Advertise with Googlier.com http://archiviststoolkit.org/frontpage The Archivists’ Toolkit™, or the AT, is the first open source archival data management system to provide broad, integrated support for the management of archives. It is intended for a wide range of archival repositories. The main goals of the AT are to support archival processing and production of access instruments, promote data standardization, promote efficiency, and lower training costs. Currently, the application supports accessioning and describing archival materials; establishing names and subjects associated with archival materials, including the names of donors; managing locations for the materials; and exporting EAD finding aids, MARCXML records, and METS, MODS and Dublin Core records. Future functionality will be built to support repository user/resource use information, appraisal for archival materials, expressing and managing rights information, and interoperability with user authentication systems. The AT project is a collaboration of the University of California San Diego Libraries, the New York University Libraries and the Five Colleges, Inc. Libraries, and is generously funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. en http://archiviststoolkit.org/node/96
The Archivists’ Toolkit™, or the AT, is the first open source archival data management system to provide broad, integrated support for the management of archives. The identification of LYRASIS as the organizational home for ArchivesSpace is an important step toward ensuring a sustainable future for the financial, technical, and governance life of the ArchivesSpace system. In turn, it ensures continuity for the hundreds of archives that now depend on the Archivists Toolkit (AT) or the Archon systems to support the management of and access to archives.

http://archiviststoolkit.org/node/295#comments Fri, 20 Apr 2012 15:15:38 +0000 annie_ucsd 295 at http://archiviststoolkit.org http://archiviststoolkit.org/node/292
The Archivists' Toolkit / Archon Roundtable of the Society of American Archivists held its annual meeting on Wednesday, Aug 8, 2012, 3:15 PM - 5:15 PM at the 76th SAA Annual Conference in San Diego.
