What is CleanFree Glass?
CleanFree glass is specifically designed to eliminate frequent, strenuous exterior glass cleaning. CleanFree is an application added during manufacturing that repels water and prevents the glass surface from being exposed to harsh elements that lead to damage and corrosion. CleanFree fills in the open pores of the surface of the glass, making the glass clean and smooth at a microscopic level! This helps your windows stay clean for a much longer period of time.

]]>- CleanFree glass is specifically designed to eliminate frequent, strenuous exterior glass cleaning. CleanFree is an application added during manufacturing process that repels water and prevents the glass surface from being exposed to harsh elements that lead to damage and corrosion.
- Our Grids or Muntins (decorative bars) are between the glass panes that create the appearance of a divided window design.
- A Lite is a segment of a window that admits light. For example, a 3-lite slider window consists of two operable sashes and one picture window in the center, and each of these parts is a lite.
- A Nailing Flange is used to attach windows to new construction.
- The R5 Triple Pane Windows have a U-Value of .20 and come with krypton gas between the panes, Low-E glass on both outside and inside panes, and of course come with 3 glass panes.
- Tempered Glass is designed for added safety. When tempered glass breaks it shatters into small pieces instead of large, sharp pieces of glass.
- The United Inches – or UI – are an easy way of measuring windows where you just add the width and the height of the window to get the UI value. For example, a window that is 40″ wide and 60″ tall would be 100 UI. UI units are sometimes used for pricing.
- V-Groove Glass is decorative etched glass patterns and designs precisely machine cut to give windows a refined look both inside and out, creating prisms of light.
- When configuring multi-part windows the Window Ratio tells you what proportion each part is. For example, a 3-lite casement window has 3 horizontal sections, and the left and right sections can be the same size as the middle, or the left and right can be smaller. A window ratio of “1/3, 1/3, 1/3” would have 3 sections that are the same size, while a window ratio of “1/4, 1/2, 1/4” would have smaller left and right sides.
