It’s almost that magical time of year again. No, not the Holidays, those are still a ways off, but it’ll soon be Free Comic Book Day, and that’s pretty neat too.

The comic industry ‘holiday’ sees a bunch of free comics offered per year, at most comic shops across the nation. These books usually star characters that range in popularity, and cover the gamut from the big publishers to smaller, more niche houses. In all, Marvel will have a pair of comics out there to grab, one X-themed and one following a Spider-Man/Venom story.

• FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2020: X-MEN will feature a brand new X-Men story by Jonathan Hickman and Pepe Larraz that will lead into a game-changing summer for all of X! The second story will also foreshadow an upcoming epic tale by Tom Taylor and Iban Coello.
• FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2020: SPIDER-MAN/VENOM will provide two exciting tales connected to the coming major storylines in Venom, Amazing Spider-Man and Black Cat from top creators Donny Cates, Ryan Stegman, Jed MacKay, and Patrick Gleason and more!

Both of the above should be out there to snap up on Free Comic Book Day, May 2nd, 2020.

Between the Diamond Select action figure on the way and this bad boy, it’s a very good year indeed to be a Venom fan.

Crouched low like a viper poised to strike, the evil Venom willingly gives up the high ground to web-head. Brock and the Symbiote are in perfect sync, taunting their prey and patiently waiting to get it in their deadly grasp. Venom is massively muscled, with an intricately sculpted alien physiology that shows how the symbiote can shift forms and make itself look imposing. Leaning forward on his right leg, the monster bends at the waist with its arms out to its sides and wicked clawed fingers opened wide as it flings webs with the smashed concrete street flying around it. Venom wears his trademark smile, a huge skull-splitting grin exposing frightening teeth while the creature’s shockingly long tongue snakes out of its mouth and curls in the air. The symbiote is black with bright white spider markings on its chest and back, squares on the back of its hands, and its enormous eyes; meanwhile, Venom’s creepy brownish teeth contrast nicely with its dark red, wet-looking tongue!

The piece was sculpted by Erick Sosa, this is a Venom that Spidey fans are not gonna want to miss out on. I have a few Venom statues that I’ve amassed over the years (I’m a pretty big fan) and this might be the coolest one I’ve laid eyes on. I love the way it compliments the Spider-Man piece too- great stuff.

Look for the 10″ tall Venom Unbound to hit comic and specialty shops in June 2013 with a price tag of $209.99
