Au départ du Vallon du Riou (au pied de l'Arpille) puis le longeant dans la forêt jusqu'au lieu-dit "l'Hôpital", ce circuit permet d'atteindre la piste qui mène au col de Baratus et son point de vue sur le Mercantour. Là, pistes et sentiers permettent de descendre vers la petite route (D5), vers le Défens, après la traversée du vallon des Lones (un peu bourbeux !).</div>
