CJSF's SUBSonic Showcase and Campus Karaoke Seshes Are Back!

Did you know that SUBSonic, CJSF’s student music showcase, is returning to SFU Burnaby’s SUB tomorrow (Jul. 24?)

The Delfines and Tim Ray will be hitting the Social Stage across from Blenz that day, with performances at 3:15 + 4:00pm.

Here's the schedule + some info about our performers for tomorrow's SUBSonic showcase:

Jul. 24, 2026:
3:15pm - The Delfines (genres: indie pop, rock, ambient, experimental)

The Delfines are a Vancouver based experimental music duo formed by George Bastian and Cléo Luna June. Blending indie pop, rock, ambient, and electronic influences, their performances combine voice, instruments, field recordings, and performance art to create soundscapes inspired by nature, mythology, and storytelling. Through cinematic textures and expressive live performance, The Delfines explores the relationship between sound, movement, and the natural world, creating experiences that encourage imagination, reflection, and wonder.

There will be a scheduled power outage at our FM transmitter on Monday, Apr. 27 at 3pm.

We anticipate a brief window of outage (~30mins), but this could be up to 2 hours if needed.

Healing Together is a series of intimate and thoughtful conversations hosted by SFU alumnus Salomé Mengo-Morales; Ira Rishi, an SFU undergraduate student; Khoa Vo; and Paola Quiros-Cruz, one of the Educators at the Sexual Violence Support & Prevention Office (SVSPO). This special edition podcast is presented in the context of SFU’s Sexual Assault Awareness Month 2026. CJSF has partenered with the SVSPO to host and help edit the podcast.

The podcast features guests from diverse personal and professional backgrounds who remind us that healing and justice can take many forms—and that we all play a role in shaping spaces that support survivors. Inspired by the questions posed by Afro-American author Prentis Hemphill in their book What It Takes to Heal— “What would it do to movements, to our society and culture, to have the principles of healing at the very center? And what does it do to have healing at the center of every structure and everything we create?”—these interviews explore how healing, while deeply personal, is also profoundly communal.
