As actors, we use our voices every day. We get a cold, we lose our voices for a while and it comes back. We have a fun night at the bar with friends and our voice hurts in the morning. That all heals and goes away. But what if you wake up one day and you feel and hear something different in your voice that doesn’t get better? What do you do? Where do you go and who do you talk to?

Going back to the beginning and starting from the basics is never a bad thing to do. Do not put so much judgment on yourself, take chances and make mistakes. It’s what makes for a good actor and a happier life. This is what I learned from my mentor who is an actress/director. Take a listen and take whatever you need from it and KEEP MOVING ON!!!

We may never know why certain people come into our lives, but we can't waste time trying to figure it out. On my journey, I am starting to learn that I have to put myself out there, no matter how naked I feel. There was something I was supposed to learn from Lady J, aka Jesaira Glover, and the only way I was going to find out what it was, was by sitting down and asking a few questions. Through her stories and knowledge of life, I was starting to understand how to deal with some of my own life/career situations. The clouds opened up and I was able to take a deep breath. Sometimes you have to stop and listen, because you'll probably learn something that will help you see things a little more clearly. I hope her wisdom and laughter help you just as much as it did me. Enjoy your morning/afternoon/night with Lady J. The journey is just beginning.

In my attempt to write blogs (which didn't quite work out the way I planned them to), I have come across a more fun, creative and challenging way to express myself. I've always felt like I've had something to say, but I've never thought my voice is important enough to be heard. Now, I am opening up my mouth and yelling from my mountaintop. I finally have something to say, and it all comes out in the form of questions I ask about performing, happiness and success in life. My journey begins now. I will spend the next year getting to know myself better with the help of a few people that I will interview (or as I like to say 'talk to'). We'll talk about performing, what challenges they've have dealt with, how they stay happy, and what success means to them. I'll also be holding myself accountable while putting together my one women show, trying to find an agent, creating my music, auditioning, working (whether it be a 9 to 5 job or performing), and trying to find a place where I want to permanently lay my roots. Let the JOURNEY begin!!!!!
