That took place in the Junior High because there was no room for the freshman at the high school at the time. Chesapeake schools were very overcrowded. I remember a school talent show where a group of kids tried to cover it close to when it came out. The response from the adults was much like the character Huey Lewis played in Back to the Future in response to Marty’s band. I wasn’t hip and didn’t care for much modern pop music at the time. I was an old soul then. I appreciate some of the music from my youth now a little more than I did then. At that time in my life I was a miserable misunderstood nerd child. Songs like Smells Like Teen Spirit bring back strong memories of how out of place I felt during those band auditions knowing I didn’t really fit in anywhere in the social strata that was around me at the time and desperately wanting to be one of the “cool kids.” I never did hit “cool kid” status, even in my adult life. I had just started my broadcast adventures at WFOS in the summer of 1991 and had no idea then how that would shape so much of my future later on. I guess my life then is not much different than the any teenage nerd during that time period. I was recently reminded of those times last fall at my 30th high school reunion. I still felt a little out of place in that group of high achievers that I graduated with. I did not fell as awkward as I did when I was a teen around them. They thought it was cool that they hear me on the radio from time to time and thought that I had made it. If they only knew the true reality for most people who aspire to be broadcasters they would think differently. I let them know that I still had to work a “real job” to be able to afford to be on the radio. Sometimes life doesn’t shape up like the motivational posters on the guidance counselor’s walls like they say it will. I have found true success to be forging genuine relationships with people that create quality long lasting friendships more than anything in my professional life. Because true genuine friends was all I really wanted at the time when my world smelled like teen spirit and I was consumed with teen angst.

Actually, AFAICT (along with my disability lawyer and -TurnoTax audit defense), it’s all tax-free until I start liquidating pre-tax holdings.

But since it’s not earned incom, I can’t contribute to Roth.

(And anything that can be counted as reportable income lowers the disability payouts…:

So if you contribute pre-taxed money to a Roth you are still good. If earned from work or disability as long as you have already paid taxes on it. Consult your investment professional to be sure of course.

To put it as politely as possible, “it ended.”

MS is as stable as it can be on Keysimpta after the switch. Some weirdness early on, but I think things have calmed down, finally. We’ll see next MRI, which I need to do sometime this summer.

How are you managing your health with MS these days?

No, no…..just and abrupt end to what I’d hoped would be a re-connection with someone else from the past. At the same time, there’s other folks where an absence of reply wouldn’t disturb me very much. i am conscious about it, but not nearly as much as I used to be. I have too much on my mind to worry if someone’s got his panties in a wad over something I’ve said, you know? I think. Maybe.
