We had a wonderful time celebrating with Ravens from all classes during our 2026 Raven Banquet! The evening was filled with celebration and recognition of this year’s scholarship, fellowship, and award recipients. Please enjoy the photos from this year’s Raven Banquet.

There is just one day left to purchase your 2026 Banquet ticket.
We are excited to reconnect with fellow Ravens and celebrate this year’s scholarship and award winners at the 2026 Raven Society Banquet, held Thursday, April 16, at the Forum Hotel. This black-tie event will feature a cocktail hour (featuring live music from UVA’s very own Mr. John D’earth), catered dinner, and an awards ceremony.
Tickets are available until midnight on Tuesday, April 7, and will not be sold at the event.
Per the tradition of the banquet, guests are not permitted.

- Student Tickets: $45
- If you are a current student at the University of Virginia in any capacity (have a working student ID), this ticket is for you!
- Non-Student Tickets: $160
- Anyone who does not fall into the above category should purchase this ticket.
- Non-Student Ticket + Student Ticket: $200
- For non-students who want to attend while also generously covering the cost of a student ticket.
- If you do not have a specific student in mind, this free ticket will be allocated to students who express financial need through our waiver form.

]]>It is the 200th anniversary of Edgar Allan Poe’s enrollment at the University this year – quite a milestone! For those who haven’t returned to Grounds recently, we continue to maintain the Poe Room on the West Range. It is a popular destination for many Hoos, Ravens, and curious admirers of Poe.
Since I last wrote, we have welcomed 118 new Ravens into the Society this fall and brought together over 300 Ravens through elections, initiation, and faculty student dinners. Thank you to those who have participated in our events and to those who send your support from afar.
As 2025 draws to a close, please renew your dues and make a year-end gift to the Alexander “Sandy” Gilliam Raven Society Endowment. Your support sustains student programming, preserves the Poe Room, and strengthens alumni-student mentorship.

Because most of our events are free for attendees and we significantly subsidize student tickets to the Raven Banquet, dues alone cannot cover these costs. ]]>We are thrilled to announce the date for this year’s Raven Society Banquet! Mark your calendars for April 16, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 12 p.m. at the Forum. Over the next few months, the Raven Council will continue working hard to curate another unforgettable evening for all members.
Registration for this year’s banquet will open in early 2026. Until then, we encourage you to stay connected with the Raven Society by joining our mailing list and ensuring your contact information is up to date and by contributing to the Raven Banquet Fund.
The Forum is offering a discounted courtesy block of 10 guest rooms on Thursday, April 16, and 5 guest rooms on Friday, April 17. Rates for the courtesy block are $209 plus tax on Thursday and $309 plus tax on Friday. Rooms in the courtesy block are limited and must be booked by February 15.
If you are unable to book with the courtesy block, you can visit the Forum’s regular booking website, which will stay open as long as the hotel is not fully booked.
