Beau was abandoned in a vacant home for weeks, left alone with severe injuries and no one to care for him. By the time he was found, he was barely hanging on.
His body was covered in scrapes, and he had severe, necrotic wounds on his back legs. Some of the wounds were so deep that bone was exposed.
Even more disturbing, someone had tied a rubber band around Beau’s testicles, causing necrotic, open wounds on his scrotum.
Beau was so weak that he could no longer stand or walk. It was clear he had been suffering alone for quite some time.
But when an Animal Protection Services Officer arrived to help him, Beau greeted the officer with a wagging tail and allowed him to pet him.
Despite everything he had endured, Beau was still eager to receive affection.
Recognizing the severity of his injuries, the officer rushed Beau to The Animal Foundation for immediate medical intervention.
Beau underwent emergency surgery and is now recovering, but he still has a long road ahead of him.
He will need ongoing medication and pain management, extensive wound care and bandage changes, and continued veterinary monitoring and treatment. His wounds will require several more weeks of care as they heal.
Through it all, Beau has remained incredibly sweet. Despite the pain and suffering he has experienced, he still seeks out cuddles and affection from the people caring for him.
The Animal Foundation’s CARE Fund helps animals like Beau who require special medical care in extreme circumstances.
Beau has already survived so much, but his journey to recovery is far from over. He will continue to need extensive veterinary care in the weeks ahead.
Every donation to our CARE Fund helps provide the medical care Beau needs as he heals.
Please consider donating today to help give Beau the lifesaving second chance he deserves.

At just five months old, Daffodil has already survived a frightening ordeal. Now, she needs surgery to give her the best chance at a healthy future.
At first, Michelle thought it was a piece of clothing lying in the middle of a busy Las Vegas street.
It was dark. Drivers were passing by. No one stopped.
Except for Michelle.
Driving home from a friend’s house late one night, Michelle turned her car around and pulled over. As she got closer, she realized what she had seen wasn’t clothing at all.
It was a kitten.
At first, Michelle thought the kitten was dead. Then, the tiny kitten lifted her head.
She was alive, but something was very wrong.
Michelle quickly scooped her up and got her safely out of the road. Animal Protection Services Officers brought the injured kitten to The Animal Foundation, where our veterinary team immediately went to work.

At just five months old and weighing only 3.8 pounds, the tiny kitten was terrified, injured, and alone.
We named her Daffodil.
X-rays revealed that Daffodil’s back leg is severely broken. She now needs to see a specialist for surgery. Our hope is that her leg can be repaired, but depending on the extent of her injury, amputation may be the safest option for her.
Despite everything she has been through, Daffodil has been incredibly friendly with our team. She seems to understand that the people around her are trying to help, and she absolutely loves attention.
She was given a chance when Michelle stopped for her that night. Now, we want to make sure she gets the care she needs for what comes next.
We are committed to giving Daffodil the medical care she needs, but specialized surgery comes at a high cost.
Your support helps make lifesaving medical care possible for animals like Daffodil when they arrive at The Animal Foundation injured and in need.
Will you help give Daffodil the chance to heal, grow up, and live the happy, healthy life she deserves?
Use the form below to make a donation to our CARE Fund. Your gift will go directly toward Daffodil’s medical care and help cover the treatment she needs to heal
