Nicole; the bride would send me photos of the location and I couldn’t wait!!!

We arrived the day before, and I was overwhelmed by the natural beauty of the mountains. There was not one spot I had to take photos at since every where I looked caught my eye! Both bride and groom got ready in a 3 storey wooden cabin, the snow was falling perfectly as I arrived, just in time to hang the dress on the outside door.

I was like a kid on Christmas morning! I was so excited and so inspired! We did many of the bridesmaid photos before we left for the ceremony just a short walk to a treed area in front of the cabin. The scenery before my eyes was like a painted canvas, it was surreal.

The bride had turned her late grandmothers fur coat Into a fur shall, inside this shall was her grandmothers initials- the bridesmaids wore beautiful long navy gowns. The accent color was gold, a nice festive touch.

The ceremony took place in the town of Invermere, at the golf course. We took the family photos immediately after the ceremony outside with mountains surrounding. The wedding party was amazingly fun and easy to work with!

Since the days were much shorter at this time of year we had to hustle to catch as much light as we could, we had everything from overcast to the sun peeking out during our formal photos- made for a nice variety of photo opportunities. We stopped on the side of the road, (more like side of the mountain!) on our way back to the reception to catch a few photos.

The reception was beautiful, woodsy and intimate.

As I reflect of on this gorgeous wedding, it was nothing short of a beautiful and magical day for Brody and Nicole! A wedding I would do over and over again! I can’t wait to revisit this place again one day! Thank you for having me travel along with you to capture your wedding day!

As 2016 has come to a close, I reflect on one of the most intense and beautiful years I have ever experienced. As most of you know earlier in the year we welcomed our second child; daughter- Audra Hope. She came into this world in a heck of a hurry and has been fierce and sweet ever since. She has completed me in ways I didn’t know was void.

With that being said she and I are quite attached. I am so lucky to have the opportunity to have my children apart of my photography. Audra came with me on many of my sessions. I photographed over 80 sessions this year, many of them being in my yard. Yes it’s my year to be on maternity leave and I am a better mom for it. I have found my niche doing what I love. Getting out, being with people, planning and creating is where I need to be.

People. Give. Me. Energy!

This winter I chose to be a bit slower and have enjoyed each snowy day with my family!

In the midst of adding to our family we also are adding to our home. We started building onto our house early this summer and it is still ongoing. I will have a small studio space in our new addition. (Eek it’s been a long time coming and so excited for it to be open!) I upgraded my equipment during the very busy autumn season. I also have had the opportunity to meet new faces, travel for weddings and most importantly see my loyal clients again. THANK YOU! I’m also proud to say I’ve exceeded my wedding bookings for 2017.

Amongst this very intense year, I have learned the importance of being present. My husband and I took time out of the business August brings to both of us, and had our family photographed. (Thank you to Krystle Kim photography for capturing this precious time for both of us). It was fun and so glad we had them done to document our beautiful and extraordinary year.

Back to being present; I learned each session I am apart of has a story to document and ever so grateful to be doing what I do. I try my best to customize each session to you! As most would agree, I am in Love with love. Each wedding I am apart of seals the deal why I do what I do.

So what does 2017 have in store for me?

• Operating out of my new space, both photographing and meeting with clients.
• I have wonderful wedding bookings on the calendar.
• 2 mini exclusive sessions in the works for spring and summer- stay tuned 😉
• Upgrading some editing versions.
• Small updates to my current website.
• Moving to online galleries. Discs will still be available.
• Since I have became a mom I have really focused on the beauty of photographing moms with their babes. I have such a strong connection in these sessions – more than ever. Thinking of offering “Mommy and Me” sessions.

Last but not least, continue to balance, something I strive to be better at. Motherhood continually teaches me to strategize each move. Each stage of my young family has me changing routines on a regular base, with each change I try my best to balance every day life. Photography has always been my outlet that helps me go to a place I can dream, imagine and create.

Because photos tend to tell a story, in a short review here are some of my sessions that kept me doing what I do; both personally and professionally.

This sweet, sweet couple’s love story began in high school. Photographing this adorable couple meant so much to me; not only was my son their ring bearer, but I was fortunate to photograph their high school graduation photos 5 years ago– the start of my photography business. Their young love was evident then as it was on their wedding day!

They were willing to be experimental for their photos, and both have such contagious smiles, it is so easy to fall in love with their story!

(This historical church had so much meaning for me as well. It is the church I was married in, then baptized my babies there.)

We did many of the formal photos on the front of the church steps. Braden and Cara’s families and wedding party were so fun to work with! We then headed to Balgonie- to their high school where their love story all began. Before our formal photo time was over we headed to the train tracks in town. I visioned photographing them with the grain elevators in the background. It has meaning for them both; Braden’s farming career and Cara’s new role as a farmers wife! We had celebrated with champagne and caught some amazing fun photos!! There are so many beautiful moments photographing a country wedding.

The Hall in Balgonie was absolutely stunning and had the perfect amount of time to capture their decor details. The amount of beautiful flower bouquets were stunning!!!

Tyler and Megan had a private unique outdoor wedding ceremony at Megan’s parents home in White City. Their backyard was absolutely breathtaking with tall trees and beautiful landscaping. The perfect location for an intimate wedding ceremony.

Both Megan and Tyler love the outdoors. It was only natural for them have an outdoor wedding surrounded by their family. We were threatened by the forecast all day. The clouds were dark and moody but all the rain held off until the end of the day!

Megan got ready at her parents home, getting her dress on near her moms flowers made for beautiful photos. Tyler and his groomsman joined shortly before the service. Megan and Tyler had their “first glimpses” in private- such a joyous and emotional time to capture! After the outdoor wedding ceremony the family gathered for shots of tequila and we proceeded with photos in their backyard.

Using Historical Places for Outdoor Wedding Photography

Afterwards, we went to an old bridge near by. The historical bridge provided a beautiful and timeless backdrop to capture Tyler and Megans story. Still being threatened by the rain we had the umbrellas in hand! We then travelled to Balgonie for our final location at the high school Tyler and Megan both attended. The rain set in as we were finishing! Their wedding party was so fun and relaxed; a great group to photograph.

Their guests joined them at the hall in Balgonie. The speeches, decor and dance was simply amazing!

Manda and Josh have 2 adorable boys. They tagged along with us for photos and we captured mom and dad pulling them in the sleigh! It simply was a great day, winter weddings may be my new favorite time of year for weddings!

May was the start of my 2014 wedding photography season.  The couple is beautiful inside and out. AND they had the largest wedding party I have ever photographed!

June has been many family, newborn and cake smash sessions. I had the privilege to photograph a little guys first birthday. ( I seen him as a newborn, where has the year gone ??!) he is the sweetest, he amazed his parents with all his talking while smashing the cake!!( I think the sugar had something to do with that 😉 ). Just this past weekend, I had a request from a new family to have their photos taken at an ice cream shop! It was fun and funky- and would love to do more of these sessions. They were the cutest family ever, the little girl was the sweetest and enjoyed being photographed (along eating her ice cream). The weeks in June have been flying by and next I’ll be prepping for a wedding in Waskesui. I’m excited to photograph some different areas- something new for my portfolio, Stay tuned for some unreal scenery and of course the beautiful couple 🙂

One of the most frequently asked questions when you have your session booked is what to wear? (Especially when it comes to family sessions). I suggest wearing layers (scarfs, vests, boots) and the like. One or two common threads of color always looks sharp. ( yellow and grey) example: the little girl wearing a yellow flower, the mom wearing a yellow shirt under her denim jacket while dad is wearing a grey shirt with yellow stripes. Something like that. And not everyone wearing all the same colors!!! Wearing common color and dressing in layers always looks classy!!! Dressing to a theme will create fun and original photographs. I have photographed a few engagement sessions that are 50’s style (polka dot dress with a splash of red lipstick !) adding in props to relate to your theme is eye catching! since I love the vintage theme I always have a few props on stand by!

Many have asked me if I photograph boudoir type of shoots and yes I do. I don’t post many of the photos due to privacy and respect to others. Boudoir photos shoots don’t necessarily have to be intimate type of shoots I have done them for ladies who just have felt good about themselves and wanted to do something for themselves. However many brides to be find this as a great gift for their grooms. Many brides do this type of shoot after their makeup and or hair trial. With the photos from this shoot in a leather book makes for a popular gift for the groom on the day of! I am also open to doing lifestyle/boudoir shoots outdoors- maybe country style, in a forestry area! Contact me for any details!!

We welcomed our baby boy; Reid Samuel Lindenbach on February 17, 2014!! We couldn’t find a better way to spend family day then welcoming our first child into our family!! Since we didn’t find out what we were having, I thought girl my husband guessed boy. We were still surprised, humbled and overwhelmed all at once! Reid is a great and content baby and has been from the start. Although having a baby is a huge life change, each day gets easier to adapt to our new schedule and demands, operating on less sleep has become the norm!! He recently started giving real smiles! And when he gives you that smile at 3 am nothing else matters! (And yes he has had many photo shoots already! AND many more to come 🙂 )

With this all being said, I have been taking limited bookings for this upcoming year. I will be begin photographing again on May 1st. I have taken on fewer weddings and grads this season as I plan on spending quality time with my family as these days won’t last forever.
