You have brought out your attachment and respect towards the great legendary singer, in words full of heartfelt emotion as do feel millions of all of us. It is a quite thoughtfull and fitting tribute to the great departed soul that you are dedicating this years Navarathri Festival celebrations of your university to the fond memories of the departed soul.

Dear Pam,

Thank you for the multitudinous gifts you have given the CFA. I’ve enjoyed our time together and the integrity with which you have looked out for us. And I wish for you much happiness in Act Two. I use your example when I tell people that they can have their dream job if they look for it.

I also appreciate the way you run a meeting. People in my life know that I will not go to meetings because they don’t matter. At my church they know that I will go to one meeting per year, IF I get food and presents. But your meetings are worth the time!

You I’m sure I’ll see you at the concert Friday, but I want to thank you for bringing an amazingly varied program of music and dance to Wesleyan. As a members of the Middletown community, Penny Apter and I have been so appreciative of your efforts. Being able to see world class performances right in our own backyard is such a gift from you and Wesleyan. We wish you the best at Jacobs Pillow!

Omnia Hegazy was a very self possessed, relaxed and engaging performer. The musicians were fantastic, and the event was very enjoyable. Omnia was terrific in the talk-back session. I’m very glad I was able to go to this event, and it meant a lot to the Trinity students who were there as well. Thanks for doing this entire series on Muslim Women’s Voices and for going out of your way to engage the community.

Tari Aceh was energetic and inspiring. I was amazed at the beautiful costumes, the winsome, always smiling faces of the dancers, their …humility. l have traveled abroad quite a bit- was even in Indonesia for a summer as a teenager- but this dance event gave me a new appreciation of the divinity that comes when when people of good will reach out to each other through dance, sharing their cultures and faiths without having a common spoken language.

We enjoyed the show, sweet and synchronized, but we didn’t leave feeling any new affinity for the Muslim culture. The dancers, lovely and committed, as the were, could have been representing any Asian nation or culture. That we didn’t grasp that identification is, I am sure, our failure, not theirs. We are often challenged by performances at Wesleyan; sometimes we fall short.
