Children and teens ages 6 to 17 attend a weekend camp experience that combines grief education and emotional support with fun, traditional camp activities. Led by bereavement professionals and caring volunteers, campers are provided a safe environment to explore their grief, learn essential coping skills, and make friends with peers who are also grieving. Additional services are offered to support the whole family outside of the camp weekend.
Eluna is a public, 501(c)(3) non‐profit organization with a mission to support children and families impacted by grief and addiction. Founded in 2000 in Seattle by MLB pitcher Jamie Moyer and child advocate Karen Phelps Moyer, Eluna was orginally called The Moyer Foundation and launched a series of programs supporting thousands of children and families annually at no cost to them.
Camp Erin® is the largest national network of grief programs for bereaved children and teens, Camp Mariposa® is an addiction prevention and mentoring program for youth impacted by a family member’s substance use disorder, and the Eluna Resource Center offers online tools, local referrals and personalized phone and email support for families experiencing grief, addiction and other related issues. The retreat weekend will help bereaved youth share their grief experiences in creative ways through art projects, time to talk and share, outdoor games and challenge courses, participate in memorial activities and even share a campfire experience!

When and Where?
The 2027 Camp Erin will be held on June 4-6, 2027 at the Trinity Pines Camp & Conference Center in Cascade, Idaho.
Transportation for campers will be provided by Because Kids Grieve from our designated drop off and pick up sites.
How much does it cost?
Camp Erin is FREE to all campers through generous support and donations from local corporations and other area organizations.
Registration Process
Parents or guardians must complete an application for each child or teen who would like to attend. Applications are accepted until all available spaces are filled. Space is limited, so we encourage you to return the completed application as soon as possible.
Please note that any camper who has attended camp in the past will be considered after all spaces are offered to new campers.

Camp Erin is made possible through the support of many dedicated volunteers. Volunteers are needed to serve as camp counselors and as support staff to assist with the diverse camp activities. The purpose of the day camp is to help children/teens recognize and process grief in a positive and fun atmosphere.
By meeting others who have experienced death of a loved one, the children discover they are not alone and share many of the same feelings and challenges.

Each evening includes a dinner, guardian/parent break out group & children/teen break out group, both involving theme related activities and interactions.
Our mission with this community education event is to provide attendees with the opportunity to understand how grief in children differs from adult grief, and to build skills for meeting the needs of bereaved children and youth. We offer CEUs for Social Workers, Counselors and Morticians, but anyone in the community is invited.
This one-day, interactive workshop offers a compassionate space to explore grief through the lens of how children learn and grow. Grounded in an understanding of cognitive, social, and emotional development, this session highlights the importance of honoring diverse learning styles when supporting children who are grieving.
The 12th Annual Bereavement Conference will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026 in the Treasure Valley area and Friday, September 25, 2026 in Twin Falls. Cost will be around $50 which includes snacks and lunch. Social Workers and Counselors may earn up to 6 CEUs by participating in the workshop.
