In reply to Sean. I don't believe this is a typo, the recipe here states 2 sticks plus 1 TBSP butter. That would be 17 tablespoons. Converting from the metric 250 grams also gives me 17 Tbps. It also lists 2/3 cup sour cream. I have seen the recipe other places where they list 10 TBSP butter and 3/4 C sour cream. My guess is that there are two versions of this recipe floating around. But I made the cake according to these instructions, and it was delicious. If you make it, I hope you enjoy it as well.

There are some typos in this recipe.
1. Should be 10 T of butter, not 17.
2. Should be 3/4 c sour cream, not 2/3.

In reply to Amy M. The thicker yarn will work fine for the blanket, it might just be larger than my original. I wouldn’t recommend blanket yarn for the hat.

In reply to Dani. I'm sorry the cellophane is giving you trouble. It's been a long time since I've made one of these, my youngest is now almost 6, but I don't recall it having a problem with the cellophane ripping or bunching up to one side. I can see how the sewing needle is basically perforating the plastic though. Maybe a longer stitch length so there aren't quite so many holes?

The cellophane rips when I see it! How did you get it not to rip? I finally just finished it and hoped for the best but it all bunched up in one corner as my grandson played with it. Help?!

In reply to Marci. Looks like Duckie was a Vanna's Baby yarn and that line has been discontinued. I'm not sure which brand has something similar, but any worsted weight acrylic yarn in a yellow color you like should work perfectly :)
