Akers has served on a variety of boards in the community, including serving as president of Branson School Board, chairman of Cox Medical Center Branson, chairman of Taney County Planning & Zoning, chair of Taney County Board of Adjustment, and chairman of Branson/Lakes Area Tourism Community Enhancement District among others.

Dave and Denise Hamner are internationally known for their amazing magic and illusions. The Hamners have been featured World wide in countless production shows. In the USA the Hamners are noted performers in Las Vegas, Disneyland and Hollywood's famous "Magic Castle" and, of course, Branson, Missouri where the Hamners own and operate the Hamner Variety Theater. They have appeared on NBC TV's World's Greatest Magic and on the Trinity Broadcasting Network.

Multiple award winning performances have earned them awards including the Siegfried & Roy Bronze Lion Head Award for Performance Excellence, the coveted International Magicians Society International Merlin of Magic Award for illusion and performance excellence, the Las Vegas Magic Masters Award and multiple annual awards for Magic Show of the Year, Producers of the Year and their most precious, Humanitarian of the Year in Branson.

Dave is a seminary graduate who is an ordained pastor that teaches and preaches weekly at the interdenominational Branson Gospel Sunday service at the Hamner Variety Theater. All are welcomed.

The Hamners are a team both on stage and off as they share full responsibilities of theater management, show production and a very busy ministerial schedule as well.

Craig Wescott transformed the Branson skyline in 2016.

Wescott, the CEO and co-owner of The Track Family Fun Parks, relocated Chicago's famed Navy Pier Ferris wheel to the Branson Missouri. Now he has his sights set on another new attraction for the 76 strip in 2019.

Wescott paid almost $2 million for the ferris wheel, but invested $4 million in the total experience when all was said and done. Decorated with 16,000 LED lights the Branson Ferris Wheel has become a Branson landmark and popular destination for tourists.

In this interview, we discuss Craig's upbringing and his path to being owning some of Branson's top attractions.

You never know who you are going to meet in Branson. This week, I met James Megellas. Preparing for his 100th birthday, James was an amazing person to sit down with. Just a few things I learned about Mr Megellas:

-He is the most decorated officer in the 82nd Airborne

-Recently had a post office renamed in his honor

-Published his book "All The Way to Berlin" in his 80s

-Was honored in Holland for his role in a liberation campaign in World War II

-In his 90s, gave out 5,000 books to troops in Afghanistan

-He still has a lot more to accomplish

Matt grew up in a family of professional musicians in Los Angeles, CA. His credits as a composer/arranger/singer/musician include TV shows like General Hospital, NBC Sports and Friends, commercials for major advertisers like McDonald's, Budweiser, and Chevrolet, and animated series including The Addams Family, Power Puff Girls, Life with Louie and Bill Cosby's "Fatherhood". He moved to Branson 20 years ago to raise his 3-year-old daughter and has never looked back. Twelve years ago he was a founding member of #1 Hits of the 60's, where he met the lovely lady that is now his wife, Amber Campbell.

Amber is a native of LaRussell, MO and a graduate of Southwest Baptist University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre, with a Music Minor. Amber has loved getting to perform and raise her beautiful daughter Jade in the Branson community. She has been a featured vocalist and MC for several Branson shows over the years, but her most rewarding experience has been owning, producing and performing in #1 Hits of the 60's (& 50's too!)

#1 Hits of the 60's (and 50's Too!) touches over 100 songs from the great artists of the 60's and 50's - Elvis Presley, The Beach Boys, The Supremes, Paul Anka, Buddy Holly, Petula Clark, The Beatles... the list goes on and on. #61 Harley Worthit's Funniest Moment on Stage in Branson

…while most comedians tell jokes to make you laugh, Harley Worthit makes you laugh just by walking onto the stage! Known for his colorful, crazy, and ever-changing outfits, this guy is one of Branson's favorite comedians. Known in real life as Perry Edenburn, Harley Worthit has been performing in the Ozarks since 1985 when he was asked to 'fill-in' for a comedian who left town mid season.

Since that eventful day, Harley has performed on almost every stage in town along with performers such as Pam Tillis and Clay Cooper. He has been a part of numerous shows including the Presleys, Pierce Arrow, and A Heaping Spoonful, and for the last five years has been keeping pretty busy making people laugh over at Grand Country Music Hall. Six days a week (and twice a day during spring and fall) is a lot of laughter!

If you ask Branson locals you'll find that Harley is one of their favorite comedians on the strip.

"He's great! You never know what the jokes will be from show to show!"
"His outfits….they're a comedy routine in and of themselves!"
"You never know what he's going to say next…but you know it will be funny!"

Performers in town love to work with him as well; "it's fun to work with people who make YOU laugh every day."

It's easy to keep up with Harley even when you're not in Branson; he's got his own Facebook page and posts a daily joke sure to start your day off with a smile and a giggle or two. And if you don't get a chance to catch Harley in Branson, he may be performing in a town near you. Perry doesn't believe in having down time, and is always on the go! Harley takes his show on the road every January, as well as several weekends throughout the year. Every routine is different….so go find him. We promise….he's more than Worthit!

#190 Magician Peter Gossamer

Peter Gossamer is world renown for his electrifying performance of magic, dance and theater. He is considered a pioneer in magic because of his original concepts and fresh approach to the art of illusion.

He hails originally from Medina, Ohio. On completion of the Chavez College of Magic and Prestidigitation in Los Angeles, he earned a BA degree in marketing at Kent State University in Ohio. Upon graduation, he joined the cruise lines and eventually became promoted to the youngest cruise director in the fleet of Carnival Cruise Lines. It was there that he honed his skills performing for 5 years.

Peter left the sea to further his career in venues such as Chateau Champlain in Montreal, Canada, Sheraton Walker Hill in Seoul, Korea, the Fontainebleau in Miami and the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. He has perfected his spellbinding performances in Atlantic City, New York,Tokyo, Los Angeles, Singapore and Guam, where he starred inFantastique, the largest production show in Asia.

Gossamer has made numerous television appearances, including 4 French television shows in Montreal and three invitations to Spanish TV's largest network, Univision Television. Peter was also featured in the U.S.A. on the popular national television special NBC's "World's Greatest Magic" as well as "Regis and Kathie Lee".

Recently he starred in the show, "Abracadabra" in the Sheraton Valley Forge Dinner Theater in Philadelphia, PA. This show was hailed as the best show in the theater's 13-year history. Also he starred in a 6-month contract at Caesar's Casino in South Africa starring in Dick Foster's"Eclipse" as well as the record setting "Las Vegas Illusion" in Tokyo.

Peter has surpassed all previous reviews in the Opera House Theater inBranson, Missouri, for quality and overall guest satisfaction. This explains his third consecutive summer invitation.

Gossamer Magic is in demand in the corporate venues as well. He is often hired to make CEO's appear and disappear as well as producing products as large as automobiles for Honda.
