What are Color Affirmations?

Different colours have different frequencies or energies attached to them. When you are using your affirmations, you can also add colour to them by using your visualization techniques. In other words, you can wrap or bathe your affirmation in a certain colour that is appropriate for the affirmation. Colour affirmations can intensify the power of your affirmation. They can also help clear any blockages that are preventing you from manifesting your goals and desires. Even deep or dark shades of a colour can have its purpose. In fact, your thoughts are energy, thus using colour with your thoughts also intensifies the energy with your intent.

When you understand what colors represent and what their energetic frequencies can accomplish, you can begin to use them with your affirmations. Using their vibrations, in turn, strengthens and focuses your intent. Hence, color affirmations are more powerful and very healing.

Color Affirmations with Black

Most people associate black with darkness or evil; however, this is not the purpose of black at all. You can use black to dissipate energy in very transforming ways. Black is representative of the “void.” It removes everything, scrubs, and scatters it. It is your “cancel and deletes” button. Think of black holes removing energy from this universe. You can use the color black with your positive affirmations that release the past. Use black for letting go and freeing yourself from difficult situations. You can also use black when you are changing your thoughts from the negative to something more positive. Wrap any negativity in black and send it to the void for transformation.

Color Affirmations with White

On the opposite side of the spectrum, white removes and cleanses things a little bit differently. This color purifies and fills thoughts with love and acceptance. It is the color of light. There is also no judgment with white, and it raises the vibrational level of your dreams. Therefore, your thoughts and affirmations will align with the Universe. Use white with any assertion of love, self-love, self-empowerment, and creativity. These affirmations can be bathed in white light so that they can take the highest form possible.

Combining

Today’s affirmation is an example of a two-part affirmation that you can use this visualization technique. The first sentence of the assertion is about releasing the past. Therefore you would visualize sending these words into the darkness of a black void. You can also assign specific experiences into the same black void. The second part of this affirmation can be surrounded by white light as you say it, allowing you to integrate it in its highest form.

Why a Personal Mantra is Helpful

When we engage in negative self-talk, we are sabotaging ourselves from living our “best life.” In other words, when we are laying self-blame over an incident, finding fault in our appearance, or seeing ourselves as lacking in some way, we are in self-sabotage mode. Negative self-talk can be destructive, and it can keep you from reaching your goals and dreams. Therefore, you have to feel that you deserve what you accomplish. Otherwise, you simply manifest what you think you deserve. If it’s nothing, you will get nothing. Thus, a good personal affirmation mantra can be beneficial to you. It will help you shift your thoughts towards more positive outcomes.

Cancel and Delete

The first step is identifying the thoughts that are holding you back. Beliefs such as “I am not good enough,” “I am ugly, people don’t like me,” I am not worthy,” and the list goes on. Take a moment to write these thoughts down on paper. Once you have this list take a hard look at it, then strike through each one and cross them off the list one at a time. Write the words cancel, and delete after each thought and write a new, more positive thought affirmation to replace it. I have created a digital example. However, the handwritten version will be much more powerful:

  • I am fat. Cancel and delete.
  • I am beautiful just the way I am!
  • I am unlikable. Cancel and delete.
  • I am loved and accepted  just the way I am everywhere I go.
  • I never fit in with others. Cancel and delete.
  • I am accepted just as I am.
  • I will never reach my goals. Cancel and delete.
  • I will now reach every goal I have set for myself.
  • I will never meet my soul mate. Cancel and delete.
  • I now choose to meet my soulmate.

Creating Your Own Personal Affirmation Mantra

You may find reading this article on “Power Words For Making Changes” useful in writing your new affirmations. Create new mantras that you can say over and over again to yourself in your mind, especially when you catch yourself in negative self-talk. Here is what the personal Affirmation Mantra could look like from the list above:

“I am beautiful, loved and accepted just the way I am and everywhere I go. I now choose to reach every goal I have set for myself, as well as meet my soulmate.”

Keep it short and sweet so that you can memorize it and use it whenever you catch yourself in negative self-talk. Visualize the strike-through, cancel and delete, and then use your affirmation mantra to override it. Make sure that you re-evaluate this every once in a while, and adjust your mantra to the current situation you are in. You will find that it is not easy to catch ALL the negative self-talk, but with diligence and practice, you will soon transform the way that you think about yourself and the world around you.

Monitoring Thoughts

First of all, every thought that we have is energy and each thought is sent outwards and into the universe.  So why would we not choose to keep them positive loving thoughts? This is one of the reasons monitoring thoughts and being aware of what we are thinking is so important. Therefore, it is our thoughts that reflect what is happening in our life in any given moment.

When we choose to focus on the positive aspects of everything around us, we will create more of what we love. When you love who you are, and love those around you, you will manifest more loving people around you. Happiness starts within and blossoms outwards until it surrounds you with love. In order to remain in this place you should continue monitoring thoughts.

You can also send someone loving thoughts. All you need to do is think of them in a caring way. Think of the joyous times that you shared, think of the wonderful adventures you created together, and think of the beautiful sole that they share with the world around them. The more often you think these loving thoughts – the more loving thoughts will go out into this world. This is one of the reasons it is so important to monitor our thoughts and be aware of what we are thinking. We create our reality by our thoughts. What we think is reflected in those around us and by the circumstances that we live in.

Loving Thoughts Affirmation

I choose to believe that I create my personal reality through my thoughts, words and actions. I choose to keep my thoughts positive at all times and think of myself and others with love and compassion. In addition, I now choose to act lovingly toward myself and all others. In other words,  I think only loving thoughts and I speak only caring words. Moreover, I choose to send loving thoughts to my friends and family at all times. I also choose to love myself freely and unconditionally at all times. As a result, my thoughts are always caring and positive in all circumstances. In fact, I am full of loving thoughts at all times.

I chose this photograph of the dog patiently waiting for his human to return as a perfect example of today topic. As with most dogs they love unconditionally and focus that love on their family and surroundings. Even though this dogs owner has left a toy to keep it company this dogs focus is still riveted on the object of their affection. You can almost see the thoughts in this photo as the dog patiently waits for it’s owners return.

Your Own Power:

To own your own power, you must take charge of who you are and the situation you are in. Moreover, be strong, the responsibility for where you are in your life now is completely yours. Furthermore, you must own it, accept it for what it is and grow from it. Look for ways to change your responses. Act from your heart centre rather than your ego or emotional body. Acting from your heart centre is the closest we can come to being our authentic self. Our automatic responses can no longer influence us when we respond to our heart. Thus, we love unconditionally with unconditional acceptance and become our authentic self.

Affirmation:

I make a conscious choice to respond from the heart as well as grow and move forward. Also, I choose to detach so that I can make my decisions from my authentic self. Then, I choose to assert my energy into this situation with gentleness and with acceptance. Because I now choose to own my own power, I now own the situation that I am now currently in and recognize that this is something that I have created. Since I have created it, I can also learn from it and grow from the experience. I love being fearless in the face of adversity. I can respond from the heart always.

This is all possible because I know that I have the power to change everything. Furthermore, I am worthy of making the changes that I am contemplating and I am free to make any change that I choose. I know that it is safe for me to be my authentic self. Thus, I recognize that I have all the power in this situation and I am powerful.

As a result, I love being centred and grounded in who I am and lead with my heart at all times. I am grateful for being able to follow the guidance of my heart centre and respond from the heart centre at all times.

I chose this photograph of the Green Heron today because this is truly a bird with some attitude. Shy and elusive, it took me almost 2 years to catch a usable image of this bird. He (or she) had a gift for camouflaging himself and laying low among the rock of our local pond. When you approached with a camera he was always gone and out of range giving us dirty looks for disrupting his fishing routine. This year, however, he simply kept doing what he was doing, keeping a wary eye on us.

Perspective:

There are three sides to every conflict, crisis or drama.  In perspective – there is your side, there is the other side, and then there is the truth. The truth usually lies somewhere in the middle between the two sides. The object of any life lesson such as this is to get at the truth. However, your truth may not be the same as the truth of the other participants. Your part in the drama or conflict is usually very different in what brought you to that place than your opponents. Rather than approaching any of these situations with a confrontational perspective, try going inward. You will find the reasons that this situation is triggering your anger, frustration, or fight or flight instinct.

There is always an opportunity in these moments to bring about some healing and growth for all the parties involved. At least the possibility is still there for you to move forward and come from a place of forgiveness, love and personal power. Give the other parties involved a little bit of time to process their own issues. Also, take the time to look at things from all perspectives, and your little drama will usually dissolve with a few words of understanding.

In most cases, the conflict between the two parties has nothing to do with each other. It is simply the trigger that released the stress of another situation entirely. Moreover, your little crisis with another could be merely a way for both of you to vent emotions. Your body releases emotions so that your insight is no longer clouded by the feelings that were eating at you. The best thing all around is to simply let it go and forget the little drama ever happened. Forgive yourself and your opponent and move on.

Affirmation for Finding The Perspective of Truth:

I now choose to move forward with my life and release the stressful energy of this situation I find myself in. I am now able to communicate openly and freely express my feeling in this matter with love and respect. Furthermore, I will now gently but firmly set respectful boundaries for myself and others. Through this process, I also come from a place of love and forgiveness for myself and others involved. I choose to speak from my heart, and I choose love and forgiveness.

Love Affirmation:

I choose to respond to all things today from my heart center. Also, I will make a conscious effort to release my ego. Since I am now in a place of love and light, all the things that I do today will come from this place. The more I respond this way, the more my heart expands. This allows me to feel the wonderful things that are now happening around me. As a result, I embrace the feeling that washes over me as I realize how much love I have to give and how much love I can receive.

How do I do this?

I visualize moving the “light bulb” of my thoughts from my head to my heart, and then I focus on things that give me feelings of unconditional love. (Children, pets, parents). As I concentrate, I watch this light within my heart expand, and I choose to feel the love that I have for them. I embrace the love they give in return. As a result, I make a conscious effort to stay in this warm and fuzzy place all day long. I choose to respond to those around me from this place. Thus, I make all my decisions today from this warm light within my heart.

At the end of the day:

I take the time to momentarily dwell on all the wonderful things that have happened to me today. Then I focus on the positive results of my heart felt responses to others. I feel gratitude for all that I have received from this process. Thus, I make a conscious choice to continue my life from my heart center. Plus, I allow myself to give in this way and I allow myself to receive in this way. I choose to remain in my heart center.

“I respond from my heart center at all times.”

Moving Forward:

Occasionally, we all seem to hit an obstacle, or a brick wall that stops us from moving forward with our lives. It happens when whatever you have been trying to create or sustain, just does not work any longer. Thus, it feels like everything is crashing down around you and all you can see is the chaos.

There is always a divine order to chaos and although we can’t always see it there is a path for you to move forward on. The key is to act, however small an action it is. With this in mind, one small step in any direction will begin to clear the air, even if it is wrong! Keep asking Spirit “How” and “What Next” and the path will become clear to you. While this will allow Spirit to help you embrace whatever changes you need to make to allow things to succeed and move forward, you must trust that you can rebuild or modify whatever needs to change in your life. Surrender and let go so that you will be shown the way. You are never alone and all you need to do is ask for help!

In summary, there are many ways that the path can be shown to you. In fact, it may come as sudden inspiration, and inner knowing or desire to try something new, or a friend making a suggestion. Be open and allow yourself to receive the information that is coming your way. Know that it will come.

Self Love:

It is important to realize that one of the most difficult things in our day to day lives is silencing that inner critic that continues to find fault with our physical self. Self-love begins with finding ways to change your thoughts about yourself and your body. Moreover, every little step you take toward that change promotes higher self-esteem. Little things like taking the view “I am too big” and changing it to “I have beautiful curves.” and so on down the line. The way you think about yourself is important!

Affirmation for Self Love:

This morning when I look in the mirror, I see myself with new loving eyes. Reflected at me is the beautiful, shining being that I am, the person that others see. My inner radiance is glowing through, and I am comfortable with loving myself. Thus, I see my beauty and I see my inner light. Therefore, I am radiant with the knowledge that I am beautiful. I love who I am, and I love who I am becoming.

How do I do this?

I make a conscious choice to change the way I think about myself by using words like: “I now choose to love myself.” By turning my affirmations into an option, it triggers the subconscious mind into realizing that changes are being made. Before I make this choice, I take the time to consciously ground myself in my heart centre and let go of the ego. I also choose to embrace the changes I am now making within myself and use affirmations of self-love. Furthermore, I also visualize the radiance of who I am.

To reaffirm my choice of loving myself I also make a conscious choice to make healthy food choices for myself throughout the day. I will also keep myself well hydrated throughout the day by drinking lots of water. By taking these simple actions it reaffirms that I love and care for myself. Thus, I now believe in myself and my journey. Every step I take is toward knowing my true self better. I am filled with self-love.

At the end of the day:

I take the time to reflect on how good my choices throughout the day have made me feel about myself. I trust and have faith in my ability to love myself. In any event, I make a conscious choice to continue the new practices I have integrated into my routine today. I also make a conscious decision to continue to add new and loving alternatives to my daily life.

Therefore, make sure that you take pride in the fact that it is one small step at a time and that these steps will lead you in the right direction. You are strong enough!

Affirmation for Unconditional Love and Acceptance:

This morning I choose to shed the masks that society has given me. As a result, I am going to be myself. Therefore, all my actions and responses today will come from a place of unconditional love and acceptance. I choose to allow my true authentic self to come forth in all my efforts, reactions and words. This day is also filled with wonder and self-discovery for me. I have the courage to be myself. Therefore, all my decisions will be based on what is right for me now. Happiness flows to me.

I am happiest being myself. Therefore I always respond with unconditional love and acceptance to everything in my day.

How do I do this?

Each time I respond to something today, I take a moment and shift my focus from my head to my heart center. Furthermore, I make a point of feeling with my heart first. As a result, every decision I make today comes from this place of unconditional love and acceptance. I intuitively feel what is right for me now.

Every response that I make to others today, I express from my heart center. I tell them how I feel about things honestly and in precisely the right way. Thus, my heartfelt responses bring excitement to my life.

Today, I act toward all my goals with enthusiasm, and I love everything that I do today. All things lead to success in my life now, and I choose to love myself. I have faith and believe that I deserve happiness in my life now. I am happiest being myself.

At the end of the day:

I am surprised at how many things have fallen into place for me today. The people that surround me are happy and I am happy. As I reflect on the choices I have made throughout the day, I see how positively they have affected me.  Thus, I realize how much happiness I have brought to myself simply by being myself. I am grateful for all that I have received.

I am happiest being myself.

This photograph is an excellent example of finding beauty in something ugly. The water channel is not the most scenic of place in the City of Rancho Mirage, and yet they have a dedicated trail that runs along with it. They accepted it for what it was and utilized it in a very positive way. This is a busy hike with many people who partake regularly.

Optimism

Occasionally we find ourselves lagging a bit or feeling somewhat overwhelmed with the idea that our dreams are unreachable. This is when we can use our optimism as a great tool in reaching all our goals. An excellent way to get the ball rolling in your favour again is to stay positive. Remind yourself of the things that you have already accomplished. Find ways to make small steps toward your goals. Think of each small step as a massive leap forward so that you can revel in your accomplishments. As a result, this will multiply the intentions you are putting into your goals.

Also, be grateful for the things you have already accomplished. Thus, it will fill you with the knowledge that you are well on your way to achieving your dreams. Coupled with the use of a few affirmations to pave the way forward, this is a fantastic way to bolster an optimistic outlook. By sharing your visions of a better and brighter future for yourself and others, you will also create excitement, which will, in turn, reinforce your intentions further.

When we stay optimistic, it means that we are living our lives in the best of all possible worlds. We know that everything good and bad has a silver lining in it somewhere. When we acknowledge that today is another step towards tomorrow, we are taking the next step to achieve our dreams.  We dwell on the beauty of life, the serenity of the stars, and the love of creation. Staying optimistic is knowing in your heart that today is the best day ever!

Affirmation for staying Optimistic:

I now understand that I have already accomplished a great deal towards my goals. Therefore, I choose to keep a positive outlook with regards to achieving my dreams. Furthermore, I choose to be successful in reaching my goals, optimistic about all things in my life, and believe that my goals will be easily reached. Thus, I know that all my dreams will now become a reality and that I am successful in my life. My goals are achieved with every step that I now take. I have clear intentions, a creative mind and will reach my goals easily and smoothly.

I chose this photograph for today simply because it was a good example of optimism. This beautiful egret can remain still for long periods of time, waiting for that little flash of silver in murky waters that represents a meal.
