Yeah, equating abortion to guns is a stretch. But then that’s what an editorial cartoon should do — stretch, exaggerate, unfairly compare. It’s in the contrast that the inconsistencies and hypocrisies get exposed. Such as it being an article of faith that government regulation is inherently bad …except when it’s not, which just so happens to be when it aligns nicely with a political agenda.

This was a good and thoughtful comic. I often hear Republicans talk about getting government out of healthcare and then slapping heavy regulations on doctors who serve female patients. And they lose me when they claim that any gun regulation will bring about the immediate reincarnation of both Nazi German and Soviet Russia within our borders.

I think it’s a stretch to compare abortion to gun policies. I do agree that taking a life is wrong but the person using a gun has a free will the infant has no choice. Still, dead is dead and innocent people suffer. I believe the President is grand standing the gun issue especially when he agrees with late term abortions.

I do agree that we could use better sensible gun policies but unfortunately it won’t stop the killing. Chicago, Cook County, has the strictest gun laws in the nation.
