GRRRLTRAVELER on ROKU TV,

These days, times are a changin’! A couple of days ago, a fan of GRRRLTRAVELER blog and YouTube channel commented that my Roku TV app was now out for viewers to subscribe.

This was before I was even contacted of that news! A couple of days later, I was notified that GRRRLTRAVELER had a new app out. There are two signs I like to gauge my YouTube/blog popularity and growth by…. 1) Thumbs Downs/DisLikes on YouTube (seriously, many popular YOuTubers have told me this) and 2) when my audience catches news about me before I get it.

GRRRLTRAVELER’s YouTube channel features destination, food tours, Top 5 Travel Tips, gear reviews, Solo Travel & ‘Teach Abroad’ tips and ‘Top Things to Do’ itineraries.

Additionally, my videos are also now on TV, through several streaming Roku channels, such as Trip Smart.tv (Travel USA, Asia, Europe), Smart Woman, SmartMan.tv , iFoodTV, Family Vacations by Fawesome.tv and the list grows. In March 2015, GRRRLTRAVELER will launch its own app on Roku.

In 2014, Roku hit over 10million box sales . Athough it is second to Apple TV sales, Roku is actually viewed more than Apple TV. It is currently big in the US and Canada, but is expanding.

WOOOHOO!!! My YOUTUBE channel has passed 4,000+ subscribers!!! This has not been easy, even with the quality videos I make. Your watching and subscribing is very encouraging, so thank you! v(^_^)v

Let’s shoot for 15,000-20,000 subs by the end of the year and one million views! I know it’s a tall order but I feel like we can get there.

Travel Channel Host Callback Audition in New York | Vlog #2

Recently, the Travel Channel flew me to New York for a callback audition for a Travel Channel Travel Host position. It took place in Coney Island. There was one pilot show I was in consideration for, but otherwise they were going through talent to see what they had in the case any pilots arose. Fingers crossed.

The video below is what I decided to do a day later on GRRRLTRAVELER, seeing as I had some information on Coney Island. I’m grateful for the opportunity and even moreso for the extra trip as it was highly productive. I shot five YouTube travel videos for my channel within that week’s stay!
