Benedictus was a restaurant which had a menu of small dishes or tapas and a big assortment of beers, and it was located in L’Illa Diagonal, a popular shopping center in Barcelona. The name comes from the benedictine monks who brewed their own beer. Logo, visual profile, menus, cards, promo posters, and the graphics used for interior design and lettering were designed by me. The restaurant gave a modern monastery feel, with heavy load of calligraphy.

Merisma is an accounting company from Oslo. I developed its visual profile and several pieces, like business cards, direct marketing pieces like leaflets, and reports they delivered to their customers.

Shiny Happy People

Shiny Happy People was a company offering cleaning services in Oslo. The visual profile used bright pink as its trademark. The character was a cute nice maid, which was were purely typographic, along with the rest of the elements. The purpose was to create a strong, friendly, cartoonish visual language.

Love – not love

“Love – not love” is a visual book where each spread is commissioned to a designer and put into images the dichotomy between the concepts of love and not love. Obviously for me it was the “loves me, loves me not” game done with a daisy, where in one page a leaf is missing and it serves almost like a game to find it. Along with the book, it was exhibited as a temporary exhibit with all the pieces included in the book, and sold as a poster.

45 magazine

45 magazine is an (extinct) online magazine promoted by Surgenia, a technological center of Andalusia, Spain, basing its studies in trends. 45 magazine was centred in fashion trends and was published monthly. Every new issue of the magazine had two articles, presented separated by the navigation bar, which was placed in the middle. Navigation within the articles was entirely horizontal, by clicking in the next picture that appeared to the right side of the navigation bar. Apart from the two articles, there were other sections like the fashion calendar and the repository of previous articles.

Design of a 24-page catalog for Gori de Palma, a fashion designer who wanted to give an overview of his “Black Trilogy” when presenting in the catwalk the last of the three collections. In the pictures you can see some page spreads.

Snakkes

Snakkes is a wall-mounted LED “speaking” board, created to light up the wall and to write a text or comment on with a white board marker pen. Do you need to remind your roommate to pay the rent? Forgot to tell your dad you borrowed his car? Do you want to tell your girlfriend that you love her? Are you tired of telling your boyfriend to put the toilet seat down? Are you fed up with small yellow post-it notes that end up on the floor? Forget sticky papers, save the planet, express your mood and say it with light!

“Snakkes” in Norwegian means “talk to you later”. It would be something you would say to someone when parting from them or leaving a message. Say it with light!

Series of cards for a flower shop owned by the former world champion in flower decoration Stein Are Hansen. His shop is all painted in black and the flowers and the floral works really stand out.

FRAM Museum

Project for redesigning the books of the FRAM Museum, one of the most visited in Norway. The idea was to create a somewhat different identity for each language the book is printed on, while keeping a common visual identity.

The spreads of the book follow a visual storytelling approach, dividing the expeditions into to different parts: the actual story and a more pedagogic/scientific part, limited to one column on the right hand side of each page. The expeditions end with a full line up of the crews.

Flying Culinary Circus’s Christmas card 2010

Christmas card for Flying Culinary Circus, a successful group of Norwegian world class chefs who have traveled the world catering for the biggest events. The image shows in a snapshot the whole 2010 of all the travels by plane they did to cater those events.

The text in the back of the card reads:

198 days of travel, 122.247 kilometers travelled, 77.564 dishes served, 2 kidnappings, unaccountable drinks, surprisingly just a couple of hangovers, and loads of fun with you… Hope to see you again next year!
