We're not saying the latest episode of FX's American Horror Story, "Apocalypse Then" is a disappointment, exactly. But it sure wasn't a success. Honestly, we'd have rather gotten a "to be continued" rather than a slap dash climax with a too long and puzzling denouement that offers a breezy, cheesy Harry Potter "all is well" wrap up before immediately blowing it up. It's hard to shake the feeling that Cordelia's coven, and indeed Michael the Antichrist deserved better, to say nothing of Hawthorne's School and their Exceptional Young Men. Midway through the season we just wanted more, more! And we kept getting less, and less. Ah well, that's what we thought. How about you! Meet you back here in two so we can hash it out on the FINAL FEEDBACK FRIDAY of the season!

Cecily and A.Ron declare the latest episode of FX's American Horror Story: Apocalypse, "Fire and Reign" to be, at the very least, banging adjacent. Sure, there isn't a lot here that is new, and it's feeling more and more of a lock that next week is going to end with "TO BE CONTINUED". But, there was a lot of entertaining action, fun world building with new wrinkles of witchcraft (allowing a Romanoffs crossover!), and we feel a bit more self-awareness in the jokes and Illuminati-fueled madness. There's also a bit of talk about Mallory being the new Supreme, but we figured that out 2 weeks ago. It was nice seeing Nan raising hell with Papa Legba, too. It's a lot of demonic exposition, but it's nice to see the work load spread among the Harmon family and Constance Langdon. We get the devilish details of Michael growing up, from murderous toddler to rapid-grown Son of Satan, and a lot of those deets are truly disturbing and diabolical. This episode has some solid horror and creepy visuals and themes, smartly builds upon the show's existing Witch lore, we continue to be amused by the oppressed Warlocks, and we get more Lily Rabe and more STEVIE NICKS! We love Stevie Nicks. But we also ask, what exactly is she doing here? Like, in universe, Stevie Nicks is a witch. Who's only power seems to be enrapturing Lily Rabe. Perhaps that's enough. Still not getting much in the scare department, but if we can't get that, at least give us more of this uncloseted All-American Hogwarts!

A.Ron and Cecily are back for another season of Ryan Murphy Madness, this time in Apocalyptic form! Tonight's season opener of FX's American Horror Story: Apocalypse felt strangely paced, as it seemed we were hurried along a lot of very interesting settings to get to a weird man with flat ironed hair. Which probably means this season is going to jump around like a horseshoe rabbit on methamphetamine. LA gets nuked, two teenagers we're not sure why we should care about are ushered to a facility where the world's elite plan to ride out the fall of civilization. They might be half brothers and sisters, they may be alien babies, one of them might be the Antichrist. Billy Eichner gets vaporized before the title sequence, which delighted and bummed us each out in equal and opposite measure. Ms. Paulson and Bates play purple playtime dress up. Horses get devoured? I guess? Probably radioactive scorpions… it's just a lot to take in. We'll be back tomorrow to talk more and discuss your feedback, so please send some in so we all don't look silly.

Did Murphy pull it off with the final episode of FX's American Horror Story: Cult? Did he in fact, make AHS "Great Again?" Ehhh… But A.Ron and Cecily feel that he made a few decent points about the state of modern America, at least one cautionary tale, but mostly this episode is an Inception style mess of flashbacks and flashforwards and who knows how deep into this dream we're all in, but I'm pretty sure if we don't get out soon we'll all be stuck in limbo. We try to restore sanity to the time line before considering a heaping helping of last minute feedback from our fellow fans. Thanks for listening, it's been a fun ride!

610 – Chapter 10

We're done, and so is FX's American Horror Story for yet another year, with the release of episode 610, "Chapter 10". This episode isn't going to change your mind about the season one way or another, but we found it funny and campy even if the end ultimately didn't pay off the way it could have if almost every decision about Lee's character was the literal opposite of what the show did, but hey. You can't win them all, or lose them all, even if you're Ryan Murphy writing this crazy, crazy show. For our money, this season will be about the lack of credit sequence and some of the best genuine scares the show has managed in years. Plenty of room for people to love and hate the season, as our feedback section will attest, but maybe that's part of the fun, too? Stay tuned to Bald Move to see what Cecily and I will be up to next. If nothing else, we'll be reunited for next year's run of Orange is the New Black!

609 – Chapter 9

We talk about the lone survivor of the season, do some speculation about where the show goes as it heads into it's final week, and admire the quick recovery of Monet's spunk and moxy.

Cecily and A.Ron think that AHS season six is really bringing the scares, even if the plot and characters are still as dubious as Polk Farm Sausage. Swinging for the fences, Murphy and Co. bring a lot of death, dismemberment, and dead Mott to the proceedings, but that's not all. Thrill to Cuba embracing the darkside, chill to Matt falling to the charms of a shrieking bear monster woman, side eye a suddenly murderous Shelby, and giggle as characters film their own demise for really no damn good reason at all. Is this the Halloween episode, or is it next week? Who knows, but we'll see you in seven!

606 – Chapter 6

A.Ron and Cecily got plenty of chills and thrills in what can only be called the best episode of the season for FX's American Horror Story. And sure, that might be considered damning the show with faint praise, but that Pigman and Nurse killing action was LEGIT frightening. The pivot from pointless homage to genuine horror had us hungry for more. What's going on with Agnus? Who will be this season's lone survivor? Will Sarah Paulson out scream Evan Peters? Stay tuned to find out!

We'll see if we get filet mignon or chicken liver.

It's fitting that the worst, most disjointed American Horror Story episode (thus far!) from the "My Roanoke Nightmare" season would be an homage to the worst, most disjointed season of AHS of all time. But still, we can't help but look forward to episode six when Murphy and company have promised this season is going to go bonkers on us. Until then, we're having fun trying to wrap our heads around the bizarre decisions these terrible people are making, squirming at some of the inventive torture murders on display, and trying out the latest Cathy Bates accents. All kidding aside, other than the fact that we've seen this revelation coming, it was a perfectly fine episode of American Horror Story. Although I guess it does kind of re-contextualize Sally. And the "adultery" couple switching hotels kinda came out of no where. Never fear, we're not above resorting to multi-verse theory to explain away any troublesome retconning or rewriting Murphy has to do to bring this beast on final approach and landing. All that, our ongoing love fest for Dennis O'Hare, and a pretty healthy mailbag, and lots of opinionated opinions coming your way!

First off, I apologize for the terrible audio quality of this podcast. As I explain in the intro, I'm doing a remote podcast from Seattle and the results are kind of garbage. Speaking of garbage, that's kind of my opinion of the first half of the season premiere episode of American Horror Story: Hotel, "Checking In". Then it starts to do some character and world building in the second half and picks up. We discuss Glampires, my thoughts on a man being sodomized with a chrome plated drill bit, Gaga's eyebrows, and much more. With a bit of feedback, and a bit of spoilers at the very tail end. We got a lot of things we weren't expecting out of American Horror Story in this episode 410, "Tupperware Party Massacre". Things like audible fapping, the human wreckage of Drunk Jimmy, and a complete lack of song and dance. But we got a lot of good stuff too, primarily in Sarah Paulson's riveting performance as both Bett and Dott as they come to terms with their shared lives and loves. 408 – Blood Bath

A.Ron and Cecily are kind of lukewarm on this episode 408 of American Horror Show: Freak Show entitled "Blood Bath". Strong performances by Kathy Bates and Jessica Lange can't quite elevate the surrounding cast and material, and we were super bummed at Maggie raining on the whole revenge against Papa Candy Striper parade.
