The Code 1 evolves with a new interior designed by Franck Darnet Design, now offered as the new standard for future yachts.

This evolution brings a clear step up in interior refinement while preserving the fundamentals of the Code 1: a light, high-performance and elegant sailing yacht, designed above all for the pleasure of sailing.

Previously intentionally minimalist, the interior now offers a greater sense of comfort, sophistication and warmth. Franck Darnet Design has worked on the volumes, textures and finishes to create a more refined onboard atmosphere, without compromising the simplicity that defines the yacht.

Wood, leather, fabrics, aluminium and carbon details combine in a contemporary and understated interior. Exposed carbon is used here as a visual element, echoing the technical and performance-driven character of the Code 1, while warmer materials bring greater depth and comfort to the living spaces.

The saloon, galley and sleeping areas have been designed as a coherent whole, with particular attention paid to natural light, ergonomics and the quality of the finishes. The objective is to provide a more welcoming interior for cruising while retaining the clean, purposeful character of the yacht.

As with every Black Pepper Yacht, this new interior remains highly customisable. Future owners can personalise colours, materials and equipment, as well as the number of cabins, to suit their sailing programme and individual preferences.

With this new interior, the Code 1 takes a further step towards a refined balance of performance, design, comfort and customisation.

Black Pepper Yachts at Bodenseewoche in Konstanz

From 29 to 31 May, Black Pepper Yachts will take part in Bodenseewoche in Konstanz, one of the most elegant sailing events on Lake Constance.

For this occasion, the Code 0.1 will be present on the water and available for private visits and test sails by appointment. This will be a unique opportunity to discover the yacht in real sailing conditions and experience the spirit of Black Pepper Yachts first-hand.

Designed as a high-performance carbon weekender, the Code 0.1 combines refined lines, responsive handling and a distinctive sense of style. Light, elegant and precise, she is made for owners looking for an exclusive sailing experience, both sporty and comfortable.

During Bodenseewoche, our team will be pleased to welcome visitors on board, present the yacht in detail and arrange test sails for those wishing to experience her performance on Lake Constance.

Thomas Brette, 51, has acquired Black Pepper Yachts, the renowned boutique shipyard founded in 2007 by Michel Douville de Franssu and widely recognised for its exceptional yachts. This transition marks a pivotal milestone for the company and reflects a strong commitment to preserving the Black Pepper DNA: advanced technical expertise, refined design, performance, and intelligent customisation.

Today, Black Pepper Yachts stands among the very few French shipyards capable of building premium custom yachts, from 8 to 25 metres, both monohulls and catamarans, with a level of precision and craftsmanship more commonly associated with much larger vessels. With several dozen yachts already on the water, a network of leading partners including North Sails, Multiplast, Harken, Karver, Lorima and Facnor, and a close-knit, expert and agile team, the yard embodies a rare artisanal know-how recognised in France and internationally.

“For me, Black Pepper Yachts is a multi-faceted diamond. It is both a precious legacy and a tremendous source of inspiration and passion. “By strengthening the organisation and attractiveness of the yard, I want to welcome new talent and renowned naval architects. I also intend to diversify and evolve the range — in both catamarans and one-off monohulls — without ever compromising the premium, innovative and performance-driven DNA that defines Black Pepper. This is a collective endeavour. I am listening closely to both employees and clients. My objective is straightforward: to ensure Black Pepper Yachts remains the benchmark for exceptional, high-performance, custom-built yachts made in France, while creating fresh momentum for the brand. I will be the guarantor of that ambition,” Thomas Brette adds.

Founder Michel Douville de Franssu, who remains a shareholder, will support a smooth transition over time alongside the teams, owners and partners.
