Ranbir will play a Jehadi in the film while Shah Rukh Khan will play a Muslim who gets wrongly detained on a flight because his last name is Khan and the authorities believe that makes him a terrorist. Talk about stereotypes!

The film is based on a real life experience of a couple that was wrongly detained; Karan Johar has bought rights to the story from them. The film is currently underway with Karan looking for shooting locations in Los Angles. Karan is also trying to rope in Akshay Kumar to be in the film.

The film is expected to start official production in October after Shah Rukh completes filming for Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

So what’s so different about this one? Well, John Abraham plays a homosexual character in the film, not actually but for the sake of his friend (played by Abhishek). An insider says, “The love triangle in the film is between Abhishek-Priyanka-John. Abhishek loves Priyanka but Priyanka loves John. For the sake of his best friend, John fakes gay to repel Priyanka. Now this is what I call “dosti”. This is the first time a mainstream actor would be playing a homosexual role in a Bollywood film.

We’re not done yet! Dostana also stars Bobby Deol (in a cameo) who also plays a homosexual character in the film, however Bobby is actually gay and doesn’t fake it like John. The insider continues, “Bobby plays a real gay in the film who is attracted to John Abraham who takes up the gay garb just for the sake of his friend”.

ADAG owned bigadda.com recently roped Big B to start his own blogging site. In the blog, Big B talks about his life, film shoots and more. About his blog he states, “I am still illiterate towards this medium and beg to be excused for any errors or expectations from me. But as time goes by and the systems fall into place, there shall hopefully be a more refined presentation.”

In other Bachchan news, Amitabh recently injured himself on the sets of the forthcoming Aladdin co-starring Riteish Deshmukh. On Monday, during a fight scene for the film, Big B hurt his back severely and he had to be taken to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital for orthopedic examination. Supposedly, Bachchan underwent X-ray and MRI scan of his back. Nothing serious was detected with the injury. On his new blog, Amitabh thanked his fans saying ,“your generosity and concern for my health is so endearing and warm. Thank you for it!”

It will be interesting to see how successful his blog becomes. Whether it will prove to be as successful as Aamir’s is something we have yet to see. In the meantime, you can keep track of Big B here

For those that don’t know, Bipasha Basu demanded 1 crore (same amount as Aishwarya Rai is being paid) to be on the tour. When Wizcraft denied, Bipasha walked out.

Now, the organizers have decided to drag her to court and are suing her for breaking and walking out of a signed contract. It is rumored that the Big B (Amitabh Bachchan) tried to persuade her to come back, but she stuck to her decision.

After the departure of Bipasha, Priety Zinta walked in saving the tour from being axed. Alongside the Bachchan family, Akshay Kumar, Ritiesh Deshmukh, Madhuri Dixit and Preity Zinta are set to perform. The tour kicks off on July 18th in Canada.

Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta are the two latest additions to the Unforgettable Tour – “Experience the Magic” which will commence in July 2008 and will hit 6 continents spanning 18 countries. With over 80 films to date, Akshay Kumar’s presence on the tour is well suited due to his recent box office successes Namaste London, Bhool Bhulaiyya, Heyy Babyy, Welcome, and the upcoming Tashan. Akshay was very pleased to be part of the tour saying, “I am elated to be on The Unforgettable Tour that will reach out to millions of Indian Cinema fans across the world. Touring with Wizcraft and Amitji, I believe that fans will be in store for a great journey of Indian Cinema and all the energy and excitement it has to offer”. The tour will give him the opportunity to perform songs from his forthcoming Singh Is King.

Even with the success of Race, this sudden fame and exposure hasn’t gone to his head. Saif remains humble as he says, “I guess stardom is all about box office hits. I’ve done some successful films and quite like myself in them. So I think I’ve earned the title [of Prince Khan]. But there are more accomplished actors than me like Shah Rukh, Aamir, Salman, Akshay, and Hrithik. Today, it’s a galaxy of stars shining and I am happy to be a part of it”.

Due to his success with Race, Saif recently got a 30-crore movie offer but rejected saying, “It was quite a generous and tempting offer, a package deal, but everything isn’t about money. There were other important aspects which didn’t agree with my thinking”.

Saif’s popularity prompted the Bachchan’s to ask him to join their highly anticipated “Unforgettable” World Tour. Rumors quickly arose that he has signed on to the tour, however disappointing many fans Saif explained, “It didn’t work out. Now I’m planning my own stage shows in a world tour along with a senior actor. My market will be diluted if I do it now. Moreover, and a very important point, I want to wait for some better music of my own. Now it’s only Race’s music that’s popular.”

When asked about the one and only Bebo (Kareena Kapoor), he said she was “quite the inspiration” because of how “stunning” she looks. “She’s got me into weights and yoga”, says Saif on how Kareena has inspired him.

Lately though there has been a lot of controversy surrounding the carrying of the Olympic torch Saif still plans to do his part as he said, “It’s for a good cause. I love sports. I’ve been a cricket lover but someday, in some way, I’ll promote the cause of sports.” Now that’s a Prince-like move!

After the success of the multi-starrer Race, Bipasha called the organizers of the show and asked for double the amount she was initially paid. When they didn’t agree, she walked out of the tour. A source claims, “With the success of Race, Bipasha felt that she deserved to be paid better. She felt that she was justified in asking for a big hike for performing overseas (the shows will be held in USA and Canada). Recently, Akshay Kumar who’d walked out of the tour because of money issues, walked back in after the organisers agreed to his terms and conditions. It is believed that Aishwarya is getting a whopping 1 crore for the same tour, and Bips felt she too deserved something closer to that amount. It’s believed that she asked for the same amount as Ash but the organisers didn’t agree.”

Bipasha hasn’t said what her price hike was but she does admit to not being part of the tour anymore. She says, “The modalities of the tour didn’t work out for various reasons and yes, pricing was one of the issues. I have good relations with Wizcraft. I wish them a super successful tour”.

Rumour has it that Lara and Bipasha really opted out because they didn’t want to compete with Aishwarya. Being the Bachchan’s show, Lara felt she would be overshadowed by Aishwara. Bipasha has denied such rumours stating, “Please do not look for anything more than this. I have tremendous respect for Amitji and lots of affection for Abhishek and Ash as people and actors, so please don’t look for unnecessary reasons. The reason I have cited is it”.
