Grenada Railroad Celebrates Reactivation of Freight Service
The NCMRRA (North Central Mississippi Regional Railroad Authority) saved the short line from Canton to Memphis from abandonment. All the bonds have now been paid off on a project that no one believed had a chance of success. That’s what Mississippians do when they recognize need!
Thank you to our state officials, MDA, local officials and economic developers along this line. Special thanks to Mayor Larry Hart and Pablo Diaz for their heavy lifting during the inception of this project! This line is now privately owned and operated. Congratulations Mississippi!!!
Ribbon Cutting for New Partnership Member, Coombs Gas
Wednesday, September 30th, the Panola Partnership welcomed new member, Coombs Gas, to Panola County at their grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony.
Coombs Gas is a 54-year-old company based out of Blue Mountain, MS, and is 4 generations deep. Currently at the helm, Braxton Coombs, grandson of founder Butch Coombs, operates several LP Gas locations and a fleet of delivery trucks throughout Mississippi and Tennessee.
We welcome Coombs to Batesville and wish them well.

ACI headquartered itself in Batesville 33 years ago in 1990, starting with $2M in sales and 30 employees. Last Wednesday, August 30th, 2023, they broke ground on a new expansion that will support over $100M in sales and increase their total employment to over 240.
