Let's talk about...
Why to talk about women in the Church? What are women in the Roman Catholic Church fighting for? Can Catholicism and feminism go together? To answer these and other questions we invite you for a new meeting organized by the Jesuit Culture Center BROER in Copenhagen with Zuzanna Radzik, a Catholic theologian and journalist from Warsaw (Poland). Initially interested only in Jewish-Christian relations, she discovered that it is hard to do any work in the Church while being a woman. She just published “Emancypantki. Kobiety, Które Zbudowały Kościół”, her second book about women in the Church and Christian feminism and continues her effort to uphold Catholic feminism in Poland. The meeting will be held on Friday the 2 November in Sankt Augustins Kirke (in the chimney room) at 7 PM. Entrance through the church.
NEW ICONS IN AUGUSTINS KIRKE
WE DO IT! New icons to Sankt Augustins Kirke are coming soon. The icons of St Ignatius and St Francis are made in the very same style like St Augustin and St Bridget located on the first pillars just after entering the church. The icons are on the way. The next steps were already made. The icon’s broads were covered by linen then the levkas (gesso) was applied with many layers. At the end of this process the boards were sand. Now they are waiting for the most exciting step – painting! We hope to bless the icons the 3rd December, on the feast of St Francis Xavier SJ.
The icons will cost 60 000 kroner and are made by the polish artist from Edinburgh, Monika Walendziak. We will be very happy if you would like to support this project. To do so you can use our bank account:

THE BIBLICAL KOINE FOR BEGINNERS
In September we start the Koine (Greek) classes. As you know the New Testament was written in Koine. That is why our classes will be based on the text of the Gospel according to Mark. We start in September 2018 and continue studying until June 2019. The classes are given by Paweł Rakowski SJ, graduated from Pontifical Gregorian University. There is no exact price for the course - contribute freely at the end of every month. Registration until 31th August: pr@jesuitterne.org. The number of participants is limited.
With the beginning of August we start our new pastoral & cultural year of 2018/2019 in Sankt Augustins Kirke.
We celebrate Sunday Holy Masses for students (confession at 5:15 - 5:45 pm, mass at 6 pm) since the 5th of August. We start celebrating Sunday Family Masses (confession 9:15 - 9:45 am, mass at 10 am) one week later, since the 12th of August. The Holy Masses on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday we celebrate since the 2nd of August (always at 6 pm).
The Ignatian meditation group MANRESA starts the 16th of August after the evening mass (mass at 6 pm, meditation at 6:45 - 7:30 pm).

Po wakacjach pierwszą Mszę Rodzin odprawimy 12 sierpnia. Życzę wszystkim udanego czasu urlopowego!
2. Jest jedno wydarzenia, podczas którego możemy się spotkać w lipcu. Od 9 lipca (poniedziałek) do 13 lipca (piątek) odbywać się będą w naszym kościele koncerty w ramach Summer Jazz Festival w Kopenhadze. Dużą część muzyków stanowić będą polscy wykonawcy. Szczegółowy program koncertów znajdziecie na stronie kościoła w “newsach”. Oraz na stronie jazz.dk (wpisując w wyszukiwarkę nazwę naszego kościoła). Na wszystkie 9 koncertów jest jeden bilet wstępu za 120 / 80 koron (dorośli / dzieci). Po każdym wieczorze koncertowym będzie możliwość pobycia razem przy lampce wina.
3. Osoby, które zapisały się na warsztaty z komunikacji z dziećmi z panią Blanką Parnak zapraszamy na drugie spotkanie, które odbędzie się 30 czerwca o godz. 13:00 w sali kominkowej (wejście przez kościół).
4. W tym roku realizujemy projekt, który ma ujednolicić styl dekoracyjny naszego kościoła. Figury św. Ignacego Loyoli, naszego założyciela, oraz św. Franciszka Ksawerego, jednego z pierwszych naszych towarzyszy i misjonarza, który dotarł do Japonii i wybrzeży Chin, zostaną przeze mnie przewiezione do Opola, do duszpasterstwa akademickiego Xaverianum, którego patronem jest św. Franciszek Ksawery. W ich miejsce umieścimy ikony św. Ignacego i św. Franciszka, wykonane dokładnie w takim samym stylu jak ikony św. Augustyna i św. Brygidy, które znajdują się na pierwszych filarach zaraz po wejściu do kościoła. Koszt projektu szacujemy na 60 tysięcy koron (wykonanie odpowiednich desek i zdobień, następnie malowanie ikon).
