]]>All access to driveways in the affected area will be removed at this time. Residents will be able to park on the street where street parking is available, but not within the construction zone. Pedestrian access to all homes will be maintained throughout construction.
This new closure is expected to take 6-8 weeks. This work is weather dependent and may be delayed in the event of inclement weather. More lane and/or road closures will be announced throughout the phases of the project.

]]>During the campaign, Champaign Police committed officers to dedicated enforcement with a focus on arterial routes, especially in areas where they impact neighborhoods. These efforts were conducted by officers on grant-funded details, in addition to the routine proactivity of officers on-shift. Through this campaign, Champaign Police worked 32.25 hours of assigned traffic and issued:

]]>The post Residential Fire – 900 Block of North Fourth St. appeared first on City of Champaign.
]]>Firefighters responded to a report from a neighbor of a fire in this two-story home with occupants trapped. Once on the scene, firefighters reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the first floor with everyone outside the home. A single hose line was extended to fight this fire that originated on the first floor.
The cause of this fire is not determined as investigators remain on scene conducting their investigation. One occupant was treated on scene and transported to a local hospital for further evaluation of minor injuries. There were no firefighter injuries reported.
