SAA Foundation Board Advances FY27 Budget, 2026 Catalyst Grants, Annual Meeting Fundraising, and Leadership Transition

CHICAGO—The Society of American Archivists (SAA) Foundation Board of Directors met virtually in May and July to review Foundation operations, approve the FY27 budget and 2026 Catalyst Grant awards, advance governance work, and prepare for Annual Meeting fundraising and the transition to 2026–2027 Foundation leadership. SAA Signs Letter to Senate and House in Support of Regulating the Papers of the Supreme Court Justices

October 7, 2026—SAA joined with a number of other organizations to sign onto a letter drafted by Fix the Court asking Congress to make the working papers of Supreme Court justices the property of the people. At present, papers are considered the personal property of each justice, and no guarantees are made that these papers are ever seen by the public. Read the letter below.

Chicago, 2026—Amanda Greenwood, archivist of the University of Virginia’s Claude Moore Health Sciences Library, was appointed Publications Editor of the Society of American Archivists (SAA). She began her three-year term earlier this year. The appointment was made by the SAA Council following a six-month search.
