your butt in the grass or sand, long and lazy afternoons that turn into nights…
Any basket will do, flip in all your yummy goodies, some nice bowls, a lovely blanket and set!

The glowing mornings and the mellow eves,
The strange shells scattered on the golden sands,

Unscathed, the surf outside the coral strands.
Love we the blaze of color, the rich red
Of broad tiled-roof and turban, the bright green
Of plantain-frond and paddy-field, nor dread
The fierceness of the noon. The sky serene,
The chill-less air, quaint sights, and tropic trees,
Seem like a dream fulfilled of lotus-ease.

My love for India started 25 years ago.
Backpacking for almost a year through its villages, cities, beaches and mountains,
young and curious, fearless and without a schedule…sensation of ultimate freedom, it made a huge impact on me.

India is believed to be the oldest center of indigo dyeing. For centuries it was the only blue textile dye.
When trade routes opened in the 1500s, Europeans discovered tropical Indigo and over the next 300 years, it became a valuable commodity in world trade.
Nowadays, outside the industrial world, in traditional societies, indigo dyeing continues to be culturally and artistically important and
luckily in many places it still survives giving the world the most beautiful creations.
Feathers, shells, rocks, bones, pebbles, brenches, stones, driftwood…there are so many wonders that you can find along your walks in nature.
Bring them home and display your finds, on a shelf in your bookcase or put them in a glass box,
it is not only beautiful to look at but it brings you back tuns of lovely memories.

They first became popular during the Northern Renaissance, where amateur and professional scientists once kept their most prized specimens hidden away,
society-folk now possessed the flashiest and rarest finds, and proudly displayed them for all to see.
Though the traditional Wonder-Rooms still existed in Victorian times,
they were mostly the realm of royalty and academic institutions.
The tradition of a personal collection to show off reached the newly burgeoning middle class,
and the singular glass “curio cabinet” with one’s most prized collection items skyrocketed in popularity.⟩

It’s september and we slowly drift down the rivers of the Dordogne,
The scenery is incredible with castles and idyllic villages in the green hillsides and cliffs dropping in this beautiful river.
We watch dragonflies and kingfishers and are lovingly lazy, enjoying the essence of life.
Life here is calm and peaceful.

Nevertheless it is still so much fun and now and then you get lucky and find a unique piece for a good price. I love the atomsphere in the market, the dealing, the bread and wine at 10 am, cardplaying, smoking merchants and lots of laughs and tall tales.
