Thanks for writing in, Sunita. I don’t know what drove the suicide and so can only speculate. Maybe, she could have been the Chairwoman of an MNC, she had that potential. I knew her as a determined girl, one that achieved a goal if she set her heart to it. And hence her decision to go away has not met with my approval. She was not weak, at least what I knew of her. The internal struggles of a person one can never know. And what leads one to take life, we can never pinpoint the cause.
My point is more about high marks not being an indication of tomorrow. I know parents who feel an A* or 90% plus is some sort of a guarantee that the child is sorted for life. And that is exactly what it’s not. You and I, both can choose the life we want, as I can see that you have. Good on you. Good on us.
