The word legend gets tossed around a lot these days. Dave Bookman was a true professional music encyclopedia, whos love of bands & music history shown through in every interview he conducted.

Without #Bookie, we never would have been able to play the Horseshoe. Nu Music Nights was everything for us starting off. Without Bookie, we never would have played @1021 The Edge Yonge Street studio. Without Bookie, we (The STEREOHOAX) never would have played Edgefest 2008. “Baby steps,” he wrote me in an email before letting us know about that gig. Have always remained grateful for that opportunity and appreciated what little time I got to share with him. Love & respect to the man, the myth, the Toronto Legend Mr. Dave Bookman. You will be missed, sir.

Will never forget the day he played I Bang on the air. Ha. What a Legend.

This is the 2nd super fun video we got to make for the Aussies. Little Miss Crazy had basically the same team as their NOTHING BUT TROUBLE Video

Shot on location at Cherry Colas Toronto. We used a ton of super slow-mo shots that unfortunately weren’t synced properly & I ended up having to painstakingly eyeball a lot of these shots. Turned out pretty decent.

The world lost Gord Downie on October 17, 2017. He is a Canadian legend and will be forever missed and cherished. Glad to have had them in my life and thankful the opportunity to see them perform and play their tunes. The BT boys pay tribute to Mr Downie in this special episode of BTV filmed at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. 

They got to play Nautical Disaster a few times across Canada on their Afraid of Heights tour before his passing.

Hey Hey My My. Rock and Roll Will Never Die. Billy Talent was asked by Warner Music Canada to cover this Neil Young classic for their Covered in Gold: 5.0, Side B 50 Year Anniversary

Saturday, June 3rd 2017 Hamilton Ontario Canada. Billy Talent takes over the newly finished Tim Hortons Arena and pays tribute to another fallen hero. Had to cut back to the boys rehearsing this one due to an unnamed bass player hitting some sour notes in the bridge. Fun fact: crashed the computer and destroyed the sound during this edit. So this one was really fun and traumatic for me.

The Festhalle in Frankfurt is one if the nicest venues I have seen to date. It’s history is super dark but they ended up turning a negative into a positive. Changing its history forever and creating a venue that music fans can appreciate for generations to come. Looking forward to seeing another concert here one day.

Back in 1994 Soluble Fish was different for the times. Blending catchy as all hell music with humorous lyrics and pretty decent 3 part harmonies. Reggae, alternative and punk rock. Most songs were about high school days, pet dogs named Jim, doing drugs, relationships, and eggs and soccer.

The band featured Ian D’Sa on guitar and vocals, Christian Kennerney on bass and vocals, Trevor Bowman on lead vocals and Joey Proulx (Tung Hunny/Jerkbank) on drums. Notable mention: Jason Rooney on drums and Collin Akoon on guitar, were in the original line up. They recorded a 6 song demo entitled Nugget Sauces on a 4 track recorder in Ian’s basement. Ian was also playing in Pezz and Christian started up Snapper/Shifty which eventually ended this historical and influential music force. These two bands (Pezz and Soluble Fish) single-handedly started up (no but seriously, cuz there wasn’t one at the time) the Mississauga/Streetsville music scene by putting on a series of independent showcases featuring themselves and an array of other local acts. With the help of their close friends and bandmates, 20 some odd years later, the “scene” is striving today.

To celebrate their 10 year anniversary the boys got back together (sort of) and re-released the 1995 Nugget Sauces ep. It’s been remastered and all the graphics have been cleaned. You can listen to and download Nugget Sauces here
