Some are full of respect and kindness–even among those who disagreed with him at every turn, i.e., humanitarian progressives, believers in U.S. democracy, and the like.  Are the motives of these kind people politically motivated? It’s hard to know.

There’s precious little ambiguity in the response at left of battered Capitol policeman Michael Fanone.

Doesn’t sound like a winner to me. Could be wrong.

If I were one of these folks, I would be reluctant to go on record and declare my support for the man who has almost single handedly brought the United States to its knees.

A little over ten years ago,

• Our country was the envy of the world; now we’re regarded with a mixture of ridicule and contempt.
• We were making our way forward out of ignorance, racism, and hatred of other people; now it’s thriving.
• The common American could afford gasoline, housing, and groceries; now we’re suffering.
• America was doing what it could to protect endangered species and forward environment responsibility; now we’ve sold our souls to the greediest of individuals and corporations.
• We had very little corruption in the presidency; now it’s rampant, and the DoJ has been weaponized to protect the criminal sociopath in the White House.

Again, I’d be loath to attach my name to this shit.

If you like ignorant morons, he’s your guy.

Not only does the Republican party appeal to the uber-rich, but also to a wide variety of racists, and people stupid enough to believe that Trump is bringing manufacturing back to the U.S. and that the billionaires are job creators.

What makes Trump so good at this is his facility to invent a new boogieman every couple of days:

Communism, Dr. Fauci, Venezuela’s drug boats, Iran, birthright citizenship, democrats, the damage done by previous presidents, the climate hoax, the vandals at the Reflecting Pool, Black Lives Matter, Antifa, liberals in education, the Hollywood elite, unsafe vaccinations, trans people, a nuclearized Iran, massive voter fraud, Haitians eating our pets, Harvard, the ex-Fed Chairman, NATO, wind turbines, the far-left radicals, the election control people, the list goes on.

Then there are the near-daily outrages:

The Kennedy Center, the arch, turning Gaza into a luxury resort, annexing Greenland, accepting a $400 million Qatari luxury jet, dozens of violations of the Emoluments Clause, curtailing environmental emission standards, usurping the Panama Canal, refusing to pay damages court-awarded to E. Jean Carroll after being adjudicated a rapist, pardoning hundreds of violent convicted felons, accepting bribes for pardoning white collar fraudsters, insider trading, orchestrating huge international deals that benefit his children, targeting Jack Smith, Jamie Raskin, and dozens of other political enemies, protecting ICE agents who commit murder/manslaughter, and leasing federal wilderness land for oil and gas exploration to profit his billionaire donors.

The more indefensible the better.  If it doesn’t make him billions of dollars and/or distract from his numerous legal woes, e.g., the Epstein Files, it’s worthless.

Does anyone disagree with that?

Unfortunately, there is a roadblock, and it’s called “unfettered capitalism.” As rich people get richer, they tend to become less empathetic to the needs of others, and more capable of manipulating lawmaking processes in their favor.
