Mine are still in the oven and smell beautiful but are not flat like the recipe. Am I doing something wrong? Cheers
]]>Hi Shirley
Thanks for letting me know about the TV, something I would never have thought about.
I do love your water antics with your husband; too funny.

Hi Brony
Thanks for sharing, it all sounds very delicious.

We had corned silverside regularly growing up. My mum put the whole carrots in the pot with the silverside and cut the cabbage into quarters and placed them into the corned silverside covered with water and added 5 bay leaves table spoon golden syrup quarter cup malt vinegar to the water and proceeded to cook. I preferred to Julien my carrots and place in a separate pot chop my cabbage and put into another separate pot then I get a cup and use the brine water from the silverside and cover my carrot and cabbagethe the silverside water and Boil my potatoes. I make mustard sauce to put on the meat when I serve this. Left over meat corned silverside and mustard sandwich the next day yummy or I makeke extra veges and sauce when I cook it and use them the second night. In a casserole dish place a layer of cabbage then a layer of carrots the mustard sauce the silver side then top it off with the mashed potatoe and a layer of grated cheese
Cover with tinfoil and place into oven 180 degrees til it's piping hot. Take the tinfoil off and brown cheese. Yummy way to use up meat and all the other ingredients. Hubby and I both love silveside and mustard sauce so having it 2 nights in a row gives you a good fill and a yummy dinner for 2 days plus a lunch time couple of sandwiches. In expensive meal over 2days. $12.00 per night for meat and veges.
Hi Laurel
Unfortunately I can't say yes or no to using sourdough discard as I have no experience with that on this recipe.
