After being involved in the design of several annual reports and presentations regarding childhood wellbeing—our founder Steve Blackwell started volunteering at a local elementary school helping students with reading, math, and other after school activities. “After reviewing and presenting years and years of data, I wanted to understand what was going on locally—and hopefully get a first-hand perspective,” said Blackwell.
After a couple years of tutoring, Blackwell wanted to initiate something that he believes could help parents and their children, with topics such as truancy, reading and math, behavior issues, manners, self-respect and respect for others. “My goal is to make a difference. I’d like to get families and their kids signed up to have prayer via zoom about the concerns and issues from above, and then measure any change in outcomes against previous data and performance reviews. ]]>Steve Blackwell, our firm’s founder, is a veteran from the Persian Gulf War. Steve was a member of the 167 Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron out of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and was activated to participate in Operation Desert Storm in 1991. Steve served as a flight medic in the Air National Guard for six years and traveled throughout the Middle East and around the world.
Having traveled to nearly every state in the U.S. and more than 20 countries, Steve is thankful for the unique perspective he has gained through the opportunity to serve others around the world.
