The post Custom Sapphire Earrings in a Modern Setting appeared first on Custom Jewelry & Bridal Accessories by J'Adorn Designs.
]]>Sometimes, when less is more the stones steal the show! Today, we’re showing off a pair of custom sapphire earrings. The ultra-modern setting may look like a bit of a divergence from our normal delicately botanical style, but we’ve kept all our best design sensibilities in tact!

This stunning pair of sparklers was dreamed, designed and created all in the midst of the coronavirus. They were designed by Ali in her home studio during the shutdown part of this pandemic. And, they were created in the J’Adorn studio in Catonsville, MD, right after it became safe for Ali to move back in and begin working on-site again.

These sapphire studs, wrapped in 14K white gold, are more than meets the eye. The larger, royal blue stones are lab grown sapphires. The smaller, light blue stones are Montana sapphires. The best thing about that? Both lab grown and US-mined gemstones are ethically sourced!
*Lab grown & American mined stones are both much more ethical sources than stones mined overseas without the same oversight. We’re committed to sourcing responsibly whenever we can!*

This particular pair of stunning studs was custom designed for a client whose favorite stone is SAPPHIRE. They hold a special place in her heart. Her engagement ring is a sapphire, too!
She has always wanted a pair a sapphire studs. However, she hadn’t considered doing a double stone setting until Designer Ali suggested it! She especially loved the idea of the ombre effect between the two shades of blue. And honestly, we’re so happy she trusted us with this design. We love them.
When she received her earrings, she told us: “They’re the perfect earrings I never knew I always wanted!”

Have you been dreaming of a special jewelry piece? Do you have a favorite stone and want something but you’re not sure what? At J’Adorn Designs, those are often our favorite projects to work on. Contact us to have a piece designed just for you!

]]>The post The Prism Collection, Part 2: New Jewelry Designs for Everyday appeared first on Custom Jewelry & Bridal Accessories by J'Adorn Designs.
]]>Say hello to our newest mini-collection of colorful, delicate jewelry designed to brighten up your summer days!

We made this delicate hoop earring style in both gold and silver to accommodate all of your wardrobe color choices. Then, we upped the ante by adding gemstone beads: tiny black spinel sparklers on both styles, and a white speckled moonstone or iridescent grey labradorite to complement the metals.

In addition to some dazzling new designs, Part 2 of the Prism Collection includes some updated versions to a couple of our perennial best sellers.
Druzies have long been staples of the J’Adorn Designs jewelry family. Everywhere we go for a pop-up shop, our druzy drops are the must-try style that everyone loves!
Until now, our druzy jewelry has been nearly all wire-wrapped designs. But, as designer Ali has expanded her skillset as a metalsmith, she’s learned new ways to set these gorgeous sparklers. New ways like a bezel setting*, which you can see in our new Turquoise Druzy Necklace!
*A bezel setting is a type of stone setting that looks like a solid “cup” encasing a stone.

Jewelry is a form of self expression and of love. It ties us to our past and brings us hope for the future. Who doesn’t have a fond memory of a grandma or great-aunt with a special piece of jewelry? And, who hasn’t dreamed of passing down an heirloom piece to a beloved daughter, granddaughter or niece? Jewelry connects us. Like a PRISM, a single piece of jewelry contains so many layers of meaning, memory and emotion.

]]>The post Modern Bridal Style Inspiration with a Bracelet and Jumpsuit appeared first on Custom Jewelry & Bridal Accessories by J'Adorn Designs.
]]>Here at J’Adorn, we LOVE a good styled photo shoot. It’s fun to select just the right piece (or pieces) of jewelry to send off on their adventure. And then, getting the photos back is like Christmas morning! It’s always a great (and beautiful) surprise.
This shoot was no exception! The “untraditional wedding” inspiration, paired with our Crystal Spike Bracelet, is just the breath of fresh air we need right now. And, HOLY JUMPSUIT! C’yana looks amazing, super modern, and has got us swooning hard!

When you first imagine a Bride wearing pants, ultra-feminine probably isn’t your go-to image. Well, think again! The soft combination of C’yana’s curls, the lush floral bouquet, and the delicate lace give us all the femme-feels.
Scroll through the images below and we DARE you not to imagine yourself rocking a bridal jumpsuit on your big day! And, while it might not be the exact look you go with, there is lots of dreamy-yet-modern inspiration to be found.

Our Crystal Spike (Bridal) Bracelet is a favorite around here. Classic with an edge is what we like to say. We’ve put the “Bridal” in parentheses because this bracelet is just begging to be worn again and again after the wedding.

This bracelet features a stunning crystal chunk. As you can imagine, if worn too loosely, it would spin all around your wrist. That just won’t do!
This bracelet includes an extender for perfect sizing every time. Our recommendation is to wear it tight enough that it stays centered on the top of the wrist, so it can be prominently featured in every photo!

We created this stunning bracelet with intention. While the focal point is the big modern raw crystal spike, the accent pieces anchor the bracelet with classic design.
Sparkly cubic zirconia surrounded by golden milgrain sit next to the crystal to give the look a bit of the traditional femininity needed to balance out the edgy-modernness. And the chain extender on this bracelet is finished with a darling pearl – a nod to the more conventional jewelry choices of brides in the past. While this isn’t your grandmother’s bridal bracelet, it’s certainly one she will fall in love with!

]]>The post Prism Mini Collection is LIVE appeared first on Custom Jewelry & Bridal Accessories by J'Adorn Designs.
]]>Last week, we teased a little bit about the mini bridal inspired collection dropping soon. Well, today is the day! Prism is live and ready to be shopped. While there are a lot of wedding things you can’t do from home, our jewelry is ready to be shopped and shipped!
Designer Ali has been creating from home during this quarantine, and we’re excited to show you just what she’s been up to. Welcome to the J’Adorn Family, Prism! We’re so happy you’re here!

The star of the Prism Mini Collection are our Pretty Vine Earrings. Thoughtfully designed in a rainbow of color pallets and metal finishing, with a combination to fit most any wedding theme. Handcrafted with glowing Swarovski pearl drops, freshwater accent pearls and sparkling, prismatic Swarovski crystals, these heirloom quality pieces will be treasured for years to come.
Above, they are pictured in: Gold & Lavender // Gold & Peach // Gold & Merlot

Inspiration for the Prism Mini Collection comes from the way light refracts within a prism, showing a rainbow of colors that are all contained in one singular ray of light. And just like a prism, this is a capsule collection that has a little something for everyone. Icy cool tones set in silver keep things crisp and bright. And, like all our handcrafted wire wrapped jewelry, each Pretty Vine Earring is made with one continuous piece of wire so you’ll never lose a crystal or pearl!
Above, they are pictured in: Blue & Silver // White & Silver // Purple & Silver

This collection is designed with the flexibility for mixing and matching. Whether you’re shopping for coordinating bridesmaids gifts, your own jewelry, rehearsal dinner look, or mother-of-the-bride pieces, the Prism collection brings you options.
Above, our Peach & Gold Pretty Vine Earrings pair effortlessly with our Delicate Link Bracelet in Rainbow. Wear them as a set, or gift them separately to create a cohesive, but not overly matchy, wedding party look.

When you’re investing in beautiful wedding day jewelry, you want something that begs to be worn again and again. Treat yourself, and your best girls, to something special. Prism is a collection designed to transition seamlessly from Big Day to Every Day. Our pieces are heirloom quality and made with fine jewelry elements, intended to be worn year after year. And we know that whenever these pieces are worn again, they’ll carry the memories with them.
Above, the Pretty Vine Earrings in Gold & Lavender are paired with our Freshwater Pearl and Rainbow Beryl Bracelet. Or, pair with any the Vine earrings wrapped in silver for a bright, effortless look.

Bright is beautiful. However, we are loving these darker, richer tones, too. Stunning for a fall or winter wedding. Lovely and sophisticated enough for a mother or grandmother’s special gift. Also, we think these dark elements add dimension when coordinated with the peach and lavender tones in the collection.
Above, our Pretty Vine Earrings in Gold and Merlot are paired with Pink Freshwater Pearl & Garnet Bracelet.
Whether you’re shopping for coordinated bridal party gifts, jewelry for the bride to match her attendants, mother-of-the bride jewelry, rehearsal dinner earrings, or a beautiful bracelet to dress up an outfit, we hope you will see your favorite colors represented in this jewelry collection.

]]>The post 5 Amazing Graduation Gift Ideas – Chosen by Grads Themselves! appeared first on Custom Jewelry & Bridal Accessories by J'Adorn Designs.
]]>We paired up with our friend and local senior portrait photographer Maria Ortiz Photography to curate a collection of pieces from our Jewelry Shop that would make great graduation gifts.

In both necklace and earrings, as a set or separately, these pieces earn top marks from seniors! They pack a huge punch of sparkle and make a statement while still holding on to a classic, keep-in-your-jewelry-box-for-years style. We love the raw beauty of these crystals.
From Maria: “I asked five of my seniors to pick out their favorite pieces and in less than five minutes they responded. They all loved your pieces! A few of these were a common pick among all of them, the bracelets especially.”

Perfect for stacking, mixing-and-matching, or wearing one at a time for a more focused look, bracelets are a top-trend among grads. Send them off on their next big adventure with an arm charm or two! We have a rainbow of styles, colors and metal finishes (silver, gold & rose gold) so you can pick something perfect just for her.
Our bracelets are sure to become a treasured piece in any jewelry collection for years to come. They are handcrafted with real crystal, gemstone and freshwater pearl elements.

No surprises here! The Class of 2020 is bold and bright, just like these earrings. A double pop of fun color plus sparkle for days. We love the way these druzy and gemstone earrings can be dressed up or down to suit just about any occasion. Flexibility and versatility are the currency these days. These earrings have it, and so do our Seniors!

We are totally crushing on the way Maria styled our fan-favorite Coin Pearl Necklace. (insert all the heart eye emojis here!) The pearl just seems to glow. This one is set on a delicate rose gold chain, but we’ve also got it in silver and yellow gold. We’re zero percent surprised Maria’s seniors selected this modern classic.

These druzy earrings are such an evergreen piece for us here at J’Adorn. They have been a top choice (and the top of everyone’s wish list) for years! Classic, neutral, wear-with-anything. You cannot go wrong with a pair of these stunners. So much sparkle, so lightweight. Our Shop Valedictorian for sure!
In her email Maria had said, “Also, they all picked the Splash of Blue Tourmaline Necklace that’s sold out! “
Well, with all this extra time at home, Designer Ali discovered all the elements needed to make very limited supply of the Splash of Blue Tourmaline Necklace! This is was the first piece to sell out from the Harmony Collection, and we are SO EXCITED to welcome her back into the shop. But, we’re sure she won’t stay long!

]]>The post New Bridal Jewelry Sneak Peek appeared first on Custom Jewelry & Bridal Accessories by J'Adorn Designs.
]]>We’re trying our best to keep some semblance of normal during these times. And normal for us means: NEW DESIGNS! All this extra stay-at-home time has meant more time to create. And, we’ve got weddings on the brain.
Today, we’re giving you a sneak peek at our intentionally designed bridal collection. We’ve created a collection of a few of our most coveted styles in a variety of color combinations. This way, you can coordinate your jewelry with your wedding colors. Or, you can gift your bridesmaids and mother-of-the-bride-or-groom with timeless pieces they’ll cherish that look cohesive without all being the same.

Freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals, one luminous teardrop Swarovski pearl. We are seeing a big trend in the desire for pearl jewelry. Honestly, pearls never go out of style. But, there are times when they are more in demand than others. And pairing them with crystals on a vine-shaped setting gives them the perfect modern update.

If you’ve been following J’Adorn Designs for any length of time, we’re sure you’ve recognized our signature wire-wrapped technique in these earrings. Either sterling silver or 14k gold filled, each piece is hand crafted with one piece of continuous wire. This ensures you’ll never lose a pearl or stone. And you’ll never have a rogue wire scratching at your neck!
Now, lets talk about COLORS and intentional design! We’ve designed this style in several color combinations that are high on the trend-list for 2020 weddings: wine & gold, French blue, and the eternally elegant white and off white neutral palettes. Of course, these aren’t the only colors we’re working with… but this is only a sneak peek, after all!

When you’re planning a wedding, and thinking through gifts for bridesmaids and the other important women involved in the big day, variety is so important. This mini collection is designed to give you OPTIONS that coordinate while still honoring everyone’s individual style.
Our bracelets, crafted with the same pearl and crystal elements, are a lovely compliment to the Pretty Vine Earrings. They can be worn as a set. Or, they can be gifted separately and still bring cohesion to your bridal party.
We’ll be releasing more designs are photos soon as we prepare to launch this collection! But if you’ve fallen in love with anything you’ve seen here in this sneak peek, please contact us!

]]>The post Mother’s Day Jewelry Wishlist: Vol. 2 appeared first on Custom Jewelry & Bridal Accessories by J'Adorn Designs.
]]>Since spring of 2018, Betsy has been the voice behind the blog and our email campaigns. She is also mama to an *almost* five year old daughter, Colette. She has hand selected the TOP FIVE J’Adorn pieces she’d like to receive this Mother’s Day.
Betsy’s style is clean, simple, and focuses on quality classic pieces with a few interesting details. She is typically drawn to wearing neutral or solid colors and adding interest to her look through a statement necklace, bold lip color or a great bag (her Kate Spade kitty clutch is a frequent go-to).
(If you missed Volume 1 with Jeannette’s Mother’s Day picks, check that out here)

“I have been wearing the J’Adorn champagne and gold druzy earrings for over five years now and they have changed my life. Like, seriously. SUCH a wardrobe staple, I don’t know what I did without them. I would love to have these white druzies for another color option! White is such a clean look and can be worn in any season and dressed up or down. I love how sparkly they are. They make a statement without weighing my ears down.”

“I’ve been around J’Adorn for a quite a while now, and I own several pieces. But, when we’re one the road for pop up shows, my eye is always drawn to this Crystal Bar Necklace. It’s clean and simple, but big enough to make a statement. A perfect balance between minimal and WOW. And, as a Montessori Guide for 2 and 3 year olds, I love that this necklace is bold without being long. Don’t get me wrong, I love long necklaces! But, they’re not always the most practical for an early childhood classroom.”

“The raw beauty of the crystal spike has always drawn me to this piece. I used to wear bracelets ALL THE TIME. And, usually quite a few at once. But, when I had my daughter, I stopped wearing anything on my wrists because I didn’t want to scratch her sweet baby skin while I was holding her or nursing her. And, I think I just got out of the habit of wearing bracelets. Now that Colette is older (and scratches her own skin up by climbing over log piles and whipping around on her scooter like a daredevil), I’m ready to bring some arm candy back into my life. At this point, a lot of my bracelets are a bit out of style. I love the geometric vibe of this Crystal Spike Bracelet and the way the delicate filigree and crystal accent pieces soften and add interest to the look.”

“These earrings are a little different than what I usually wear. But, I think it’s important to push your style-boundaries every once in a while. While the silhouette might be different, the vibe is right up my alley. I love the thin gold hoop (minimal) and the pop from the coin pearl drop (statement detail). These would be a really versatile piece I could wear comfortably in the classroom with a casual outfit, but then dress them up for date night or a Saturday at the winery.”

“HAIR ADORNMENTS: they’re NOT just for brides! Over my years with J’Adorn, we have seen countless hair adornments find their forever homes with women who are not planning a wedding. They are beautiful, heirloom quality, and a real treasure. If you want to talk about elevating a look, THIS is how you do it. I have drooled over Ali’s hair pieces for what feels like forever. Pop one of these in for a special night out, for a family photoshoot, for a girls night or to give you a boost of power and confidence at a big-deal work meeting. All of the J’Adorn hair pieces are stunning, but I’m really crushing on raw crystal right now.”

]]>Jeannette is our Pinterest Guru, newest team member and a new mom. She has hand selected the TOP FIVE J’Adorn pieces she’d like to receive this Mother’s Day.
Jeannette’s style is easy-breezy with a fearless love of a bold pop of color to elevate a look. Whether it’s through makeup, hair styling, or that perfect piece of jewelry to complete a look, Jeannette is casual-with-an-edge. Her selections are perfect for the mom who balances enjoying & taking care of her children with growing her career, and who prioritizes a night out now and then!
Today on the Blog, we’re counting down Jeannette’s top Mother’s Day picks.

“I love simple and dainty go-to pieces that I know will go with just about any outfit. Blush tones are some of my favorites. I love that this necklace has a classic look but with some edge from the freshwater pearl. I’ve seen a lot of single pearl necklaces on social media, and I love that this is on trend but with personality.”

“I love a long necklace – it is super flattering for most body types. And, I know I love the look on me because of how it draws the eye vertically, but I especially love how this can really elevate an outfit. This piece with a plain tee, some jeans and wedges are a great date day outfit. I love the delicate pearl along with the natural crystal at the end.”

“I love the natural tones with the blush rose quartz and white druzy. This would go with so many outfits. I love that this can be a go-to for travel – for my job I occasionally travel. And, we visit family often and packing baby stuff means I try to pack light. I love being able to wear and bring minimal jewelry, but still have nice pieces for going out. This would be a piece I would grab on any trip for sure and wear frequently.”

“I love that you can wear these with a black cocktail dress to a wedding as a pop of color. Or, wear them as a statement piece for a fancy date-night. I’m all about wearing jewelry that might seem kind of dressy with a more casual look to elevate it and make you feel more put together. The colors here, and the edgy-ness of the druzy and the amazonite are really eye catching with the gold metal work.”

“I am obsessed with these. First of all, I’m a hoop girl. Small dainty hoops, large geometric hoops, I love them. I love that the natural emerald beads are so unique and bring a pop of color to the hoops. As a mom to a 10 month old, the fact that these are light weight- simple and would look great with a ponytail make these a hands down favorite. Again, I’m all about elevating daily outfits but also having pieces that can transition day to night or be worn for a variety of outfits with travel. So, these would be a wardrobe staple for me.”

]]>We are excited to announce that we’re growing our team here at J’Adorn Designs! Jeannette will begin by masterminding our Pinterest marketing. We’re planning on expanding her role into other aspects of our social media and online presence, like Facebook and Wedding Chicks.
(Wedding Chicks is where we share lots of wedding related inspiration)
Have you been following along with us on Instagram? If so, you may remember we’ve been on the hunt for someone to help manage our social media marketing effort. Well, Jeannette is the perfect addition. Let us introduce her to you!

I’m excited to have a creative outlet like this! I used to love doing this stuff for my own business and had so much fun with the creative part but didn’t like the other aspects of running my own business so this allows me to do the fun stuff that also includes strategy and is always evolving – the social media!
Also, on a personal note I’ve drooled over J’Adorn Designs for a while. And now I feel I can justify buying some because I’m supporting my employer! I’m so bad about buying nice things for myself! I have to justify it with a need.

I’ve done a little bit of a lot of things! At Roanoke College, I majored in English.
(sidenote: Jeannette and Betsy went to Roanoke College together, both majoring in English. The girls were one year apart and shared a few classes together and lots of great memories. Check out the photo below!)
After college, I went directly to grad school where I received my Masters in Education in Higher Ed. I worked in Higher Ed for about 4 years professionally then worked in Title IX, or gender discrimination in education. Due to funding and the needs of the college they added a new elevated role and cut mine.
I then ran my own online business with fitness/health coaching for a few years. During this time, I learned a lot about online marketing and social media. I found joy in the creativity of creating posts and ran my own podcast for a while, but running your own business is H A R D and just not for me.
I started doing some contract work like teaching English online and doing some social media and marketing for a Realtor. I then worked in HR for a few months at a SaaS company, and found that I really love working in the software industry! I now work as a Client Success Specialist and this is my main field but I also love social media and marketing! I miss having my online blogs and podcasts and this fills that creative gap for me!

Aside from my wedding ring, when my husband and I started trying to have a baby, I had three miscarriages before getting pregnant with my son. During that time, my MIL bought me a stamped angel wing pendant for each loss. During my baby shower for my son, Jensen, she gave me a stamped J pendant. It was such a beautiful full circle moment. The losses were so hard for me and it was finally real that my son would finally be joining us in a few months. I wear it every day because it reminds me not just of him, but that life works out, that the hardest parts of our lives can become the most beautiful.
Earrings! They really bring a whole look together. Whether it’s a stud, or a hoop, or a tassel, they can enhance the best features on your face. I like to think of myself as a team player who supports others well with recognition and allowing others to take the lead. But sometimes, I like being the spotlight piece and I feel like earrings are great that way, too! They can be a statement, or the perfect compliment, or just your every day reliable – that’s me; I have range.

Green sapphire. It’s the main stone in my engagement ring. It’s so unique and gorgeous!
I’d say it’s a combination of athleisure and classic comfort. I love jeans and a classic tee. But I love to add a statement piece like a jacket, a necklace, a boot, or bold lip to change it up. To be honest, I spend most of my time in yoga pants and cute tennis shoes.
It definitely depends! If I have a busy day at work or a big project coming up, those are my favorite days to get going because I love feeling like I’ve made a big contribution and worked really hard to get there. I also am really motivated to get up just knowing I’ll do my best that day whether it’s in a workout or staying in jammies with my son. I live for little moments and big accomplishments!

Between the new content guidelines that Pinterest recently released and my current work-from-home situation due to the coronavirus, I’m happier than ever to have Tailwind in my arsenal of tools to make the most impact marketing my jewelry products online.

Note: This post contains affiliate links, meaning that if you choose to click through and make a purchase, I will receive a small commission at no cost to you. I was also compensated to create this post, though all opinions are my own. I started using Tailwind long before I decided to become an affiliate.
When you’re wearing all the hats, time is a precious resource that you can’t spare. That’s why I love using Tailwind to manage my Pinterest posts. It saves me time and effort in writing, posting, and optimizing my pins for maximum impact. They’re constantly rolling out new features, like SmartGuide, to help users get the best results.
I’ve been a faithful user of Tailwind for years, and I can honestly say that it’s been the single best marketing investment I’ve made in my jewelry business.

Tailwind’s new content guidelines give priority to FRESH CONTENT above all other content. They also want you to share more of your own content than before.
Simply put, fresh content is a new image that has not been shared to Pinterest before. To give its users the most relevant and up-to-date results for their searches (remember, Pinterest is a search engine), fresh content gets first priority. Fresh content includes images for new blog posts, new pages, new product listings, and new images for existing posts, products, and pages. So, you don’t necessarily have to create a new blog post every time you want to share a pin.

With Tailwind for Pinterest, I can schedule all of my pins ahead of time in a batch session. When I do this, I know I will be getting the best “bang for my buck” in results. I trust them because they’re certified partners with Pinterest (and Instagram!) so I know I’m following the most up-to-date guidelines and their little robots are working their magic to optimize every pin that I send out into the internet. (That’s how I like to imagine computer processes working, anyway!)
Just like Instagram, Pinterest wants us to interact in ways that look more like real life. So, when you’re writing your pin descriptions and choosing which board(s) to pin to, focus on creating an authentic connection with the person on the other side of the screen rather than overtly selling your goods & services.

This is just one more way that Tailwind is making my life as a creative entrepreneur easier & more streamlined: by taking the guesswork out of determining the best times to pin, and automating my posts to follow the new rules automatically.

This is the first post in our newly revitalized blog series on creative entrepreneurship. If there’s a specific topic you’d like to see us share about in the future, please let us know in the comments!
