Hi Craig,

Earlier password not working so we have requested a new password in order to login to clickspeed.co.uk/autodirector. We have put in the email address and left the password blank. However, it is Not gererating a password. We are not getting any email back.

Can you take a look please.

Thanks for purchasing. As I hinted at, it looks as though the developer has overwritten modern.css with their own styles. You can override many of them, but they've removed some essential ones. Put the original file back and it should be fine.

You're not using a licensed copy of AutoDirector or using the correct template CSS.

Could it be that you've got another unusual character in your text? Copying and pasting from Word could certainly cause problems.

A JavaScript syntax error is being thrown on that page which causes all subsequent scripts to stop running.

While the error appears to be raised in jQuery, I doubt that's the problem. It's probably another script in the template which loads following a refresh.

In my experience, most of these pre-supplied templates are shockingly bad. I'd recommend avoiding them unless you have a content-only site with no functionality.

That sounds strange. It's possible a spammer is trying to hack the system. They probably won't get very far, but you may receive blank messages such as that.

This website has been generated from a template with fasthosts. Any help is much appreciated, i have read the thread about a script conflict but would like to know how to get round the issue. Blank Enquiry forms

I recently built a site for a client, all appears to be working fine but they have told me that they are receiving random blank enquiry messages.

I have tested the form and it all appears to work as normal, I have tried to send completely blank forms but this does not appear to be possible, as I would expect. But my client still gets them from somewhere? They can be one a month or two or three a week.

Anyone else having this problem?

I've installed the latest version of auto director (trial). Feel a bit cheeky asking for help as it's a trial, but there's an intention to purchase if it suits the purpose. Anyway, when I add a listing, it won't list the price. It merely shows the car as 'sold.' All other details are fine, it just will not show the price. There's no other characters in the box with the price, just numerics as Craig advised earlier.

Is there some other option here that I'm missing or could it be database related?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi. Have you followed the installation instructions exactly, i.e. defined a database on your host then added those details to autodirector.ini?

Joomla 3.0 Integration

I am looking at developing a site using Joomla 3.0 and Auto Director.

However, 'Reserve This Vehicle' (Paypal Link), 'Sales Enquiry' (Enquiry Form) and 'Finance Enquiry' (Another Enquiry Form) are also included with each car listing on the site above.

Are these bespoke additions to the software, or are these configurable options that come as part of the Auto Director package?

Also, are there are any particular integration issues relating specifically to Joomla 3.0? I'd appreciate someone letting me know if there are, so that I can then look at using an alternate cms platform.

Hi,

I'm not exactly sure where you're going wrong but, in essence, the string is simply PHP code. Take off the outer quotes temporarily and that may be more apparent, i.e.

'- Description\n[12]\n\n- Features\n* ' . str_replace(', ', '\n* ', '[13]') . '- Contact us'

That code should work, but remember to surround it with double-quotes in the ini file.

Hi Craig - this helps but I've spent hours and tried 10+ different ways of changing this to create another section of 'contact us' - and non seem to work.

Where exactly do I enter - after or between which quotes?

E.g. the following I have tried:

info = "'- Description\n[12]\n\n- Features\n* ' . str_replace(', ', '\n* ', '[13]')- Contact us"

info = "'- Description\n[12]\n\n- Features\n* ' . str_replace(', ', '\n* ', '[13]')"'-Contact Us"

info = "'- Description\n[12]\n\n- Features\n* ' . str_replace(', ', '\n* ', '[13]')"'-Contact Us\n[16]"

The last one I was thinking create another column in the excel sheet with the text want to include below the contact us.

Hi,

You need to add it to the info line, but I suspect you're getting quotes mixed in some way. This should do it...

info	 = "'- Description\n[12]\n\n- Features\n* ' . str_replace(', ', '\n* ', '[13]') . '\n\n- Call us on 0843 523 5865'"

I'm editing the correct profile yes as when I upload it is messing up the format, so I have to put it back to original.

I think its a case of me editing the profile wrong, where to I need to enter the information in the profile.ini so that it displays that contact info, as it does in the listing on this link:
