Today's passages reminds us of the importance and benefits of living in a way that pleases God.

Shepherds [pastors] are reminded that the flock belongs to Jesus and they are to care for the sheep as Jesus would.

Loving and serving God is easy under ideal circumstances. What about when they're less than ideal? That's when our devotion to God is put to the test.

Not only are we to follow the footsteps of Jesus, we are to glorify God through acts of service and love.

If you ever doubted that anything good can come from suffering, consider Jesus. His suffering took care of our sin and made salvation possible.

No one gets through life without suffering. Yet there is a way to suffer that makes us better people and that honors God.

God longs to bless His people. There are things we can do keep us at the center of his blessings. There are also things we can do that rob us of His blessings. The key is remaining in the center of His will.

As we wrap up the Epistle of James, the importance of prayer is emphasized. Prayer is essential and effective in the life of the believer.

All believers have been given gifts by God to use in the local church body to bless and encourage one another. May we step out in obedience and serve the body joyfully with our strengths and talents with thankfulness for all he has done.

James warns against materialism. Not only does mammon corrode, it corrupts the heart. those who haven't been handed a life of ease are instructed to persevere.

Judging and boasting are symptoms of pride. Neither are constructive. Both are a waste of time. Time is short. It is to be spent wisely doing good unto others.

Pride means trouble in the Christian life. The Epistle of James helps us to identify pride and shows us how to deal with it.

We are born again unto new life through Jesus Christ. The resurrection is our assurance of life eternal.

James explains the attributes of godly wisdom and how it works in the life of the believer.

Managing the tongue requires extra care. Without proper care, the tongue can do great harm.

In the family of God there is no place for partiality. Favoritism and faith don't mix.

With faith comes humility. Humility tells us to be doers of the Word, to walk justly and to love mercy.

Faith is more than just belief in a set of ideas. Biblical faith has a practical side to it. It is put into practice in our ordinary day-to-day lives.

We are to be image-bearers of God. We bear His image by showing grace. Grace manifests itself through acts of love.

Hebrews points to two mountains: Sanai and Zion. Sanai represents the Old Covenant. Zion represents the New Covenant, the mountain God speaks from today.
