8 Untapped Ceramic Export Markets Indian Manufacturers

India’s ceramic industry has become a global success story. With Morbi emerging as one of the world’s largest ceramic manufacturing clusters and India firmly established as the second-largest producer and exporter of ceramic tiles, manufacturers are now looking beyond their traditional export destinations.

Markets such as the United States, the UAE, and Russia continue to generate substantial export revenue. However, the next decade will be shaped by countries that are only beginning to experience rapid urbanization, infrastructure expansion, and rising demand for modern construction materials.

How Indian Manufacturers Can Enter These Markets Successfully
How Indian Manufacturers Can Enter These Markets Successfully

Entering a new export market requires more than competitive pricing. Companies that succeed typically combine product quality with local market knowledge.

Key strategies include:

  • Partner with experienced regional distributors.
  • Participate in international construction and building-material exhibitions.
  • Offer country-specific product collections based on local design preferences.
  • Obtain internationally recognized certifications required by each market.
  • Invest in digital marketing and multilingual product catalogues.
  • Develop reliable after-sales and technical support for distributors.

Looking Beyond Price Competition

Competing only on price is becoming increasingly difficult.

Today’s international buyers are evaluating suppliers based on several additional factors, including:

  • Sustainable manufacturing practices
  • Large-format porcelain capabilities
  • Digital printing technology
  • Consistent product quality
  • Reliable logistics
  • Faster lead times
  • ESG compliance
  • Design innovation

Indian manufacturers that invest in these capabilities will be better positioned to win long-term export contracts.

Today's international buyers

The future of India’s ceramic exports will not be defined solely by traditional markets. While established destinations remain important, the greatest opportunities over the next decade are likely to emerge in fast-growing economies where urbanization, infrastructure development, and housing demand are accelerating.

Countries such as Brazil, Indonesia, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Morocco, Peru, and Nigeria offer Indian ceramic manufacturers the chance to diversify their export portfolios and establish an early presence before these markets become highly competitive.

For exporters willing to invest in local partnerships, product adaptation, and long-term brand building, these untapped destinations could become the next engines of growth—helping Indian ceramics strengthen their position as a preferred global sourcing choice well beyond 2030.

As Lebanon continues its efforts toward recovery and economic renewal, Project Lebanon 2026 and Interiors Lebanon 2026 will take place from 29 September to 2 October 2026 at the Seaside Arena, Beirut New Waterfront, positioning themselves as key platforms supporting the country’s reconstruction and investment landscape.

Now in its 27th edition, Project Lebanon remains the region’s leading exhibition for construction, infrastructure, and renewable energy, offering direct access to a market shaped by urgent rebuilding needs and evolving investment opportunities.

Running concurrently, Interiors Lebanon 2026, now in its third edition, will highlight the growing role of interior design and fit-out solutions in Lebanon’s recovery, bringing together designers, architects, manufacturers, and decision-makers to explore new business prospects.

Lebanon continues to face significant reconstruction requirements following successive crises.

Project Lebanon 2026

A World Bank assessment published in March 2025 estimated recovery and reconstruction needs at approximately $11 billion, with total economic losses reaching $14 billion, including $6.8 billion in physical damage. The housing sector alone accounted for more than $4.6 billion in losses.

These figures are expected to rise as new damage assessments emerge following recent developments in 2026, further reinforcing demand across construction, infrastructure, and interior works.

Project Lebanon 2026 will showcase a wide range of solutions tailored to the country’s rebuilding needs, including construction materials, infrastructure technologies, and energy solutions. The exhibition offers participants the opportunity to:

  • Engage with key public and private sector stakeholders
  • Access major reconstruction and infrastructure projects
  • Participate in B2B matchmaking initiatives
  • Gain insights into market trends and emerging opportunities

Supported by ongoing initiatives such as the Lebanon Emergency Assistance Project (LEAP)—a $1 billion programme focused on rehabilitating critical infrastructure—the event reflects sustained activity in areas such as road rehabilitation, debris removal, and municipal services.

As reconstruction extends beyond structural work, demand for interior solutions continues to grow. Interiors Lebanon 2026 will showcase innovations in furniture, lighting, décor, and fit-out systems, addressing the needs of housing rehabilitation, hospitality upgrades, and commercial developments.

The exhibition underscores the importance of interior works as a key component of reconstruction, with each rebuilt or repaired space generating additional demand for finishing and furnishing solutions.

Both exhibitions will be held at the Seaside Arena, a centrally located venue just 15 minutes from Beirut International Airport. With over 25,000 sqm of multifunctional space, the venue is equipped to host exhibitions, conferences, and high-level networking events.

As Lebanon moves forward, reconstruction remains a central driver of economic activity. Project Lebanon 2026 and Interiors Lebanon 2026 aim to facilitate collaboration, attract investment, and support the rebuilding process by connecting industry stakeholders and showcasing innovative solutions.

Together, the events offer a timely platform to contribute to Lebanon’s recovery while unlocking new opportunities for growth across construction, infrastructure, and design sectors.

]]>

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued trust, support, and association with our company. Your partnership has been instrumental in our growth, and we remain committed to delivering high-quality ceramic products while maintaining the standards and service you expect from us.

Over the past several months, the ceramic industry has been facing significant challenges due to the continuous rise in manufacturing and operational costs. The prices of essential raw materials used in ceramic production have increased substantially, creating a considerable impact on the overall cost structure of our products. In addition, the sharp increase in fuel prices, including natural gas, diesel, and petrol, has further escalated transportation and logistics expenses across the supply chain.

Furthermore, costs associated with packaging materials, labor, maintenance, electricity, and other production-related activities have also witnessed a steady rise. Despite our consistent efforts to absorb these additional expenses and maintain existing pricing, the current market conditions have made it increasingly difficult to continue operating without revising our prices.

After careful evaluation and consideration of all available options, we have made the unavoidable decision to implement a price increase across selected product categories, effective from 1st June 2026.

Revised Price Structure

600×1200 mm Wall & Floor Tiles

Price Increase: ₹5 per Sq. Ft.

Large-format tiles continue to experience rising production costs due to higher raw material consumption, increased energy usage during manufacturing, and elevated transportation expenses. Therefore, a price increase of ₹5 per square foot will be applicable.

300×450 mm Wall Tiles

Price Increase: ₹30 per Box

The manufacturing and distribution costs associated with wall tiles have increased considerably. To partially offset these rising expenses, the price of 300×450 mm wall tiles will be revised upward by ₹30 per box.

Vitrified Floor Tiles

Price Increase: ₹50 per Box

Vitrified tiles require specialised production processes and premium-grade raw materials. The significant increase in raw material and fuel costs has directly affected their production cost, resulting in a price increase of ₹50 per box.

New Trade Policy

In addition to the price revision, we would also like to inform all customers and business associates about an important update to our trade policy.

Considering the current financial environment, market uncertainties, and increasing working capital requirements, all future transactions will be conducted on a 100% Advance Payment Basis.

This policy has been introduced to ensure smoother operations, better financial management, and an uninterrupted supply of products to our valued customers. We believe this step will help us maintain stability while continuing to provide consistent product quality and timely service.

Our Commitment

While these changes are necessary, our commitment to quality, innovation, customer satisfaction, and reliable service remains unchanged. We understand that price revisions can impact business planning, and therefore we have taken this decision only after thorough assessment and under unavoidable circumstances.

We assure you that we will continue to focus on delivering superior ceramic products, maintaining product excellence, and strengthening our long-term business relationships.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding, cooperation, and continued support during this period. Together, we look forward to overcoming these challenges and building a stronger future.

From Import to Decision

Understanding Pricing Logic, Supply Chains, and Competitive Positioning

Beyond Demand: How Romania Actually Buys

If Part 1 established that Romania is a responsive and evolving market,
Part 2 focuses on a more critical question:

How do Romanian buyers actually make sourcing decisions?

On-ground meetings with importers and distributors reveal that purchasing is not random.

It follows a structured evaluation across three layers:

  • Price vs Perceived Value
  • Supply Reliability
  • Market Fit (Design + Range)
Romania tile & Sanitaryware Manufacturers
Romania Tile & Sanitaryware

This transforms sourcing from a transactional activity into a calculated business decision.

The Import Structure: A Multi-Country Strategy

Romania is not dependent on a single sourcing country.

Instead, it operates on a diversified import model:

Spain & Italy
  • Design leadership
  • Premium positioning
  • Strong brand perception
Turkey
  • Competitive pricing
  • Fast delivery
  • Strong presence in mid-market
China
  • Aggressive pricing
  • Wide product range
  • Volume-driven supply
India (Emerging Position)
  • Competitive pricing with improving quality
  • Increasing acceptance
  • Still in perception-building phase

This structure shows a clear pattern:

Romanian buyers are not replacing one country with another; they are balancing risk, price, and product mix.

Pricing Reality: What the Market Actually Accepts

One of the biggest misconceptions exporters have:

“Lower price wins the order.”

That is not entirely true in Romania.

From importer discussions, pricing is evaluated in context of:

Romania Tile & Sanitaryware Manufacturers
Romania Tile
  • Product quality consistency
  • Surface finish and design
  • Packaging standards
  • Breakage risk
  • Delivery timelines

In practical terms:

  • Ultra-low pricing → raises trust concerns
  • Slightly higher but stable pricing → preferred

The key shift:

Romania is a value-sensitive market, not a price-only market.

Freight, Logistics, and the Hidden Decision Factor

Logistics plays a more important role than many exporters assume.

Buyers actively consider:

  • Transit time
  • Container optimization
  • Freight cost fluctuations
  • Port handling reliability

Compared to competitors:

  • Turkey benefits from geographic proximity
  • Spain/Italy benefit from intra-Europe logistics ease
  • India must compete through planning + consistency

This means:

India cannot always win on speed but it can win on predictability and cost-to-value ratio.

Where Deals Are Won (and Lost)

Direct conversations reveal a clear pattern in decision-making:

Deals are won when

Romania Tile Manufacturers
Romania Tile

Direct conversations reveal a clear pattern in decision-making:

Deals are won when:

  • Samples match actual shipment quality
  • Communication is fast and clear
  • Product range fits local demand
  • Pricing is stable over time

The Mid-Market Battlefield

The most competitive and important segment in Romania is:

Mid-Market (Value-Engineered Segment)

This is where:

  • Turkish suppliers are strong
  • European brands maintain presence
  • Indian suppliers can scale aggressively

Buyer expectations in this segment:

  • Modern design (not outdated patterns)
  • Reliable finishing quality
  • Competitive but not unrealistic pricing
  • Consistent supply across orders

This segment is not about cheapest product.

It is about:
“maximum value within a controlled price range.”

Sanitaryware & Faucet Insight: A Parallel Opportunity

While tiles dominate volume, sanitaryware and faucets show a different pattern:

  • Higher sensitivity to design and finish
  • Strong influence of European brands
  • Increasing demand for modern, minimal aesthetics

However, importers indicated:

There is room for new suppliers in:

  • Mid-range sanitaryware
  • Water-efficient fittings
  • Contemporary designs at competitive pricing

This mirrors the same opportunity seen in tiles—
but with higher emphasis on branding and presentation.

India’s Position: From Trial Orders to Strategic Supply

India is already present in Romania.

But the current stage is:

Trial-based engagement → not yet full-scale dominance

To move forward, exporters must shift from:

  • Price-led pitching
    → to
  • System-based supply approach

This includes:

  • Consistent production quality
  • Market-relevant designs
  • Reliable communication
  • Long-term pricing discipline

Only then does India move from:
“alternative supplier” → “preferred partner”

The Role of Ceramic Focus in Trade Conversion

At this stage of the market, connection alone is not enough.

Structured engagement becomes essential.

Through:

  • Direct importer meetings
  • Market surveys
  • Buyer identification

Ceramic Focus enables:

  • Filtering serious buyers
  • Understanding real sourcing needs
  • Preparing manufacturers before entry

This reduces:

  • Trial-and-error exports
  • Misaligned expectations
  • Lost opportunities
From Market Understanding to Deal Execution

Once buyer interest reaches a certain level,
the next logical step is:

Buyer–Seller Meets

These create:

  • Direct negotiation platforms
  • Faster product evaluation
  • Immediate business discussions

For Romanian buyers:

  • Reduced sourcing risk

For Indian manufacturers:

Faster market penetration

Conclusion: Romania Is a Calculated Market, Not an Easy One

Romania does not operate on impulse buying.

It is a structured, evaluation-driven market.

Success depends on:

  • Understanding price vs value balance
  • Delivering consistent quality
  • Building importer confidence
  • Adapting to real market demand

The opportunity is real—

But only for those who approach the market
with discipline, not assumptions.

A Market Observed on the Ground From Showroom Floors to Importer Conversations — Understanding Romania’s Real Demand Signals

Why Romania Requires On-Ground Understanding

In industry reports, markets are often defined by data. But in sectors like tiles and sanitaryware, real understanding begins on the showroom floor. During a recent market visit across Romania, including:

  • Showroom walkthroughs
  • Importer and distributor meetings
  • Direct product discussions

a clearer picture emerged—one that cannot be captured through statistics alone. Romania is not just a European market. It is a decision-making ecosystem shaped by visibility, trust, and physical evaluation.

What the Showrooms Actually Reveal

Across multiple cities, showroom visits revealed a consistent pattern: These are not warehouse-style outlets.

They function as:

  • Design presentation spaces
  • Brand positioning platforms
  • Customer experience environments

Products are displayed in:

  • Complete bathroom setups
  • Coordinated tile concepts
  • Lifestyle-driven layouts

This directly influences buyer expectations.

Sanitaryware Market

The decision is no longer:
“What is cheapest?”

It is increasingly:
“What fits the space, design, and quality expectation?”

Importer Conversations: The Real Buying Criteria

Face-to-face engagements between the Ceramic Focus Team and importers revealed a marked evolution in perspective, reflecting a clear shift in strategic priorities and decision-making frameworks.

Buyers are increasingly evaluating suppliers based on:

  • Consistency and reliability of supply
  • Stability of quality across shipments
  • Competitive yet sustainable pricing
  • Flexibility and adaptability of product range
  • Communication reliability

A key insight emerged:
Romanian importers are receptive to exploring new sourcing markets, but this openness is contingent upon trust established through direct interaction. This reinforces a fundamental industry principle:

  • Emails introduce opportunities
  • Meetings drive conversions
  • Personal communication is reserved for critical situations
Romania Tile & Sanitaryware Market

Market Reality: Between Price Sensitivity and Design Demand

Romania sits in a unique position within Europe.

It is neither:

  • A purely price-driven emerging market

nor

  • A fully premium Western European market

Instead, it operates in a balanced middle zone.

On-ground observations confirm three active segments:

  • Entry-Level: Still present, but highly competitive
  • Mid-Market: Fastest growing and most active
  • Premium: Smaller, but strongly design-driven

The most important takeaway: The Romanian market is not shifting away from price sensitivity it is adding design and quality on top of it.

Product Observations from Physical Displays

Direct showroom exposure revealed:

  • Large-format tiles gaining visibility
  • Neutral tones and natural textures dominating
  • Matte finishes preferred over glossy in many displays
  • Coordinated bathroom concepts increasing

In sanitaryware and fittings:

  • Modern, minimal designs are preferred
  • Functional simplicity with aesthetic appeal
  • Increasing visibility of sensor-based or water-efficient products

This aligns Romania with broader European trends— but with careful cost consideration.

The Gap: Where Indian Manufacturers Can Fit

From multiple interactions, a consistent gap emerged.

Importers are looking for:

  • Reliable mid-range suppliers
  • Consistent quality at scale
  • Flexible product customization
  • Faster response cycles

This is where Morbi-based manufacturers can strongly position themselves.

Not as:
the cheapest option

But as:
the most dependable value-driven partner

Romania Tile

The Importance of Physical Market Presence

One of the strongest insights from this visit:

Presence changes perception.

Activities such as:

  • Visiting importer offices
  • Presenting catalogs in person
  • Discussing requirements face-to-face

create immediate credibility.

In multiple cases, conversations moved from:
introduction → serious sourcing discussion

within a single meeting.

This cannot be replicated digitally.

The Role of Ceramic Focus in Market Development

This is where structured industry platforms become critical.

By:

  • Visiting markets like Romania
  • Meeting importers directly
  • Distributing industry magazines
  • Conducting real-time surveys

Ceramic Focus acts as a bridge between Morbi manufacturers and international buyers.

More importantly, it enables:

  • Identification of serious buyers
  • Understanding real market demand
  • Creating trust before trade begins
Trade opportunities for Indian manufacturers.

From Market Visit to Trade Opportunity

The objective of such visits is not just observation. It is conversion. When a sufficient number of interested buyers and verified manufacturer – are identified,
the next step becomes:

  • Organizing Buyer–Seller Meets
  • Bringing selected Romanian importers together
  • Connecting them with verified Indian manufacturers

This creates:

  • Faster decision-making
  • Direct negotiation opportunities

Long-term trade relationships

Conclusion: A Market That Responds to Engagement

Romania is not a passive market. It is a responsive market.

It reacts to:

  • Presence
  • Product understanding
  • Relationship building

The biggest takeaway from on-ground experience: Opportunities in Romania do not come from visibility alone – they come from engagement.

Ceramics are more than just a material: They are a silent driver of technological progress—often hidden, but indispensable. Whether in the energy transition, medical technology, or mobility, many innovations would not be possible without ceramic solutions. The central role they play was impressively demonstrated at ceramitec, held in Munich from March 24 to 26, 2026..

Over three days, the trade fair halls once again became the international meeting place for an industry with a close-knit global network: With 485 exhibitors from 38 countries and a 66 percent share of international exhibitors, ceramitec underscored its global significance. Around 120 companies were either newcomers or returning after a long absence. Spread over 33,000 square meters, the industry presented its entire spectrum—from traditional ceramics to highly specialized applications to the total of around 12,000 visitors from 74 countries.

Collin Davis, Executive Director of Capital Goods Shows, is pleased with the positive result: “The increased number of exhibitors, the strong international presence, and the return of many companies clearly show how relevant the trade fair is for the industry. We are delighted that the repositioning was so well received.” Dr. Jürgen Blumm, CEO Business Unit Analyzing & Testing at Netzsch and Chairman of the ceramitec Advisory Board, certainly agrees with that: “ceramitec 2026 got off to an excellent start for us. Despite the difficult geopolitical environment, we had considerably more visitors at our stand. Interest in new technologies and innovations in the field of ceramic materials remains high.”

Maritta Lepp, Exhibition Director of ceramitec, adds: “We are very pleased with the positive feedback from our exhibitors. In particular, the high quality of the discussions, making new contacts, and the clear focus on relevant topics were highlighted. The shortened duration also proved to be the right decision—it helped make the trade fair more dynamic and efficient.

Marketplace for user industries

ceramitec has also further enhanced its role as a central marketplace for user industries. It brings suppliers and users together strategically, and shows how high-performance ceramics can meet specific industrial challenges—from energy efficiency and protection against wear to new fields of application in high-tech industries.

Ceramitec Exhibtion

This opinion is also shared by international companies who specifically use the trade fair to expand their business relationships. Richard Gaignon, CEO at 3DCeram, says: “What makes ceramitec truly special is its strong focus on technical ceramics and high-performance materials. It is a unique platform in Europe for bringing together key players from across the technical ceramics ecosystem.”

That clearly shows that the trade fair is not just a presentation space, but acts as a connecting element across the entire industry. For Dr. Lars Schnetter, Managing Director at Schunk Ingenieurkeramik, “ceramitec impressively demonstrates how technologically diverse and at the same time fit for the future our industry is—from traditional ceramics to high-tech aerospace applications. It is the place where the entire industry becomes visible and its technological relevance is communicated to the outside world.”

Focus on heavy clay ceramics

Traditionally, heavy clay ceramics were once again an important part of ceramitec and stood for the industrial importance of ceramic applications in construction. In the new hall concept for A4, the area was enhanced by a central catering space as a meeting point, which promoted exchange and improved visitor guidance. Karl Liedel, Sales Director at Lingl Solead, confirms: “ceramitec 2026 once again offered us an outstanding platform for meeting our worldwide partners and customers face to face. The new hall concept ensured a considerably higher volume of visitor traffic in the hall.”

High quality and strong business platform

ceramitec also impressed with its high level of professional quality and its role as an international business platform. Decision-makers from industry, research and user industries made strategic use of the trade fair for specific project discussions and to look for partnerships, as Thomas Nogueira, CEO at Arc Impact (Desktop Metal), confirms: “With its exceptional technical depth and strong application focus, ceramitec enables high-quality, forward-looking dialogue with partners and customers from around the world, which we consider a key highlight of the event.”

This opinion is also backed up by the visitor structure, which combines a particularly high degree of expertise and decision-making authority. Andrea Pasquali, CEO at Keller HCW, says: “What makes ceramitec valuable is not just the number of people attending, but the level of expertise and decision-making responsibility you find here. You meet people who are actively shaping investment decisions, technology roadmaps and production strategies. That is exactly the kind of audience we want to engage with. What I especially value at ceramitec is that it combines business relevance with inspiration.”

Conference program provides impetus

In the meantime, the ceramitec conference program addressed future topics and served as an important platform for knowledge transfer. The focus was on decarbonization and energy-efficient production, digitalization along the process chain, additive manufacturing, and new applications in the areas of energy, environmental technology, medical technology, and mobility. Formats such as the “ceramitec talks”, guided tours, and networking offerings promoted an interdisciplinary exchange between industry, research, and young talent.

The fact that these topics strike a chord with the industry and play a major role in shaping the discussions is also underscored by Thiago Boscolo Costa, Vice President at Saint-Gobain Performance Ceramics and Refractories: “This year’s discussions confirm a strong focus on improving process efficiency and addressing sustainability challenges in high-temperature industries, making it a key space to share perspectives and align on future priorities.”

Ceramitec Product

In closing, Dr. Johannes Homa, CEO at Lithoz puts it in a nutshell: “For us, ceramitec is not just the global leading trade fair for this material. Our involvement at ceramitec also means ‘coming home’. It is the strong home base for our entire industry.”

The next ceramitec will be held in Munich from April 25 to 27, 2028.

From 3-5 February over 6,000 visitors flocked to London’s Business Design Centre where over 180 exhibitors showcased the best in surface and material innovation. An expanded programme saw visitors enjoy the return of popular features such as Surface Spotlight, the Innovation Gallery, Green Grads and Surface Design Awards. New for 2026 was a collaboration with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) which hosted two major events during the show. As well as discovering the best in materiality for the built environment visitors also had the chance to join a range of diverse talks with over 50 speakers spanning the full breadth of the industry. New for 2026 was the Workshop Stage which gave visitors a chance to get hands on with materials in guided workshops.

The opening night debate at the Surface Design Show led by Katie Treggiden, award winning journalist and author of Wasted: When Trash Becomes Treasure, delivered a powerful presentation on the Main Stage. Her keynote was centred on the idea of waste being a category rather than an immutable fact, suggesting that used objects can be recategorised as exciting new raw materials. This forward-thinking approach kicked off the event’s 2026 theme of ‘Material Evolution’ and led into a lively debate regarding the future of waste streams. Treggiden chaired a panel of designers and creators to investigate if waste is truly the raw material of the future or if creating new demand for it created a new set of problems. As a featured speaker among the industry’s most innovative voices, her insights provided a moment for visitors to reflect and feel inspired within the acoustic and sensory-focused design of the Main Stage. By challenging standard definitions of discarded items, she highlighted how redefining materials is essential to the design industry’s progress. The opening night debate was then followed by drinks hosted by Stone Federation and Rehau, bringing a buzz to the first night of the show.

This year’s Surface Design Awards were hosted by Hotel Travel Editor and Owner and Director of Kilburn Communications, Hamish Kilburn. The evening was a great success, with awards being dominated by Studio RAP for Lighting, Hospitality, Public Realm and Facades categories and Agri-fruit-bag by Liza C Design for Regenerative Design, Innovation and Sustainability categories. Liza C Design also claimed Supreme Winner and David McGill was awarded the very first Emerging Talent Award with his project Ruvi Acoustic Tile.

The British Institute of Interior Design hosted a networking breakfast on the Wednesday and Commercial Interiors UK hosted a breakfast on the Thursday. With both events being well attended and allowing attendees to mix with a wide range of industry professionals.

The VIP lounge, designed by Justine Fox, was jam-packed for the duration of the show, with the theme ‘Colouring Circularity’ targeting waste capture, Justine worked with brands who used offcuts and waste to make the furnishings for the space. With zones implemented to separate the bustle of the front of the room from the calmer back of the room for a more inclusive design, the VIP lounge was a hotspot at this year’s show.

In keeping with the 2026 theme of ‘Material Evolution’ a new feature of this year’s show was the Sustainability Trail with members including Artstone Panel Systems and Surface Matter. The trail allowed visitors to scan a QR code at each participating stand and gain access to information about the unique sustainability angles of each exhibitor.

Standout exhibitors included Artstone panel Systems, Surface Matter, A Cimenteria Do Louro S.A, Mundy Veneer and Wonderwall Studios.

Artstone Panel Systems brought a compelling international perspective to the Business Design Centre, showcasing an extensive range of wall solutions that perfectly embodied the show’s Material Evolution theme. Their display was a highlight for visitors, drawing significant interest with their Arcquitone panels and the atmospheric, nature-inspired palettes of the Nevada, Dusk and Nimbus collections.

At this year’s show, A Cimenteria Do Louro S.A. (ACL) commanded significant attention at their stand, embodying this year’s theme of ‘Material Evolution’ through their innovative approach to concrete. The Portuguese brand, which carries a 48-year legacy in technical knowledge and architecture, showcased a diverse range of products including their Design Line wall coverings and Marmocim real terrazzo slabs. Their showstopper was their sample of Slimcrete, a flexible concrete which has been subjected to extreme testing, including trials in space. This groundbreaking material garnered lots of attention at the show, demonstrating how traditional concrete can be transformed into a high-performance, adaptable solution for modern interior and exterior design.

Wonderwall Studios also made a significant impact at the 2026 Surface Design Show, contributing to the event’s overarching theme of ‘Material Evolution’. Their display was centred on their unique reclaimed wooden wall panels, which stood out as a primary example of how salvaged materials can be repurposed into high-end architectural features. As specialists in both wood and wall coverings, the studio attracted attention for their ability to transform weathered timber into artistic, textured surfaces that align with the industry’s shift toward sustainable and eco-friendly materials.

Mundy Veneer offered a masterclass in natural beauty and technical expertise, showcasing why they are a leading partner for luxury commercial and residential interiors. With an expansive library of over 900 individual veneers across 160 species, the company captivated visitors with its exclusive collection of Tabu Italy pre-dyed and engineered veneers. A major highlight of their display was the introduction of two new colour collections:

BLOOM – a collection of dyed veneers in sophisticated, soft, gentle shades, stronger than pastels and designed to be combined in eclectic, characterful interiors.

EARTH – a selection of earthy neutrals in dark, moody colours, to create a sense of enveloping comfort and a touch of understated drama.

Bringing over 30 years of specialist knowledge to the show, Mundy Veneer successfully balanced aesthetic innovation with rigorous sustainability due diligence.
