Breaking the world record https://acefilms.tv/the-man-who-doesnt-breathe-breaks-world-record/ Wed, 13 Jun 2018 15:54:09 +0000 http://eskilhardt.com/acefilms2/?p=821 Ace & Ace can now reveal that free-diving world champion Stig Severinsen, also known as “The Man Who Doesn’t Breathe”, is the first person to swim the longest distance under 1 meter of thick ice in extreme cold waters wearing only swimming trunks! Stig’s world record has sent shock waves across the world, as this super human has succeeded in swimming 250 feet (76 meters) on one single breath of air under the Greenland ice.

The 2 x 60 min. show is produced for Discovery Network by the two production companies Ace & Ace from Denmark and Back2Back from England, and with Stig Severinsen as associate producer.

Demonstrating extreme skill, incredible bravery and intense dedication, four-time, Danish World Champion freediver, Stig Åvall Severinsen, achieved a new Guinness World Record when he accomplished ‘the longest dive under ice’, on a single breath of air only wearing his swimming trunks. Authenticating his lifelong passion for water and breath-holding, Stig pushed himself far beyond the limits of any normal human being, swimming whilst wearing a wetsuit, in the freezing waters of Greenland. He submersed himself underneath one metre thick ice, as he covered a distance of 250ft (76.4mtrs).

Dan Korn, Senior Vice President and Head of Programming, Discovery Networks Western Europe comments: “At Discovery, we’re fascinated by people who are willing to dedicate themselves to achieving the truly remarkable. Stig is one such individual and it was a great privilege for us to be able to film him as he attempted these three world records. It also provided an opportunity to explore some ground-breaking physiological and sports science, which – through Stig’s endeavours – led us to the very limits of the human body’s capabilities”.

Ace & Ace Films has a long track record of producing documentaries across a range of global terrains and conditions. Their images are as diverse as their adventures from tropical rain forests to the Arctic ice cap to desert lands and underwater whale habitats. Ace & Ace have produced films with Stig since 2001 following him through international competitions. See more at acefilms.tv

Branding film for Global Green Growth Forum https://acefilms.tv/branding-film-for-global-green-growth-forum/ Wed, 13 Jun 2018 15:20:43 +0000 http://eskilhardt.com/acefilms2/?p=806

Ace & Ace has produced a branding film for the Global Green Growth Forum (3GF), under the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The film is co-produced with Copenhagen IRIS.

The 3GF2014 summit brings together more than 300 global green-growth leaders from governments, business, finance, civil society and international organizations from developing, emerging and developed economies. They increasingly recognize that in order to grow our economy and go green, we have to address the fundamental questions of how we live our lives, where we will live and what we will live from?

Each year the global population increases by about 70 million people. And in the next 15 years the global economy is expected to grow by more than a half. A billion more people will be living in cities. Rapid technological advances will continue to change businesses and lives. The world is witnessing dramatic changes in global consumption and production patterns and we are using resources faster than they can regenerate. The UN has concluded, that if current consumption and production trends continue, by the 2030s we will need the equivalent of two planets to support our demand.

“World’s First” produced for Red Bull https://acefilms.tv/worlds-first-produced-for-red-bull/ Mon, 11 Jun 2018 14:53:25 +0000 http://eskilhardt.com/acefilms2/?p=638

Horacio Llorens from Spain, Acro Paragliding World Champion, is the first in the World to fly with Starling murmurations as a paraglider. Starling murmurations take place in the hours just after sunset. The birds gather in large flocks and form huge formations in the sky just before they decide to land and settle for the night. The movements of the formations have been likened to a kind of dance or ballet. The experiment was performed in Denmark where Starling murmurations of up to one million birds are happening.

The film is produced by Ace & Ace together with Thomas Fink.

Horacio Llorens used a special engineered electrical engine from Paracell in Spain to get as close to the birds as possible. He believes the birds are disturbed as little as possible by using a less noisy electrical engine.

AI used in law for the Attorney General https://acefilms.tv/ai-used-in-law-for-the-attorney-general/ Mon, 11 Jun 2018 14:12:26 +0000 http://eskilhardt.com/acefilms2/?p=628

Can artificial intelligence and robots replace prosecutors?! The Attorney General in Denmark, Ole Hasselgaard, tasked this question to a robot scientist, a Microsoft manager, and a high courts judge. The panel discussion was both fun and interesting. Artificial intelligence can become an enormous help for attorneys in the future, but legislators need to define the limits and operative fields for AI’s. In particular humans need rules in place for how man and machine should be allowed to work together in the future judicial chambers.

Ace & Ace created this Danish short-film at the opening forum at the prosecutor’s yearly congress, the “Anklagerforum”.

Mad Mike burns rubber in Vejle https://acefilms.tv/mad-mike-burns-rubber-in-vejle/ Mon, 11 Jun 2018 14:00:12 +0000 http://eskilhardt.com/acefilms2/?p=622

Mike Whiddett, better known as Mad Mike, unleashes 1,200bhp on the narrow roads in Denmark. Whiddett is known as the one of the best drifters in the world. With unbelievable precision, he forces his car the ‘RADBUL’ through turns where the rear end almost kisses the crash barriers. The development of the car has taken more than a thousand hours. It has been built from scratch and all features are based on thorough data-collecting processes explaining how the ultimate performance can be achieved. The goal from the very start was to build the best drifting car ever seen. Of course, it takes more than a supernatural car to win one trophy after another. But that was the smallest problem. Whiddett is arguably to drifting what Tony Hawk was to pro skateboarding. When you get featured in Need for Speed you know you’ve made it. He has an unstoppable urge to test the impossible, which means Whiddett sets the standards for his sport year after year and if he finds a new spot to test – it’s only a question of time. “It’s wild and very hard to drive. So you have to be really focused to stay on the road.” – Mad Mike

Ace & Ace has produced a number of new films for Red Bull. Check out pro-drifting world champion Mad Mike tackling an old race course along the idyllic roads of Vejle in Denmark in his custom-built 1.200hp twin-turbo Mazda MX5. Additionally the films are used for a Red Bull sales campaign in Denmark in co-operation with Circle K.

The films are produced by Ace & Ace in co-production with Thomas Fink.
