Europe has some of the best nightlife in the world, as well as some of the most unique party scenes. You have the underground night clubs, the bars in abandoned buildings, the subculture hangouts and beachside festivals. Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona hosts two of the biggest party events in Europe and you’re not going to want to miss either of them if you’re a lover of night life. Sónar is a three-day-long music festival of the best electronic and dance music and some incredible creative projects. In one place, you have lectures, exhibitions, fairs, cinema screenings and art installations for you to peruse and explore to your heart’s content. You also have the Primavera Sound festival, which features some of the biggest and best bands in the world, as well as newer and upcoming artists on the urban music scene. In addition to festivals, there are some amazing club and nightlife that are built around them. A lot of people nap during the day and stay up all night. Perhaps a walk along the beach will cure your hangover.

Berlin, Germany

Nothing beats a proper German beer, and in Berlin, the beer flows like water and is cheap too. There’s nothing you won’t find in this great city; it has something for everyone. If you’re the type that likes to bar hop, you’ll be hopping all over the city. If you’re more into the club scene, then Berlin can offer you some of the best in the world. There are also regular concerts and more than a few concert halls to check out. This city is for night owls only, because the party doesn’t start until 1 AM, and once it starts, it doesn’t stop. Berlin is a crazy mix of people from all walks of life and there’s no such thing as a ‘typical’ night out.

Copenhagen, Denmark

There are more than 111 dance floors in Copenhagen, and you’ll find party animals on them all year round. It isn’t cheap, but it’s definitely worth the price. You’d be hard pressed to find a bad venue in the whole city and the music is just as amazing. Then, once you’ve danced yourself stupid, you can head over to a ‘morning bar’ to kick off the next day with a Fisk shot. The Danish know how to do night life right, and your idea of ‘going to bed late’ will change completely once you’ve experienced Copenhagen.

Budapest, Hungary

The Sziget Festival in Budapest consists of a whole week of music, drinking and dancing in the summer sun. Don’t be fooled by the cathedrals and old buildings. Inside of the most rundown places you’ll find the best ruin bars. These are bars and clubs that were built into buildings that were falling apart and transformed into creative and fun late night scenes. Best of all, you won’t be breaking your bank for a night out. Budapest has one of those carefree art scenes, where all the clubs are cheap and full of life. You could meet some incredible people here, so don’t miss out.

Every person loves a party, and it requires some sober and clever thinking to ensure the party continues safely, legally and uninterrupted. Hence the invention of the “party bike,” whichc was invented in the Netherlands but has made its way over to the Western hemisphere. What fuels this phenomenon, and what are the legal implications?

It’s a Party….Bike?

You’ve heard of a pub crawl, but have you seen goers hopping from bar to bar via a multi-person bicycle? The party bike, otherwise known as a fietscafe, pedal crawler, pedibus, beer bike, and other aliases, is fit with neon lights, stereo systems, a bartender and a party’s worth of riders. Bikes are built for parties larger than six. However, there is one integral element; the driver is sober while the rest of the pack is free to consume alcohol.

The Add-Ons

Like automobiles and limousines, party bikes are not all alike. They are fit for six people or more. Aside from upholstered seats for pedalers, some are equipped with seats for non-peddlers on the back. In the center is room for bartenders or servers, as well as the driver. Like electric bikes, the pedaling is supplemented by an electric motor, which is convenient for tackling hills.

Of course, the engineers who make the bikes have safety in mind, since a number of passengers are involved. For one, the speed of the bikes are usually kept well below 20 miles per hour. Secondly, smart charging systems ensure that batteries are always reliable. Thirdly, many bikes are equipped with automotive tires with a low-rolling coefficient, so bikes are easy to maneuver.

Its Origin

The trend has landed in the United States, but the first party bike blazed its trail in the Netherlands in 1997. The concept quickly gained traction in Europe, since most cities allow cyclists to enjoy beverages while the navigator remains sober. The partiers are along for the ride while the sober person is responsible for steering and braking, basically operating the vehicle.

An Industrious Idea

One entrepreneur took the idea of a party bike a step further and designed the Pedal Crawler, for sale in the United States. The entrepreneur has sold a bunch of bikes priced at $38,000 each, but that’s just the base price; buyers pay more for add-ons such as stereos and glowing lights. The US-based manufacturer’s bikes have landed in Tucson, Dallas, Nashville, LA County and Philadelphia. However, selling party bikes is not all fun and games; the manufacturer must deal with a number of law-based challenges.

A Legal Party

A number of municipalities allow for a party bike, but not all of them condone riders “partying” while it’s in operation. Laws vary across cities and states. For example, in Arizona, owners can apply for open container exemptions, similar to those given to limousine, bus and taxi services. Passengers must bring their own beverages and remain on the vehicle. Riders are not actually in control of the vehicle; they’re pedaling, but a sober driver is the one in ultimate control of the bike. No DUI or BUI can occur.

Other entrepreneurs do well in getting the help of legal experts who can help them navigate their city and state’s open container laws. Why should an entrepreneur go through the motions of investing over $40,000 in a bike and then attempting to jump through legalities? For one, there is an ongoing demand for the service. An Arizona entrepreneur gets repeat clients who want to go on themed rides focused on the 80s, super heroes, etc. The entrepreneur also admits that party bikes are popular with bachelorette parties and tourists who love wearing beer cycling jerseys.

In the spring of 2015, “beer bikes” got the green light in Sacramento, California. The bill to allow bikes to operate with on-board consumption of alcohol passed the state Senate unanimously and moved on to the state assembly. Advocates for the party bikes draw attention to limousines, which share a number of similarities; the driver, who remains sober, drives the automobile, while passengers are allowed to consume alcohol in the back.

Bill SB-530 was filed in early October of 2015. Some of the requirements associated with the bill include:

• The pedicab cannot seat more than 15 people
• The operator of the pedicab should be at least 21 years of age and have a California license
• The pedicab cannot load or unload passengers in the middle of the highway or on roadways
• Pedicabs must operate as close to the right side of the road except to avoid traffic, stationary objects, or when preparing to make a left turn

Some people really know how to throw a party and also have the means to do it. Thomas Kramer (also known as TK) has been hosting spectacular parties at his 5 Star Island Mansion for years, and he’s planning a huge bash for the Fourth of July. All of his parties feature tons of beautiful women and party girls and a much smaller group of successful men, and part of the proceeds for this party will go towards relief for the earthquake victims in Haiti. I spoke with TK this week to ask him about the upcoming Fourth of July party and I started with the selection of the charity. He explained, “I’m working closely with Michael Capponi, and part of the proceeds of whatever ticket sales we have will go to Haiti and the people in the camps, and that’s our main objective, to address the immediate needs of the earthquake victims.” TK hosts numerous charity events at 5 Star Island through his Thomas Kramer Foundation, saying that “it’s made for parties and events” so he takes advantage of that for charitable causes as well.

The party will be held on 5 Star Island, which we visited recently with the Bullz-Eye Bikini Team. TK told me how back in the 90s this island was used as a “waste bin” by Miami Beach until he bought up most of the homes on the island and began the process of transforming it into one of the most luxurious and exclusive residential areas in South Florida. TK is also known for his development South Pointe, which helped to transform South of Fifth neighborhood of South Beach with high-rise luxury apartments.

I asked TK what guests can expect at his Fourth of July party, and he said, “The greatest group of beautiful girls you’ve ever seen in bikinis all over this world! So far about 250 female guests are attending.” Women get in to all of his parties for free, but they need to apply for tickets. TK explained the importance of the ratio of having many more women compared to the small number of male guests make these parties. “That’s part of my whole pitch. I’m having people flying in from Saudi Arabia, Germany, London and from all over the world for my parties because they know the ratios are quite favorable for the boys at my events. I just don’t let anyone in like night clubs and that’s why I do events at my house.”

He also explained the importance of networking and how the parties he throws are more than just a great time. He’s sees his work and his lifestyle as intricately intertwined – “It’s a mindset. For me, it’s all one. You don’t divide it. My main work is networking. Instead of traveling through the world, nonstop, like most executives, I have the world come to me. With honey you catch bees, and that’s what I’m doing.”

This of course, is an added benefit for the people who purchase tickets to his events. Not only are they surrounded by beautiful women in the ultimate party atmosphere, the networking opportunities with the other guests are significant. “I have the highest average of billionaires per party than anyone else in the world.” He went on to explain: “I’m asking for a competitively high donation because I just want to have a certain group of people partying with my girlfriends and friends. And I don’t want to lower the standards and make the hurdle to low. You want less people and therefore higher quality and more beautiful girls, and the 30 to 40 guys you are going to meet here are something you aren’t usually going to be able to mingle with in such an intimate location.”

1 1/2 oz Cabo Blanco Tequila
3 dashes Tabasco Sauce

Cover the bottom of a shot glass with Tabasco sauce and fill the rest with Tequila. Finish with a lime wedge.

So, grab that hot girl you met in the office and invite her to happy hour. See if the bartender can make you this drink or anything else with tequila, and you’ll get a pretty good read on whether she likes to have fun. If you have any legitimate shot with her you’ll probably find out tonight!

Here’s a photo of Kim Kardashian sporting the obligatory big hat at last year’s Kentucky Derby. When I was invited last year by Axe Shower Gel I was thrilled at the chance to check out Churchill Downs and the Derby. Immediately you think about the thrill of the race, betting on the horses and hoping to see the first leg of an eventual Triple Crown winner. You also know that there will be a ton of drinking and partying on the infield and in the stands.

I was also aware of the tradition of dressing up for the Derby (if you’re in the stands), and how most women would wear big hats and elegant dresses for the event. I guess I just wasn’t prepared for just how many pretty women would be there, and how sexy they would look in their big hats! They were everywhere, and they dresses like that all weekend. Everywhere you went on that weekend, you’d see hot babes in big hats. The whole Southern Belle theme was alive and well, and it gave us some great ideas for future photo shoots! We have to do a model search in Kentucky around the Derby!
