]]>There’s something truly special about maternity sessions that include the whole family — especially when they’re photographed in one of Edmonton’s most beautiful natural spaces. Terwillegar Park is one of my favourite locations for maternity photos because it offers open trails, tall grasses, river views, and that peaceful, tucked-away feeling that lets families just be themselves.
This session was all about connection, movement, and celebrating this sweet season of waiting.
Terwillegar Park is ideal for families who want natural, relaxed maternity photos without anything feeling staged or forced. There’s space for kids to explore, parents to walk hand-in-hand, and plenty of quiet moments in between.
I always encourage families to move, laugh, and interact naturally — walking the trails, snuggling close, and letting kids be kids. Those in-between moments often become the most meaningful images.
Including older siblings in a maternity session makes the experience even more special. It tells a fuller story — one of anticipation, love, and growing together. These sessions aren’t about perfect poses; they’re about capturing real emotion, genuine smiles, and the beautiful chaos of family life.
My approach to maternity photography in Edmonton is simple: gentle direction, lots of encouragement, and space for authentic moments to unfold naturally.
If you’re expecting and looking for a natural, family-centered maternity session in Edmonton, Terwillegar Park is a wonderful choice. I’d love to help you document this season in a way that feels true to you — relaxed, joyful, and full of connection.
Reach out to book your maternity session and let’s create images your family will treasure for years to come

]]>There’s something truly special about lake life — the slower pace, the screen-free afternoons, the sandy feet and tangled hair that come with a day well spent. So when this beautiful family invited me out to their cabin at Lake Wabamun for their family portraits, I knew it was going to be one of those sessions I’d never forget.
As a family photographer in Edmonton, I love the energy of the city, but there’s something different — something deeper — about photographing families in the places that hold their memories. At the cabin, everyone just exhales. The kids know where to run. Grandma knows where her favourite chair sits in the sun. And every tree, dock, and deck board tells part of your family’s story.
This particular evening at Lake Wabamun was golden in all the best ways. The kids skipped rocks, we explored the shoreline, and we ended the session barefoot on the dock as the sun dropped low over the water. The family didn’t just pose for photos — they lived a little slice of their real life while I quietly documented the love and connection between them. That’s the kind of session I live for.
If your family has a cabin — whether it’s at Lake Wabamun, Pigeon Lake, or tucked away somewhere no one else knows about — let’s go there. Let’s photograph your people in the place where your best memories are already being made. Family portraits don’t have to happen in a studio or city park. They can happen on your deck, by your firepit, or out on the boat, wrapped in cozy sweatshirts and stories.
As a family photographer based in Edmonton, I’m happy to travel to your cabin for a session that’s deeply personal, relaxed, and meaningful. These are the photos that bring you back — to long weekends, summer traditions, and the kind of love that lives between generations.
So if you’ve been thinking about family portraits and your cabin is the heart of your family life, this is your sign.
Reach out here to plan your cabin session — I’ll bring my camera, you bring the memories.

]]>There’s something truly magical about welcoming a new baby — not just for you, but for your entire family. Older siblings peeking into the bassinet, proud parents trading off snuggles, grandparents dropping by with homemade meals and misty eyes — it’s a season filled with quiet chaos, tenderness, and so much love. That’s why I believe the most meaningful newborn photography happens right in your own home.
When your baby is wrapped in the comfort of your family and the familiarity of your space, everything just flows. There’s no rushing out the door, no stress of keeping everyone still or smiling. We take our time. We follow the baby’s rhythm. And we let the story of your family unfold naturally, exactly as it is.
These at-home sessions are not about stiff poses or perfect outfits. They’re about the way your toddler gently pats baby’s head. The way you instinctively rock while standing in the hallway. The way your older kids pile on the bed, giggling and curious, already falling in love with their newest sibling. This is the heart of natural newborn photography— unposed, full of feeling, and centered around your family’s real connection.
Your home becomes part of the story too. The chair you’ve been nursing in at 2 a.m., the sunlight pouring through the nursery window, the little messes that mark the shift from “before” to “after” — it’s all part of the beautiful truth of this chapter. And capturing it now means you’ll always be able to return to these early days, just as they were.
As a photographer, I gently guide the session, but I also let your family lead. We take breaks, we follow the kids’ energy, and we allow space for both the quiet and the chaos. My goal is always to create images that feel like you — full of warmth, movement, and love.
If you’re searching for Edmonton newborn photography that’s honest, relaxed, and rooted in family connection, this is it. Whether it’s your first baby or your fifth, these moments are worth remembering.
Reach out here to book your in-home newborn session — I’d be honoured to help you tell your story.
Let’s capture your new beginning, surrounded by the people who already love this baby more than words can say.

]]>Edmonton Lifestyle Session- When the city is your backyard…
If there’s one thing I’ve learned after years of photographing families, it’s this: the best memories are made when you’re having fun together. Edmonton family photography doesn’t have to be stiff or overly posed — in fact, my favourite sessions are the ones where we laugh, explore, and let the kids just be themselves. That’s the heart of lifestyle photography in Edmonton — capturing your family’s true connection, in all its beautiful, chaotic, real-life glory.
One of the best parts of being a family photographer in Edmonton is the huge variety of beautiful, natural backdrops this city has to offer. Whether we’re walking through the river valley in golden hour light, splashing in the creek at Mill Creek Ravine, or chasing the last of the fall leaves at Hawrelak Park, each location brings something special to your story. For this session we walked through the Ravine, over to Muttart and up across the bridge….all places this family loves to explore together.
I always say that the best location is wherever your family feels most comfortable. Some of my favourite sessions happen in places your kids already love — a neighbourhood park, your backyard, or even your cozy living room. That’s the beauty of lifestyle photography in Edmonton: it’s not about the perfect pose, it’s about your family’s personality shining through.
Want something extra magical? The wildflower fields in summer, or those golden fall mornings when the leaves crunch under little feet, make for stunning backdrops without needing to go far. The city’s natural gems — like Laurier Park, Buena Vista Dog Park (yes, bring your pup!), or the boardwalk at Larch Sanctuary — give us space to play and breathe.
So if you’ve been thinking about booking an Edmonton family photography session, consider this your sign. Let’s head to your family’s favourite spot, chase the light, let the kids run wild, and create photos that feel like you. Not just smiling at the camera, but wrapped in each other’s arms, telling inside jokes, sharing snacks, and celebrating exactly who you are — right now.
Because these years? They go by fast. But the memories we make together? You’ll have them forever.
Let’s go make some magic.

]]>Terwillegar Park Family Portraits in Edmonton, Alberta
It feels just like yesterday that I photographed these girls as toddlers and now they’re so beautifully grown up! This family’s session was was pure fun. We explored Edmonton, AB’s Terwillegar Park, and played, played, played. These girls were so excited by nature! In the forest, we spent time discovering little treasures like interesting leaves, flowers, and plants. We also made sure to take a break for storytime.
This family is so full of joy, it is absolutely infectious! The smiles and giggles during this Terwillegar Park Family Portrait Session were endless. Such happy, silly, sweet kids made taking portraits easy. The sun even came out at all the right times and I was able to capture some lovely golden hour moments. I couldn’t have asked for a better Fall afternoon!
Terwillegar is one of my favourite outdoor locations for lifestyle family sessions in Edmonton. There are so many beautiful trails to wander along. In addition, it is also dog friendly so if you have a canine member of your household, it is the perfect spot for them to roam and play as well. Plus, Terwillegar also offers plenty of variety from groves of trees, to open fields, to River Valley beaches – it really has it all!
It has been such a pleasure watching this family grow and I feel so honored to have had the opportunity to capture their story at so many special moments.

From their beautiful wedding to photographing their family back at the place their were married, I have loved every opportunity to photograph them!
Invermere is such a beautiful place and the perfect location to photograph a family lifestyle session.
