This year brought a colt in May and a filly in July. Aberdeen, one of our best mom’s had Knox, a bay colt this spring. He was eager to have a playmate. Jess, our Clydesdale mare, made Knox’s days more playful now that both mares and foals are turned out together. Everyone is getting along, but Aberdeen is definitely the boss. The babies are friendly and often in the front paddock so everyone can enjoy seeing them. Jess’s filly is very sweet and friendlier than her mom. It shows how much proper handling from the very beginning impacts the human/horse bond.
If you stop to see the newest arrivals, please mind your fingers and body parts. These guys are definitely learning about their teeth. We respectfully ask visitors to remain in the parking area/driveway and not enter the barnyard, pastures, or barns. We are a working farm with a lot of activity.
