]]>The post Don Toliver Caps Off Life of A Don Tour in LA appeared first on BLUNTIQ.
]]>The project has been in the works since at least February, when he teased the title of the project. And after the announced tour in summer, fans knew the project was nearing. After dropping on Oct. 4, the rap world had been buzzing from Toliver’s second studio project. Additionally, the show was only originally scheduled for a show on Oct. 30, but due to high demand, a second Halloween show was added.
This had been my first time seeing Don. I’ve definitely heard a few of his hooks in the past, including his part in “CAN’T SAY” in Travis Scott’s “ASTROWORLD.” He’s got that recognizable sound when it comes to his vocals, and he’s one of those musicians that perfectly utilizes auto tune to his advantage.
After listening to “Life of a Don” a few times, I knew this man was the real deal. With other hits that have been Billboard charters in “Lemonade” and “After Party,” Toliver is ready for the next step to becoming one of the top artists in the game right now.
Rage and energy are what you can expect from a Don Toliver show. For what it’s worth, after checking in my camera to coat check, I was really hyped to get back and vibe to his music. Although there were no surprises the first night, special guests such as Baby Keem, Dom Kennedy and Kali Uchis showed out for the Don.
Overall, Don Toliver is the real deal when it comes to live performances. I try not to associate him with Travis Scott as much as I can, because I know he’s creating a path of his own. Perhaps one of the most prominent Jack Boys, Don Toliver is headed for major success if he keeps up this momentum. Not only is his sound pretty unique in the sense of rhythm and cadence, but seeing him in person just naturally brings your energy way up.
Although Don Toliver’s tour is wrapped up, there are still a few chances to see him if you’re in the Western part of the U.S. He’s got a performance on Nov. 14 at Day N Vegas, as well as a set on Dec. 12 at Rolling Loud Los Angeles. Check out some of the shots from night one below.

]]>The post Tinashe Takes the 333 Tour Home to LA appeared first on BLUNTIQ.
]]>In support of her latest project “333,” Tinashe is finishing up a 23-city show, with her hometown of Los Angeles being the third-to-last stop. I’ve personally only seen Tinashe perform once as a surprise guest for Snakehips at Coachella a few years back, so I didn’t get to experience a signature Tinashe show, but I was well aware of everything she can bring to the table.
Aside from her actual performance with her talented dancers and band, one thing that struck me was how stunning she looked in her outfits. The word that came to mind was “dreamy.” Looking up at her stage and seeing how well-put together her clothing and accessories were were a testament to how much time and effort her and her team spent on these shows.
As I mentioned earlier, Tinashe brings the whole package. Her ability to control her angelic vocals while hitting some of the toughest and most intense dance moves put the Los Angeles crowd in awe. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen on Twitter somebody claiming that they had no idea Tinashe was this talented.
Take this Twitter thread below as an example. I don’t think it could’ve illustrated my exact feelings any better.
Once she finally got to “Bouncin‘,” I was curious to see if she’d bust out the trampoline, which was part of the choreography in the music video for this track. Well, low and behold, the trampoline came out. Check out the awesome choreography below. She really was on-point all night, but this just blew my mind.
Overall, Tinashe is a true treasure for the industry. The world is just better when somebody as talented can share their music with us. Yes, Tinashe’s got some of the most popular songs like “2 On” and “Body Language,” but her live performance is really a sight to see. Although this tour will be closing up in the coming days, I’d highly recommend checking her out if you can. You’d be selling yourself short if you ever pass up the chance to go experience a night watching this queen perform in person. Check out some of my favorite shots from her LA show below. You can also stream her latest album “333” as well.

]]>The post Isaiah Rashad Shuts Down The Novo in LA appeared first on BLUNTIQ.
]]>Isaiah Rashad’s Lil’ Sunny’s Awesome Vacation tour kicked off in Boston on Sept. 8. But once the massive 42-city tour made its pit stop for, not one, but two nights at The Novo in Los Angeles, the rumor mill started spreading amongst concertgoers: there’s got to be a special surprise in store for at least one of these nights.
Aside from the speculation, the supporting acts for Zay were not to be to slept on, either with Childish Major, who made an appearance on “Revenge of the Dreamers II,” and the newest TDE signee Ray Vaughn.
Childish Major isn’t a secret to the hip-hop world, as his hits like “Lambo Truck” (see the unique music video below) and “Disgusted.” If you didn’t know, he was also the mastermind producer behind Rocko’s “U.O.E.N.O.” He just released his latest project, dubbed “Thank you, God. For it all.”
TDE newcomer Ray Vaughn signed with the label back in 2020, but it wasn’t public until August. Since joining the TDE family, he hasn’t looked back, dropping a 3-song EP entitled “Peer Pressure.”
Once the stage was set for Zay to come out, the energy in the air had reminded me of the type of atmosphere you’d experience at the very beginning of a huge sporting event. It literally felt like the NBA Finals. Once he stepped out and began his set, it was pure energy from there.
The first guest of the night was none other than Zacari, the talented vocalist who’s made appearances on tracks like Kendrick Lamar’s “LOVE.” and “Paramedic!” He was even spotted in the crowd taking in the show after popping out to perform “Rainy Day.”
When TDE pulls up, they pull up heavy. Not only did Jay Rock pull up to support his brother Zay, the huge surprise of the night had to be the queen herself, SZA.
For the rest of the night, Rashad was just rocking with the crowd and the TDE fam on stage, dropping bangers like “From The Garden” (which SZA is getting it to above), “RIP Young,” “Lay Wit Ya,” and more.
Check out below some of the best shots from the night. Isaiah’s tour continues through November, ending at the massive Day N Vegas Festival. You can still find tickets to the rest of the tour here. If you haven’t seen Zay perform live, now is your chance. The Lil’ Sunny’s Awesome Vacation tour is just another iteration of why Isaiah and Top Dawg are on top of the rap game right now.

]]>“Damn, Peggy!”
I couldn’t tell you how many times I found myself blurting that out after going to see the first show of JPEGMAFIA‘s LP! Tour at The Observatory in Santa Ana, Calif. The tour comes in support of this next project “LP!,” which is set to drop on Oct. 22 (that’s also his brithday!)
It isn’t a secret to Peggy fans the type of raw energy he brings to each and every single performance, and the Santa Ana show was everything you’d expect from a Peggy concert: a lot of sweat, a lot of raging, and a lot of madness.
JPEGMAFIA has always been an artist I’ve been wanting to see live, as the many videos and photos I’ve seen of him performing are a display of fiery emotions. If there’s one person to not hold back, it’s Peggy.
One thing that stood out to me (and this might not be new to his fans) was the fact that he was DJ’ing his own set. He’d walk back to his laptop, drop a track, then unleash flames to the crowd. His connection to his fans is another thing that goes unnoticed. There were a handful of times he could be seen diving into the crowd without hesitation. Speaking of the fans, “wild” would probably best describe the atmosphere in the center pit. When bangers like “Jesus Forgive Me, I Am A Thot” or “Baby I’m Bleeding” dropped, the entire venue lost it. My personal favorite “1539 N Calvert” had me vibing as well, as his flow on that track is straight flames.
Exhibit A: an Instagram user’s post from the Santa Ana show. Click through and it’ll give you a good idea of how intense this show was.
With the new album “LP” coming in just a few days, keep an eye out for the rest of Peggy on his tour. The more-than-20-show trek across the country brings him all the way back to Southern California for the finale at The Belasco in Los Angeles on Dec. 4th. You can find tickets here. This sets up his massive European tour which is scheduled for next spring. Check out some of my favorite photos of the Santa Ana show below. Of course, no mosh pits for me, as I wasn’t trying to go home with a broken camera or black eye. Or both.
Until the next one, peace!
