Ozzfest is returning in 2027 with three confirmed dates in the UK, US, and Mexico. Promoted by Live Nation, the festival kicks off July 10th at Milton Keynes’ National Bowl, followed by San Bernardino’s Glen Helen Amphitheater on September 11, and Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros on September 18 — the festival’s first-ever Mexican stop. Full lineups will be revealed in coming months. Co-founder Sharon Osbourne said the revival honors her late husband’s vision. “Ozzy was the first to launch his own traveling metal festival, and Ozzfest will always remain an important part of Ozzy’s legacy,” she said. Son Jack Osbourne confirmed the event will be a single-day format. Sharon also hinted at plans for a full touring edition in 2028. Story URL

Ozzfest has launched a countdown clock set to expire Thursday, November 5th at 10 a.m. ET, hinting at a major announcement for the rebooted metal festival. The hard rock touring event, originally launched by Ozzy Osbourne in 1996, has been teasing fans for weeks with cryptic social media posts. Ozzy’s widow and manager, Sharon Osbourne, confirmed earlier this year she had been in talks with Live Nation about reviving the festival. “It was something Ozzy was very passionate about: giving young talent a stage in front of a lot of people,” she said. Ozzfest has already confirmed a stop at Villa Park in Birmingham, U.K., plus the first U.S. dates in nearly a decade. The festival last took place in 2018 at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Elton John’s 1989 single “Sacrifice” has joined YouTube’s billion-views club, becoming the first of his videos to reach the milestone. The maudlin track from his 22nd studio album, Sleeping with the Past, peaked at just No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100. Its video, directed by Alex Keshishian — known for Madonna: Truth or Dare — stars singer/songwriter Chris Isaak and supermodel Yasmeen Ghauri as a struggling married couple. Surprisingly, “Sacrifice” outpaced all of John’s other videos by a wide margin. John, 79, retired from touring following his legendary Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, spanning more than five years, 330 shows, and officially ending July 8, 2023. Story URL

Representatives for Lenny Kravitz dismissed rumors that the singer died in a Florida plane crash as “untrue and incorrect.” The Learjet 60, carrying nine people, went down in Cresthaven, Florida on November 1 while traveling from Austin, Texas to the Bahamas. All nine aboard perished, including co-pilot Nathalia Filgueiras. False speculation spread after a female pilot’s since-deleted social media post incorrectly linked Kravitz to the flight. Before crashing, an unidentified pilot reported “light, clear ice” on the aircraft, then began broadcasting a mayday signal as the plane descended between 10,000 and 20,000 feet per minute. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis called the crash “cataclysmic,” saying it “looked like a missile going down.” The FAA and NTSB are investigating. Story URL
Comedian Bill Burr told the crowd on Thursday that Aerosmith’s Hollywood Bowl concerts would mark the “final two shows in Aerosmith’s history.” However, Steven Tyler disputed that claim on Sunday, telling the audience, “You can’t get rid of Aerosmith. At the end of the f***ing world, there will only be cockroaches, Aerosmith, and, I guess, Bill Burr.” Sunday’s concert also featured several special guests, including Alice In Chains, Tom Morello, Lzzy Hale, and Run-DMC, who joined the band for “Walk This Way.” Story URL

The singer was hospitalized before the band’s October 31 show at Leipzig’s QI Arena, forcing cancellations there and in Hamburg. Gillan addressed fans directly, writing: “I had a medical problem whilst in Leipzig which required urgent attention at the hospital. I was hoping that I would get the all-clear to hang on until the end of the tour, but there are very serious risks involved in me doing so.” Over 20 dates across Germany, France, the Netherlands, the UK, and Latin America have now been postponed until further notice. The nature of his medical condition has not been disclosed. Story URL
Turnstile turned down an invitation to open for Metallica on tour, Metallica frontman James Hetfield revealed on Riff Life. “We wanted to get them on tour and they said no. They’re doing good on their own already,” Hetfield said. The rejection didn’t dampen his enthusiasm for the band. “What a vibe they bring. They are so fun. Go see them play if you can,” he added. Hetfield went viral in 2024 watching Turnstile perform at Norway’s Tons of Rock festival. Metallica’s 2027 North American stadium tour will instead feature Limp Bizkit and Avatar as openers, kicking off May 8 in Vancouver across 12 cities. The band is currently focused on their Las Vegas Sphere residency. Story URL
Queen guitarist Brian May is downplaying speculation about a potential Las Vegas Sphere residency. Speaking to Rolling Stone, May said he has no concrete updates on the long-rumored plans. “I don’t even know where we are on that. I really don’t. Things change so fast,” he said. May acknowledged his interest in a 360-degree immersive music experience but stressed it would differ from ABBA’s Sphere show. “We have a different history and a different path,” he explained. May also addressed recent touring rumors, clarifying he is simply enjoying a personal break. “I’m getting to see my kids, my grandchildren, and do projects I’ve dreamed of doing,” he said. He did not rule out future touring but confirmed he won’t commit to lengthy road schedules again. Story URL

A rare 1962 handwritten letter from Rolling Stones founder Brian Jones, inviting Charlie Watts to join the band, is heading to auction in December with an estimated value of $70,000 to $80,000. Watts’ family preserved the note at his childhood home, where he worked in advertising and played with Alexis Korner’s Blues Incorporated. At the time of writing, the Stones had no permanent name, no bassist, and relied on temporary drummers. Jones wrote, “If you are not going to work with Alex in the future, and still want to play R&B, we are looking for a good drummer.” Watts took seven months to accept. Sotheby’s expert Craig Inciardi called it a document that brings us “close to the formation of a legendary band.” Bidding opens December 2, with the auction set for December 15. Story URL

My Chemical Romance has reportedly settled a trademark dispute with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, agreeing to stop dressing backup dancers in look-alike uniforms. The NFL cheerleaders sued the band last week, claiming dancers wore similar blue-and-white uniforms during a dystopian-themed stage routine. The lawsuit was filed by parent company Pro Silver Star after the first two shows of a five-show Hollywood Bowl residency celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Black Parade. According to TMZ, the band will continue performing the cheerleader routine — just with altered costumes. Legal experts had suggested the band likely had First Amendment protections, but MCR chose not to pursue that fight. Story URL
The Beach Boys have canceled their upcoming Epcot Center dates, with a new act called “John Stamos and the California Sound” taking their place. Neil Young has filed a $10 million lawsuit against Donald Trump’s fundraising committee for using “Rockin’ in the Free World” at an Ohio campaign rally on October 12th. Rolling Stone obtained the five-page complaint, which alleges the committee used the song knowing a license was required and that Young would not grant permission. Young’s lawyers described the track as “the opposite of everything that Donald J. Trump stands for.” This follows a 2020 settlement in which Trump allegedly agreed never to use Young’s music without permission. Trump himself was not named in the suit. The case will be heard in Virginia, where the fundraising committee is based. Other artists including Isaac Hayes’ estate and the White Stripes have also taken legal action against the Trump campaign over unauthorized music use. Story URL
Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, 59, says the nearly 26-year age gap between him and his 33-year-old wife, Chloe Mendel, is an “advantage.” Speaking on The New York Times’ Popcast, Corgan said women from Mendel’s generation weren’t “wounded” the same way as women from his own. “Her youth was an advantage because she hadn’t been wounded like so many people are,” he said. The clip has nearly one million Instagram views. Not everyone agreed with his remarks. Skunk Anansie vocalist Skin responded, “We’re not broken; we are strong and wiser, currently living our best lives.” Faith No More keyboardist Roddy Bottum simply commented, “NO.” Corgan and Mendel have been together since around 2012, according to People magazine. Jack Osbourne is taking responsibility for the public backlash surrounding plans to create an AI version of his late father, Ozzy Osbourne. Speaking on the Great Company with Jamie Laing podcast, Jack said, “The backlash, it was my own fault,” explaining he wasn’t prepared to properly describe the project. Jack and Sharon Osbourne partnered with tech company HYPERREAL in May 2026 to build a digital avatar of Ozzy. Sharon described it as a way for fans to interact with Ozzy, saying, “You can ask Ozzy anything and he will answer you in his own voice.” Jack emphasized the avatar uses a closed AI system, not connected to the internet, and stressed the family fully owns and controls the digital likeness. Speaking on the New York Times’ Popcast, Corgan said, “As a Christian person, you have to stand by your friends.” He added that the DA’s decision not to pursue several cases, combined with personal knowledge of the situation, shaped his view. “I personally didn’t feel that he was guilty,” Corgan stated, while noting, “If he’s guilty, they should go to jail.” Corgan also pushed back against public pressure, saying, “This kind of witch mob thing bothers me.” Manson denies all accusations and faces a jury trial on November 15th, 2027 regarding claims from former assistant Ashley Walters.
