Did BV just get the win he desperately needs to make a bowl game ? Or was this even more, a sign this team is determined to turn in to Oklahoma for the 2nd half of the season ?

News and Notes a few weeks in. http://burgerboy.net/?p=661 http://burgerboy.net/?p=661#respond Fri, 02 Oct 2026 18:52:49 +0000 http://burgerboy.net/?p=661 Best hire so far ? Lots of folks will tell you Kiffin, Gator fans will tell you Jon Summerall. The correct answer in the Burgerboy’s opinion is Northwestern’s Chip Kelly. They dismantled their first two opponents , played IU very close and as of this post are beating the hell out of those children hating thugs , PSU. Who has done more with less ?

As reported here a couple weeks ago, the Aggies have serious issues. Can they turn it around ? Yes. Do I think they will ? Not a chance. If you honestly and impartiality study their schedule , it is a coin flip if they get 5 or 6 wins to make a bowl or not. I believe it comes down to their game against OU. Which school gets their act together, will be the difference in making the who gives a damn bowl and who does not.

I am surprised that Oklahoma has not switched OC’s with a 2 week break before Texas. I’d like to point out agsin you bid against yourselves by extending BV.

Your Oklahoma State Cowboys are certainly playing football worthy of their name sake, University of North Texas.

I need to run. Have a great weekend.

New and Notes week 1 and 2 http://burgerboy.net/?p=657 http://burgerboy.net/?p=657#respond Sun, 20 Sep 2026 14:09:08 +0000 http://burgerboy.net/?p=657 Chip Kelly to Northwestern surprised me. I thought he could do better. Through 2 games he has put up 34 and 41.

Oklahoma is absmyl. Come December if I’m Brent V. I am calling Chip. Make no mistake about it, you have major issues in Norman. Also, I’d point out a few weeks ago I pointed out Oklahoma big against themselves extending Brent this early. 6 , 10,6, 10, 2-1 this year . His two wins UTEP and barely against New Mexico. Does that sound like extension material ? And by the way 0-4 in bowls.

Colorado, if the goal is 6-7 wins and showing progress, getting blown out by Northwestern was a big setback.

North Carolina, I know the score is the score, but I think the lightning delay cost you yesterday.

Arkansas vs. Georgia. Is this the best game you could give us on tv ?
Arkansas, it is my understanding that multiple SEC qb’s make more than the top 5 Arkansas players combined. They just do not want to play modern day big boy ball.

Georgia I believe will smoke OU.

The Fighting Aggies, I warned you a couple weeks ago you had issues, sizing up what I have seen, you may win 1 of your last 5.youll beat Arkansa, and the Citadel, maybe OU. A lot of mad Aggies, come December.

Sad that SMU lost. But they lost to a good team.

Miami has me concerned giving up 20 to Wake Forrest.

Honestly I thought LSU would win. They will beat A&M.

Houston and Texas Tech was worth the price of admission.

College Football Opinions http://burgerboy.net/?p=652 http://burgerboy.net/?p=652#respond Fri, 11 Sep 2026 15:27:31 +0000 http://burgerboy.net/?p=652 Clemson, Dabo’s years of ignoraninf the modern football business model is costing you dearly now.

LSU looked great and in theory should only get better.plenty of people are saying 8-4. I have not studied their schedule, but besides Georgia, am I to believe Alabama is honestly better ?

A&M, I think you have problems. Missouri State played you tough.

Michigan you have issues, it appears your coach does not believe in your qb.
I do not playing Oklahoma will fix your issues.

FSU, you need to privately hire a search firm now.

SMU, clean up the turnovers and being in the ACC hood things could happen.

Miami, The U is back.

Both Colorado and UNC should be 2-0 Saturday night.

Under Marcus Freeman, when playing an FBS opponent in week 2 at home Notre Dame is 0-3.

I like Texas and Oklahoma to win this weekend.

Belichick and Deion , a discussion http://burgerboy.net/?p=649 http://burgerboy.net/?p=649#respond Fri, 04 Sep 2026 06:15:49 +0000 http://burgerboy.net/?p=649 Some of this is not my original thoughts, but thoughts I agree with.
Belichick won’t make year 3, Deion needs to do something in year 4. We are all guilty of saying these things, and we are guilty hearing them. But what are the realities? They are both fascinating case studies, to compare. Some of the comparisons are little silly things, but plenty of it is legit, sports bar conversation. They are both a bolt of energy to their schools. I’m not sure off the top of my head that I can name two big time players/ coaches arriving in the college ranks. Think about it, most big time coaches simply go from school to school. You can’t say Saban, he won a title, spent two short seasons in Miami man’s immediately came back. Both these guys opened their careers against the Mighty Texas Christian Horned Frogs. They both had very different results. Colorado won on the road, while UNC scored a touchdown on the first drive, only to be hammered after. Both coaches won four games in year one. This season Bill has a new, upgrade at OC , while Deion has coordinators on both sides of the ball. I have said for years, the true test of Deion is will he walk the Colorado sidelines in 2027, or was this simply another con in a lifetime of cons ? Bill May be run off, as of the last few days things have happened that may make that speculation true. Lombardi was let go for sexual harassment and little B is potentially being investigated as I write this. According to a Colorado insider, the idea Deion could be run off in December is a National story but not a local thought at all. He has brought thousands of dollars in attention, attendance and money to the university. While right now his one winning season stands out, a bowl game in an era where everyone makes one would easily satisfy as “making progress”. Unfortunately for Bill, his schedule is worse than last year. Yes he just got a win, that no one thought he would, but 6 wins seems tough. Last year he was just a very few plays from getting to a bowl, which would have helped calm criticism. Funny we talk about a somewhat steal of a win last week for Bill and Deion got a blocked FG to win when being a td dog last night. All in all if I was forced to choose I’d say Bill may not make it to year three and that is unfortunate that he only got two seasons.

UNC http://burgerboy.net/?p=645 http://burgerboy.net/?p=645#respond Thu, 03 Sep 2026 21:51:31 +0000 http://burgerboy.net/?p=645 Michael Lombardi is out. This was to be suspected. I’m these situations it is likely sexual harassment.

The interesting one is Steve Belichick. Out since August 6 for health reasons, the latest rumor is drug use and potentially giving a player drugs. Could it be possible he is in rehab ? In this day and age could you keep that quiet ? Would him being let go as with Lombardi, make Bill want to walk ?

TCU vs UNC http://burgerboy.net/?p=646 http://burgerboy.net/?p=646#respond Sun, 30 Aug 2026 11:13:51 +0000 http://burgerboy.net/?p=646 I thought this would be a TCU win but closer to three than the 8 Las Vegas thought. I did not get to watch, I was fishing with my protege. That being said we listened a lot between air breaks and driving to new spots.
UNC has a much tougher schedule this year. All the Belichick needs to go are over the top but it would be fair to say they have made his seat warm. I thought the addition of Bobby Petrino was a big move in the right direction. Yes you scored 15 , and you’d like more, but the TCU Defense is a good one. The UNC quarterback ran a good show with Bobby directing. You should expect more of the same in week 2, before what I expect to be 3 straight losses. The temporary loss of Steve Belichick I did not see as a loss at all. Bill is perfectly capable of calling a defensive game, and if my rear was warm I would want to. This win was a “steal “ if you are UNC, but one they needed.

TCU has serious offensive problems that hopefully will be worked out soon. 10 points on Opening Day , you have an offensive minded head coach, that is just not good. You had a tremendous running game but not much else. You also have a lose in Ireland curse. Yes it is real. Teams that lose game one in Ireland tend to have trash seasons. So I wish both teams the best and am curious will either make a watered down bowl game and will 1 keep his job ?

College Football http://burgerboy.net/?p=643 http://burgerboy.net/?p=643#respond Sun, 23 Aug 2026 07:21:24 +0000 http://burgerboy.net/?p=643 Months ago I said this to friends about Alabama and now I will say it about Oklahoma. Based on your results the last couple of years in Alabama and the last four at Oklahoma, I feel like the contract extensions given, you were quite honestly bidding against yourself. Most recently Oklahoma has had no conference title, or playoff wins, they have had two losing seasons, and one bowl loss to Navy. So what job better than OU are you worried was going to take Venables from you ? The answer is obvious. None, maybe Clemson in a year, but honestly if Dabo was let go is that a better job ? More honestly it is equal. So what did he exactly do for the raise and extension ?
