Well, it’s the start of another year. This year we’ve got a couple of shows booked already the first of which is at the POT BELLY in Belconnen with our mates in Post Human and Flesh. The Pot Belly shows are always great fun and a great way to check us (and other bands) out up close and intimate! We’ll be playing some old shit, and some new tunes we’ve been working on as well!

Show is on Friday 19th Feb so come early I think we might be on first up.

20th MAY we’re on with PYREFLY, SNAKEWITCH (featuring a couple of ex ROT members) and ENDLeSS GRIN! Again at the Pot Belly!

Entry to both shows should be fairly cheap and we’ll have our usual merch and stuff on sale too so bring some spending money!!!!

Well, march was a great month for us, we played a couple of quite well received shows in Sydney.

So a huuuuge shout out to the one and only Dave Balfour who organised our mini-jaunt thru Sydney and Dapto and to all the bands we played with !!!! Dave / Metal Evilution pulled it off without any flaws and got us in front of a lot of new faces …. He runs a very tight(professional) ship! We couldn’t have asked for more \m/

This week we’ll be playing at the Canberra Metal fest part 2. We’re honoured to be involved! Playing will be some of the best bands this country has to offer including (but certainly not limited to) Pyschroptic, Misery, Abremalin, Pod People, Wretch and Laceration Mantra! (Full lineup shown below). The gig goes across 2 days Friday 17th and Saturday 18th Feb and we’ll be on fairly early in the day at 1:30 pm on the Saturday! Hopefully we’ll see some of you there as well \m/

PS: We’ll have heaps of merch and stuff on sale as well

Congrats to our Bass player Mike who’s made it on to the worlds largest shred collaboration part 2. Featured are a number of this countries top guitar players (and a couple of other instruments). The song was initially composed by Temtris guitar player Nadi and then sent out to a heap of talented musicians who contributed their parts and returned back to Nadi who put in a fantasitc effort to put it all together for release.

Just wanted to drop in and say cheers to all the punters and metal fans that made 2022 a really cool year for us. We landed Mick the drummer at the end of 2021 and started jamming seriously at the start of the year. Mick stepped in like a champ and we managed to get an 8 song set done for a party gig called “Mansland” a few short months later. That was cool effort.

Further into the year we’ve been writing new songs and have 3 new songs worked into the set for a total of 10 songs now and by all your accounts we’re sounding better than ever! There’s a lot of new material coming up as well so stay tuned for that and make sure you turn up to a show to see what we’re doing these days!

Next year will also bring with it some bigger shows, the first of which is the “Canberra Metal Fest” which we’ll be playing on the Saturday with the feature bands being Australian legends Pyschroptic and Misery. There’s also talk of a video clip recording and some interstate touring which we’ll spill the details on later on!

Ok, we played a show recently at the Pot Belly in Canberra for Reggae’s Birthday Party. The show went well, and we also had the pleasure of having our old guitar player Kurt (from the 2001-2004) era of the band rejoin us for a rendition of the song “Under Blackened Skies”. We reckon Kurt did well, especially since he wouldn’t have played the song for 18 or so years!

Also worth noting that we now have enough songs with new drummer Mick to play full length sets again, as well as a few new ones in the works, so expect to see some more gigs out of us really soon!

Things have been going quite well in the Terror camp since the addition of Mick! We’ve got the live set down now, and starting to work on new songs! While its way too early to tell the songs are sounding like they’re going to have a faster and more brutal feel to them!

We’ve also been playing live and played our first official show back at the German Club last in March and a rural car / metal fest party type thing in NSW in April. Michael managed to capture our song “The Glory of Metal” so you can check it out here

Ok, we’ve been a bit quiet of late but its time to reveal the new drummer! We welcome Mick to the fold on drums. he’s been drumming around the local scene for a while now, most notably for Mortified Flesh amongst others.

At present we’re not too far off being able to perform live just need to get a couple more songs down and you’ll be seeing us live again real soon!

When “on her black wings” came on, it was quite a shock. Here I was, expecting some subpar Danzig cover, and got something different entirely.

Picture Jeff Walker vocals (perhaps a little deeper toned and whispery, but definitely in that tonality) over a chugging riff that could almost belong to Carcass, but with a dry and mids heavy Danzig guitar tone, with almost demo quality lead fills throughout. The actual solo does smack heavily of John “Christ” Knoll.

So how do you classify this, black n’ roll? The band themselves lean on Venom’s Black Metal (though “more amber in colour, and it gets you drunk”!), but this is hardly the USBM biker band thing where they swipe in equal measures from early Bathory, Venom and Motorhead. No, this is slower, more bluesy and pretty damn cool in their self assurance and willingness to step out and make their own way.

Yeah, I’m hearing a lot of early Danzig in the sound, but it’s hardly a xerox, more like married to blackthrash or sludgy blackened doom like Goatlord…just bluesier, more consonant, of more appeal to fans of 90’s acts like Non-Fiction (another band who kept things low and slow with that same nasty mids-driven guitar tone).

And then comes “carved in stone”, all Young brothers riffing with backing gang chants ripped straight from Bon Scott era AC/DC (complete with a “TNT” oy! oy!, yet). How about the traditional doom riffing of “daemon in a bottle”? …yeah, weird stuff when married to these whisper-snarled vox, but right up our alley.

If you dig any of the bands or styles aforementioned, you’ll probably enjoy the hell out of this one. Just crack open a Fosters, throw a shrimp on the barbie and watch out for rabbits. This particular vegemite sandwich goes down pretty damn sweet.
