Depends on the area you are located…however, bilingual is always necessary and if you speak the language necessary are able to charge accordingly. As mentioned before I also speak Spanish and have closed many loan signings as such….and of course I charge more. However, in other cities I see a need for many of the Asian languages spoken so could see the need for same.

Need for bilingual Notary by natives of a second language comes up very frequently. Two main reasons: (a) Linguistically, not being able to fully understand or speak English. (b) Psychologically, they do not feel as comfortable; they fear that the documents may say or mean something hurting his rights…or his money. I am 100% fluent in Spanish and English and you cannot imagine the “relieve” the client feels and expresses when he discovers he can ask and speak freely on whichever question, concern or fear. It is worthy to him to invest more time and money if he can accomplish such an “intimate” communication. SANVI.

With the emerging technology, they make these translator programs… can a english speaking person purchase a translator and use it at a spanish closing?
