Last year, I wrote an article on Maugham’s “The Book Bag” and well… I was barged with questions why Maugham now!!! He is dead and buried. Anyone who has read “Of Human Bondage” or “The Razor’s Edge” cannot but be moved. But reading Maugham is out of fashion. However, Burdwan university and more recently Calcutta have introduced “The Kite” in their syllabi. Hope that is a new beginning.
