The 20th Annual Abi Kattel Memorial Day picnic at Village Park (Pavilion # 3 (Address: 11700 Pierson Rd, Wellington, FL 33414) on January 31, 2026 to celebrate Abi Kattel Memorial Day. The one blood bus will be at the park for blood donation so that you or an interested family members can donate blood in the name of Abi Kattel Memorial Foundation (AKMF). One person’s donated blood could save up to three lives. Food at the picnic is complimentary and Donations for a good cause to the AKMF are accepted. The AKMF has started scholarship in Nepal for five orphan students through their high school graduation.
]]>AKMF started scholarship to the 5 orphan students of different ages and gender through CPH (Children Peace Home) in Dang district of Nepal. The scholarship covers their school tuition, uniform, room and board at the CPH. This scholarship will continue up to their high school education. There are many other orphan students at CPH looking for support for their upliftment. The Run and Walk /Holi (Color festival) event organized in coordination with the Nepalese Association of Florida (NAF) was held in Nocatee Fields Park, Ponte Vedra, FL on Sunday, February 26th, 2023. Ruk Lamsal, Director of the Abi Kattel Memorial Foundation (The Foundation) took the initiative to organize the Run/Walk program in Jacksonville as a fund raiser for the Foundation. Ruk coordinated with the NAF, Jacksonville Local chapter (JAX Nepalis) and the Chapter President Dr. Anugya Chataut added the Holi (a color festival of the Hindus) program along with Run/Walk and jointly a successful event was held in Jacksonville, Florida. The detail of the event is as follows.
The event had a very good turnout with participation from all age groups; from very young children on strollers to multiple Grandparents, oldest age of Grandparents being 87. The run and walk program started at 9:30 AM and participants began running, walking, and even being pushed in a wheel chair with Great Spirit. Then after the completion of the race, all participants that came to run, walk or to support the event, participated in the joyous celebration of Holi by throwing or placing powder of different colors on each other.
The Run and Walk/Holi event was a great success, with 52 participants registered to walk or run, and in addition, there were over 15 additional people came to support the event, also to join the Holi celebration and few people donated during this event.
The Abi Kattel Memorial Foundation would like to thank NAF Jacksonville Local Chapter- JaxNepalis and its Members for participating in the event and their support to make the 2023 Run and Walk/Holi Event a Grand Success. The Foundation would also like to thank President Dr. Anugya Chataut, Mrs. Ruk Lamsal, Dr. Dharma Acharya and Mr. Rajeeb Lamsal for their support, coordination, planning and execution of the event. Also, would like to thank all participants and the donors to make this event successful and supporting the needy children through the foundation.
