeks ago. Fun is actually an understatement – we had a blast at Ijams Nature Center, laughing from the moment we arrived until we took the last photo at sunset. If only Peyton and Billy lived in Knoxville so we could hang out with them more!
In between the laughter, we loved seeing how Peyton and Billy look at each other. And, isn’t Peyton’s spring dress gorgeous? She also sells Younique make up products, and her make up looked flawless! Needless to say, Peyton is going to be a stunning bride today, and we can’t wait to start this fun wedding day as their Knoxville wedding photographers in just a couple of hours! Congratulations, Peyton and Billy!

]]>Valerie and Jason had a gorgeous boho wedding at The Stables at Hunter Valley Farm in Knoxville, TN, with close family and friends, who mostly traveled from Florida to celebrate their wedding day. Valerie and Jason are originally from Florida, but they have made Knoxville their home with a interior and exterior home improvements company called Paisley Design Company.
The bride and groom began their day with a First Look, and Jason could not have been more excited to see his bride in her long, flowing dress with floral lace and hair and make up by Kellie Taylor at Bombshell Salon. We also loved Valerie’s tiara and especially her bouquet by Swank Floral Design with long, flowing lace ribbon. We also loved the groom and groomsmen vintage outfits including suspenders and crazy socks.
After their ceremony, Valerie and Jason danced the night away, led by dj Drew with Ogle Entertainment and Light Design. They ended the night with a sparkler send off before whisking away to their honeymoon.
Valerie and Jason: We absolutely loved you from the first time we met you. It is so easy to see how much you love each other, and knowing how much you each wanted your wedding day to be so special for each other was so sweet. Thank you so much for letting us be part of your day as your Knoxville wedding photographers!

]]>Chantel and Aaron had a beautiful intimate elopement at Christopher Place Resort in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. It was a crisp March afternoon, and we loved Chantel’s fur wrap!
Christopher Place Resort is a charming bed and breakfast that hosts the most beautiful, intimate weddings. Chantel and Aaron were married surrounded by their closes family and friends in front of a weeping willow tree. We always love taking photos at Christopher Place at sunset with the Smoky Mountains in the background followed by dancing in the grand ballroom style entrance.

]]>Meghan and David are one of those couples that is easy to fall in love with. Their easy-going nature, fun-loving spirits, and ability to completely relax in front of the camera are just a few of the reasons we had so much fun taking their Knoxville engagement photos in downtown Knoxville, TN, on Gay Street and at Ijams Nature Center, including a champagne toast.
Meghan and David are getting married on April 1 at The Stables at Hunter Valley Farm. We are so excited for a spring wedding withe some of our favorite Knoxville wedding pros including Swank Floral Design and Stephen Goff and the Royals.

]]>Rachel and Fletcher had a rustic Knoxville wedding at Marble Springs Historic Site focusing on love, marriage and family, followed by a reception at the Emporium Center in downtown Knoxville. We always love weddings coordinated by Absolute Wedding Perfection, and this gorgeous wedding with florals by Echelon Florist was no exception!
While Rachel is an only child, Fletcher comes from a large family and even has a twin brother. So, Rachel and Fletcher decided to forgo a traditional wedding party and asked Fletcher’s twin brother to officiate their ceremony. Fletcher’s dad performed a knot tying ceremony, and a friend gave the couple marital advice. We loved the unique, special touches for this wedding ceremony!
Rachel and Fletcher love nature, animals and art, so their reception at the Emporium was filled with unique artistic touches including adorable prints of wild animals used as table markers. They had a plated dinner by Bradford Catering including chicken cacciatore that was beyond delicious, and Jim Ogle with Ogle Entertainment Light and Design had the dance floor rocking.
This wedding day definitely had special moments we will not forget. Right after Rachel put on her dress, she mentioned that she knew it was the perfect dress because Fletcher loves stripes. Not only were we impressed because of how unique Rachel’s dress was but also because of the thoughtfulness she put into choosing her dress. We also loved seeing Fletcher stop to hug his dad as he and Rachel entered their wedding reception. Mostly, we love seeing the love and respect in Rachel and Fletcher’s eyes when they look at each other and hold each other.
Rachel and Fletcher: We have loved getting to know you and see how you love and respect each other. The way you look at each other gives us goosebumps! Thank you so much for letting us capture your beautiful wedding day as your Knoxville wedding photographers! We are so thankful for your friendship, too, and we are excited to see where marriage takes you!

]]>Jenna and David’s October wedding at The Mill and Mine, downtown Knoxville’s new premier wedding and event venue, was breathtaking! We loved the urban vibe of the Mill and Mine, offering a mix of textures and unique settings for photos.
We loved so many of the details of Jenna’s wedding day including her navy, green and white color palette; her caramel apple wedding favors, and the Batman groom’s cake. What we loved most about Jenna and David’s wedding, though, was how excited Jenna and David were to be married. They couldn’t take their eyes off each other once they had their First Look.
The Mill & Mine offers everything you need for a one-of-a-kind event. Located in a prominent downtown Knoxville location, the unique, industrial style space is fully renovated with top of the line modern amenities including private dressing rooms, state-of-the-art sound and lights, and in-house full bar services.

]]>The post Chaylin and Tayler – Knoxville Engagement Photos first appeared on 2 Hodges Photography - Knoxville Wedding Photographer.
]]>We first met Chaylin at a summer wedding where she was working with Absolute Wedding Perfection, one of Knoxville’s best wedding planning companies, so when Chaylin and her fiance, Tayler, contacted us for their July 2017 wedding, we were beyond excited to get to work with them!
For their engagement photos, we started at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, campus where Chaylin and Tayler both went to college (but they actually met back in high school!) We visited several spots that were special to them including Ayres Hall, where Tayler proposed, and the spot where they ate lunch together almost everyday. After UT, we went to Gay Street for some downtown Knoxville engagement photos with the Tennessee Theater and Gay Street bridge. We absolutely loved Chaylin’s killer black dress! We always love when our couples get a little fancy for Gay Street photos!
Chaylin and Tayler are one of the sweetest couples! Just their proposal story could melt anyone’s heart. They are currently in a contest with White Lace and Promises where Tayler tells his proposal story. We can’t help but share a few excerpts of Tayler’s words:
“I met Chay five years ago at McMinnville Country Club when we were playing high school golf together. I offered to carry her clubs to the car after the round and we instantly hit it off. Three days…and three dates later, we were a happy couple. On August 13, 2016, five years to the day after I first asked Chay to be my girlfriend, I proposed to the love of my life.
“Chay has been like a princess out of a fairy tale these past five years. I wanted to give her a proposal fit for such a princess, so I planned out the day for months and months on end. I decided to propose through a scavenger with me (and the ring) as the prize at the end. …
“I was waiting with it in hand in front of Ayres Hall on the Hill at UT. … I handed her the clue that was not really a clue. It told her to turn around and read it. The clue was a list of promises I made to Chay. I intend to keep those promises till the day I die. When she finished reading, she turned around and saw me down on one knee. I honestly have no idea what I even asked, but I know she said yes to it.”
Without a doubt, we cannot wait for this fairytale wedding day at Stonehenge Golf Club and Dorchester Country Club in Crossville, Tennessee, with some of our favorite wedding pros including Drew Holloway with Ogle Entertainment Light and Design, Echelon Florist, and Cakery Bakery.

]]>Lauren and Matt had a destination fall wedding at Christopher Place Resort, a bed and breakfast in Newport, Tennessee, that has a breathtaking view of the Smoky Mountains.
Since it was a destination wedding, we didn’t get to meet Lauren and Matt in person until their wedding day, and they and their family were some of the kindest, most welcoming people. Seeing Lauren’s emotions and excitement to marry Matt reminded us of how we felt on our wedding day. As Lauren’s dad walked her down the aisle, about half way, Lauren said, “Can I run to him now?”
While Lauren’s fall wedding was stunningly beautiful from her dress to the stunning Smoky Mountain views to the most beautiful fall florals from Lisa Foster Floral Design, their excitement to be married was by far our favorite part of the day.
We were also enamored with Christopher Place from it’s beautiful views to its charming atmosphere to its delicious food. We can’t wait to go back!
Lauren and Matt: Thank you so much for letting us capture your stunningly beautiful wedding day. We wish you a lifetime of all of the joys and love marriage can offer.
